@@OninDynamics the second isnt an ability, its a behaviour, the first is an ability because its not something that "just is" for the demon, rather the demons sanity hunt range is 80% but its ability is to start a hunt at any point regardless of sanity (aka, normally you have to be below 80% sanity for it to hunt, but on rare occasions the demon will decide it doesnt care about your sanity and hunt anyway), whereas the second is a behaviour since its an always existing thing in this game, ghost abilities are things a ghost can do at any given time but is not always active or true, you can go several games with a ghost before you ever see their ability occur
Happened to a friend of mine on professional too on Tanglewood. We got in together, went straight to the garage and he died instantly as soon as we got in😂
yup, phasmo doesnt count setup time for pretty much anything, challenges, achievements etc... it only counts once you open the door, technically one can get this achievement in a 1 hr game, just dont open the door for an hr, open it and get hunted right away, it will count. iirc the ghost doesnt even spawn in until you open the door nor does sanity decay until then
@@XiaoYueMao Yep, exactly. I know the sanity drain doesn't start until the door is open because my crew will sometimes spawn into a game and truck camp while taking a break to use the restroom, grab a snack, etc.
I had this happen to me a week or so before achievements were added. It was the first time I had played in a while. I had been in Tanglewood just long enough to turn on the breaker. As soon as I got upstairs I saw the ghost standing in the living room. Luckily I had my camera with me so I went to take a picture, and immediately got killed by the ghost. Decided that was not the day to return to Phasmophobia.
Had this happen before the achievements..it was literally the first SECOND. My friend and i were heading in and i opened the door, stepped in and the door shut in her face. The demon came right up out of the boys room on Tanglewood and unalived my butt instantly lol
Came back here to say I just got this one last night playing on Edgefield too and I laughed so hard. My poor boyfriend didn't know about the ability and was just casually off in the other part of the house going "wait is it hunting already?" as it murdered me at the foot of the stairs lol. So glad for this video because I would've had no idea what it was otherwise.
If you look at the unedited Twitch chat, I kept telling you to click next so you would get the achievement. 😂 I got insta hunted and ran straight to my death, but when the game loaded out, I saw my time was 1 minute and 7 seconds and was initially bummed. Once I clicked next, I got the achievement. Glad you finally got it though! It’s definitely a tough one to get. Look forward to tomorrow’s stream. 🤘🏼
A spirit with water... like a Nixie! A river mermaid who lures people into water, loves singing, and a shapeshifter., could mesh well into phasmo world, especially with the lighthouse coming up :)

I like how it just happened completely unexpected. I obtained this Achievement too, on Willow Street. The Ghost did some Touches on the Basement Door and i wen't downstairs to turn the Fuse Box on. Suddenly, i heard the Ghost Humming upstairs and then moving. After realizing, that this is a Demon (was a Nightmare Mode Run), i rushed up the Stairs and the Ghost killed me. This Achievement ist very RNG indeed.

