The lights aren't the only thing there
I like to keep all doors open. There is one ghost that completely closes a door with one touch, guess it was Mare.
All ghosts can close doors completely. Yurei will do it more often but lately I rarely get it
It's a Yurei actually, it's an ability that also drains your sanity.
I do this too. If they're all opened all the way and get touched it's pretty easy to find the one that is now slightly closed.
I’m pretty sure that a yurei is the only ghost that can close a fully open door
@@FlashForce This is not true. ONLY a Yurei can COMPLETELY close a door if it is all the way open. The door MUST be all the way open, and the Yurei can do it in a single interaction. No other ghost can do that. Atm there is also an accompanying bug where it sounds like the Yurei touches the door twice in immediate succession though.
But it is this reason that I also prefer to go and open every single door (at least on smaller maps) all the way open. You can still tell when a ghost touches it, you don't block your lines of movement for no reason, and if you notice a door closed entirely early on in the hunt, you can lean your suspicions towards Yurei and narrow it down easier.
Though it is not always going to be 100% accurate(if it is based on activity specifically, so ghosts such as the Thaye, Demon, and Shade. You can have an extremely shy Demon, or you can have an extremely active Shade), It is also extremely helpful to learn each ghost type's behavior. I have accurately guessed ghost types several times based on behavior. A few examples include: the Jinn will not turn the breaker off. The Wraith can teleport to you randomly, which will set off an emf reader. The Mare hates the light, and has a good chance of fighting you when you attempt to turn on the lights in the ghost room. Demons are extremely aggressive and can hunt at any sanity, and have a shorter hunt cooldown. The Oni cannot do the air ball event, and also tends to be more active with multiple players nearby. A Shade is very shy and will not do an event with multiple players nearby. A Phantom will vanish if you take a picture of it during an event or hunt(Assuming the photo counts). Spirits cannot hunt for 3 minutes after their room is smudged. And the Poltergeist can throw objects quicker, and is the only ghost in the game that can throw multiple objects. People, help complete the list. This could be very helpful to new players to the game.
Demon: using a crucifix will prevent demon from hunting
Jinn: it does not a turn a breaker off
Moroi: if u are using parabolic mic or spirit box and a moroi speaks in it, u sanity will go down a lot faster and this is known as a moroi curse
The twins: one is slow one( less than normal speed) and a fast one ( faster than normal speed), u can identify them during a hunt by paying extra attention to their speed and activity chart in the van can also help u a lot if u know how to read it
Myling: it is a super quiet ghost during hunts and u will not hear any footsteps if u are away from the ghost but as soon but u will hear the footsteps as it comes close enough to u
Deogen: a very slow ghost but will find u easily as u can't hide from a deo so it is advisable to circle around a table or counter during a hunt
Banshee: u will get singing events and sometimes a scream in the parabolic mic
Onryo: put a crucifix very close to a candle and a onryo will always blow the candle first before burning a crucifix
Raiju: slow ghost but can become fast when it comes into range with electrical devices
Mare: it will turn of lights around u and the ghost room
Obake: a ghost with probably no special characteristic but leaves special type of fingerprints
Goryo: ghost which never really changes the ghost room
The mimic: it gives force fake orbs during no evidences challenge
Myling also gives 3-4 whispers in a parabolic mic
Shade hunts at like 35% sanity
I have never played phasmophobia but this knowledge is all i have gathered from watch insym

Don’t forget about The Mimic, since it’s got the fake orbs
or just have that one friend that stays by the door yelling the ghost's name while you are inside.

u can use the flashlight
It's almost impossible to use spirit box in the light so being in the dark is necessary for singleplayers
Step 1: turn up the volume
Step 2: get a heart attack
Step 1: be less afraid of the game 😂 I still can’t play well, I get easily scared and take to long hahaha
So in short make the Game even creepier

the only downside to the volume step is that Phasmophobia doesnt let you specify what kind of volume I want to turn down
For some reason I like to watch your videos even though I will never in my life play Phasmophobia (idk how to spell) cause my heart will literally jump out of my chest and I will sit in the corner wondering why I decided to do this myself and wonder what things will haunt me in my dreams at nught
I wouldn't recommend turning off the lights for long periods of times if you want to keep your sanity because being in the dark drains your sanity
Tip #2 is bad. That will destroy your sanity and get you hunted. Best advice is get power on and use Tier 1 thermometer, close doors and use parabolic mic on large maps and maybe even place down the other mics as well places so they don't overlap much.