I remember one of my demon encounter. Whole team entered the house, less than a minute later lights were flickering. We thought it was just an event (we didn't bothered hiding), but my brother got slapped by demon. One of the fastest run ever 🤣🤣
Ngl, after reading the title and seeing that the intro is just a normal challenge introduction I was like "oh no no no, he doesn't know yet" to myself haha.
I saw the video title and thumbnail and I was saw the "Doom slayed" achievment which is claimed the hardest to get. I was unsure at first about if it is actually true because I got this achievment today when I was just playing in a random multiplayer lobby. (I was level 7 and all the other players were like very high level I think because they all had like all the equipments and they had fancy profile. And the difficulty was also on professional or higher I think). I am very new to the game honestly and I started watching your videos to learn about it. I saw the video you made about all types of ghosts which was extremly helpful. Anyways, back to what I was saying, so I was already worried and nervous because it was on much higher difficulty and I had close to no knowledge about any equipments beyond the level 7 items. And as soon as we got in the house to start with the investigation and literally within a minute, we got hunted. We all were quite close to each other but I have been very unlucky in this game because I die a lot! and the luck I have, the ghost caught me. I immediately knew it was a Demon becasue I remember from your video that demon is the only ghost which can hunt at any sanity levels. But yea I got the achievement after that. I am just laughing right now after finding this out that how unlucky or lucky someone may have to be to get this achievment lol.
I also got this achievement during my third game for this challenge, also from a hallway demon. In my case though, it hunted literally the second I walked through the door.
This achievement was a cakewalk to obtain when I was doing the XP farm that you made a video for awhile back on that Campsite map. Walked through the gate and instantly spawned on top of me.
I got this one yesterday. Much like you I was running round the house screaming "kill me, kill me". I caught up to it and got killed in exactly the same place as you. 1 minute flat. I thought the banshee one would have been harder because it involves playing with other people, and I don't like other people much. Having said that I lucked out and ended up with a nice bunch and our first (and last) game together was a banshee. Happy days 😊
Shortly after achievements came out was paired with some randoms on nightmare and the one guy with no mic ran in and triggered a cursed hunt immediately. The demon killed all of us before a minute elapsed. Didn’t realize how difficult this would be to get without some idiot and blind luck.
A cursed hunt is not an ability hunt though. Is the achievement bugged so cursed hunts count as ability hunts? Or did the demon coincidentally do an ability hunt right before that guy could trigger a cursed hunt?
@@mastod0n1 unsure, it was day 2 after achievements launched so unlock criteria might have been bugged. After I had died we found randoms body next to the cracked mirror. I figured it was the item that was the proc for the hunt.
I need to start playing phasmo again but there's so much new stuff and i feel like i'll actually just die from lack of new phasmo knowledge. Also i'm too addicted to lethal company to actually get back into my phasmo phase

I got the demon achievement the other day because, for some reason, my EA overlay decided to pop up over my phasmo game! ... just as a demon began hunting lol
I remember getting this achievement. Walked into tanglewood and got merced right in the foyer immediately upon entering. I didn't even have time to process what was happening, it just spawned on me and the round ended.
I am a new player (got the game 2 weeks ago) and got the Doom Slayed achievement today by pure luck while trying the leveling strat (and to learn how to determine ghosts during hunts). I thought was unlucky that the ghost immediately started the hunt on top of me resulting in me dying, as it happened before. I just randomly guessed Demon, as it was normal speed and then got surprised by the achievement.
My group and I were in tanglewood, on professional. I was going to the garage, I think checking temp.... and suddenly the hunt started. It started in the garage... and I died. My friends went "DEMON!" and left. I got 1 achievment, bestie was mad because of how hard it is to get lol. I still have not lived to a demon.... We have not seen one since...
got it as well but that reminds me on the great times back then, when I had no idea about the demon ability, just started the game out and died right away xD
I haven't got this achievement yet, but i got the Rev escape from a mimic who didn't even copy a Rev during the hunt. It was clearly not a Rev when hunting, but it must have changed to one after the hunt
I got the achievement the other day and i thought it was pretty funny. It was actually during this challenge too. I was with my buddy, and we walked upstairs. Within 30 seconds i was just dead. No warning, nothing, just dead. I ran over to him and just said i'm dead and then just collapsed Infront of him.
I love how you reacted to the time "investigating" what the ghost is, but not the time in the dark. Cause the Total time investigating is different and starts immediately after you spawn in.
I got the achievement accidentally on like my 5th ever run of the game cause I didn't know how the music box worked and dropped it after activating it.
The spirit box mechanic is to prevent cheese of using it on the other side of the wall (adjacent room) where is safer than in the room. But yeah, they should add an exception of line of sight as well for it.
I got it on my first demon, was playing nightmare @75 sanity, got hunted after finding the ghost room and getting ready to walk out, heard it walking, not thaye, and ran straight for it and made it in time. Also the poltergeist one I thought would be tough because I’ve NEVER seen it before in like 400 hours of play. But first poltergeist on the new update used its ability 6 TIMES in like 15 minutes and got the achievement. Seems like they boosted the abilities. At least for me.
i got poltergeist one on my first successful game. it was technically my second game but in my first one i guessed shade when it was a moroi even though iu knew it probably wasnt (had hunted me and my buddy twice) but i saw on the activity it went up to 5 so i thought that there was a correlation. turns out it has to happen alot and not just once
Played with a group on a higher difficulty we were use to, Nightmare. As soon as we got to the breaker we were dropping one by one because of the Demon's instant hunt. Glad I got the achievement but we never wanted to try it again from that rare experience.
So I think the way it works is that the "first minute" begins after you open the front door. Going off that knowledge, you technically died 54 seconds in. Congrats on this painful achievement
what are the odds that they talked about this and got it next game. sooo strange. i came back to phasmo still almost too scared to play. got hunted in 10 seconds. hid, left, and laughed at the easy contract. then i found out about the achievement. craaaaaaaaaaap.
I got this achievement by complete accident while playing with a group of friends. I was just looking around in the garage for the cursed object or bone on Willow, and the ghost hunted, and I thought it was a ghost event, so I went in no fear to try and get a picture, and immediately got killed when I walked into it. Not even a minute into the game haha
I find this achievement silly only because the last 12 (actual amount, not joking) Demons I've had ALL hunted me within' the first 2 minutes or less of the games they were in with each time being above 90% sanity. It started to happen to me often enough to where I was on a google search hunt trying to find out if demons were bugged or what the proc chance % of a ghost ability activating is or just any extra info about them. I don't know what their chance of using their ability is but I refuse to believe it's a low probability and can't be convinced otherwise.
@@uorimoon Same, which is why I now enter the houses with a smudge and thermo as to try and find the ghost room fast while having the smudge as a "just in case" on the off chance a demon tries to get me lol
I got it first game on the new update. I walked in, one of my buddies following close behind. The door instantly shut behind me locking me in and I died within like 5 seconds of the hunt starting.
my cousin literally got this not too long ago. we were helping him level up, match started, i told him he can go in last. he walks in and the ghost literally rips him a new asshole before his big toe even fully goes through the door
Had a mimic that was mimicing pretty normal ghosts until it decided to be a revenant, when we already ruled that one out, funniest mimic ever. Goryo is actually easy but not in solo, because you have headcam
I got the achievement about an hour after watching the stream yesterday. The door closed behind me as soon as l walked in so i went running to find the ghost. 11 seconds to achievement death 😂.
I got it accidently myself. I walked into the house, but immediately had to respond to my girl about something, I looked back and I was dead. Was mad about the death, but happy about the achievement.
one of my very first demons before this big update ability hunted me the second i walked in the door and i couldnt hunt in that house (cant remember which) for like 3 days after
Could have had this achievement but the edgefield map has the crucifix in the truck able to reach the upstairs master bedroom. We were all surprised to walk back and find the crucifix burned.
3rd round of Phasmophobia ever, I got a demon that hunted immediately after I entered the house and there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t wish I had let it kill me. It practically spawned on top of me within 10 seconds 😂
I knew demons could hunt early but not that early. I just stood there as he came towards me as I thought it was a ghost event. Guy proceeded to rip the skin off my face, Never trust a demon.
i got this achievement a week into playing the game (im new). i play with my two friends who are both prestige two, i walked in (willow st), made it to the first set of doors, and was dead.
you entered the house at 21:39 and died at 22:33 and then kicked out of the game at 22:51, so it seems like when the death animation starts is when you are considered dead and able to get the achievement
I got this my VERY FIRST GAME. Hopped on phasmo for the first time in VR knowing nothing about the game. Teammates go into the house and I follow them in. As soon as I get in the house I see hands in my face and I’m very fuckin confused. I’ve now played many hours and have only had a demon insta hunt a couple of times on me.
Well, I had this happen only twice in 150 hrs, once when i was about 24 lvl, and new to the game, and demon instahunted me before my friends even get a chance to step in. I didnt know how to hide back then, and i just sat in the corner and turned my back on him so i died quickly. And other time while i was doing christmas event. Now when they added this achivent, i probably wont be able to do that
Look, the idea of taking the Spirit Box response based on range instead of the room of the ghost is good but we'll be not able to identify the ghost room with the spirit box no more