I finally decided to start phasmo and this is gonna help a bunch!
Turning lights off is a double-edged sword - you will lose sanity faster and get hunted quicker. (Unless that's what you want)
Ez workaround. Keep the light off in the room you are checking for ghost. Stand in the next room over with the light on.
Turn my volume up and blow my eardrums as well as give myself a heart attack. Nah I'm not ready to join the spirits just yet.
There is a much faster and reliable way to do this!
Step1:Find luigi board or however you spell it. Step2: go on vc and say hide and seek. Step3: see results.
Just imagine you had your vallume all the way up with headphone then a plate smashes by you
My biggest issue sometimes is glitchiness and ghosts not acting the way they are supposed to. Also when your teammates don't stop talking and knocking shit over when you're trying to find the room lol
Tip #6: Forget everything you said after the first jump scare.
Problem, ever now and again i go half deaf for no reason and its like blocking my ears
Irl or in-game? Cuz ingame means your headset is a little janked and peaked in one ear. To fix that just don't turn it up all the way. Turn it down a bit on your headset volume scroller.
Me: "Damn its been so long maybe the ghost is actually scared of me"
Also me: *Does the complete opposite of all the tips*

Having all doors fully open works too. If a ghost interacts with the door it will be slightly more closed

No, ghost events are already too stimulating for comfort. I would literally die, lord helps me if it decides to be a demon or a deo.

Also you can say: "give us a sign" or call ghost by his name and he will be more active.

Parabolic Mic is my go to, in my team(s) I always carry one from the get go!
It can also get you a free win for either mimic or banshee since those are the only ones with the unique banshee scream
Dude i have a terrible PHASMOPHOBIA: MY blood is hot right now
my only real gripe with this is turning the lights off. the only ghosty that this affects is the mare, ghosts are active based off your sanity and rng. I can't recommend this simply because if you're having trouble finding the ghost room you're likely a beginner, and hunts are super scary when you don't know what's going on
Lights effect every ghost. If the lights are on in the room the ghost is in, it can’t throw objects (unless it’s a polty using its ability).

I'm pretty sure there's a mission to get the picture of the ghost and if you wanna get paid more, this is the way to do it.
#6 light all the candles in the pentagram and wait
I would switch out the door tip with just holding the EMF. If you hear a sound, walk in that direction and find it with the EMF

I started playing recently but it sucks that good equipment is unlocked later in the game. I'm deaf/HoH and I really struggle with hearing and finding the sounds. A visual indicator would be nice

for number 4, i recomend bug all the doors, if one is fixed its because the ghost touch it
I usually like to only turn off the lights in the ghost room, especially on bigger maps where a hunt can start without you knowing and you can see the lights flickering for a hunt would hear the hunt sounds.

Actually no, because the first step is needed for temperature, the second is for more interact after the first step

What I usually do on Tanglewood after getting the breaker on, is pretty much using the living room as sort of a breaker indicator
Once me and a friend were on tanglewood and we didn't know the ghost room yet but we found a ✨luigi✨ board in the basement next to a hiding spot. Naturally we used it and hid when the ghost started hunting.
Using the parabolic mic i practically watched eith my ears as the ghost spawned in the garage, walked down the stairs and killed my teammate. At that point we already knew what the ghost was so i just took some photos and left lol

Honestly, most people never use the Para Mic, but I used to use it a lot for Asylum.
I use it all the time because it not only help you find the room but it can also single it down to the mimic or banshee through the banshee scream.

These are tips to find the ghost, not test its abilities. The mare light switch ability is handy but the chances of using it to “find the ghost” are unlikely.
If you are opening all the doors with the thought that the ghost will shut it, how noticeable will that be? Will it completely shut it? Will it only slightly move it? Chances are way higher of it lightly moving the door.