When we first started the game before the big update and achievements, my buddy got cloths lined by a demon before I even got in the door 3 hunts in a row.. after that I declared him the demon detector.
I legit once died to a demon in less than a second on a custom difficulty when grinding. The grace was set to zero and the mf started hunting on top of me instantly as soon as I crossed the entrance door
So the spirit box tech would just be to have 2 spirit boxes, one in each room and standing in one of the rooms or the door to allow roaming a bit, just to ensure you can rule it out?
I annoyingly got this the other day. Got lucky that the ghost room was in the garage with the breaker, threw down my items to go get evidence ones and the demon appeared between me and the door, I totally thought it was a ghost event... until I died... I now always carry a Crucifix with me until I find the ghost room, drop it and promptly get a smudge and won't stop carrying a smudge until I know it's not a demon XD. It's legit got me paranoid.

touched front door at 21:40 ...touched the ghost at 22:34... you definitely got it.
and the loading screen pops up at 21:51, so I think it's safe to assume that the investigation time continues counting for a while after you die

I got the achievement accidentally on like my 5th ever run of the game cause I didn't know how the music box worked and dropped it after activating it.
The spirit box mechanic is to prevent cheese of using it on the other side of the wall (adjacent room) where is safer than in the room. But yeah, they should add an exception of line of sight as well for it.

I got the demon achievement a few days ago. I loaded up a solo professional game on wangle tood and died within 20 seconds. Boy was I confused 😂

I got it on my first demon, was playing nightmare @75 sanity, got hunted after finding the ghost room and getting ready to walk out, heard it walking, not thaye, and ran straight for it and made it in time. Also the poltergeist one I thought would be tough because I’ve NEVER seen it before in like 400 hours of play. But first poltergeist on the new update used its ability 6 TIMES in like 15 minutes and got the achievement. Seems like they boosted the abilities. At least for me.
i got poltergeist one on my first successful game. it was technically my second game but in my first one i guessed shade when it was a moroi even though iu knew it probably wasnt (had hunted me and my buddy twice) but i saw on the activity it went up to 5 so i thought that there was a correlation. turns out it has to happen alot and not just once
Played with a group on a higher difficulty we were use to, Nightmare. As soon as we got to the breaker we were dropping one by one because of the Demon's instant hunt. Glad I got the achievement but we never wanted to try it again from that rare experience.
So I think the way it works is that the "first minute" begins after you open the front door. Going off that knowledge, you technically died 54 seconds in. Congrats on this painful achievement

i came back to phasmo still almost too scared to play. got hunted in 10 seconds. hid, left, and laughed at the easy contract. then i found out about the achievement. craaaaaaaaaaap.
I got this achievement by complete accident while playing with a group of friends. I was just looking around in the garage for the cursed object or bone on Willow, and the ghost hunted, and I thought it was a ghost event, so I went in no fear to try and get a picture, and immediately got killed when I walked into it. Not even a minute into the game haha
I find this achievement silly only because the last 12 (actual amount, not joking) Demons I've had ALL hunted me within' the first 2 minutes or less of the games they were in with each time being above 90% sanity. It started to happen to me often enough to where I was on a google search hunt trying to find out if demons were bugged or what the proc chance % of a ghost ability activating is or just any extra info about them. I don't know what their chance of using their ability is but I refuse to believe it's a low probability and can't be convinced otherwise.
oh its definitely a decently high %. I usually ALWAYS get a demon to hunt me within the first minute, sometimes almost as soon as I enter the house.
@@uorimoon Same, which is why I now enter the houses with a smudge and thermo as to try and find the ghost room fast while having the smudge as a "just in case" on the off chance a demon tries to get me lol
I remember once dying at like 2 minutes 13, thinking it was pretty close, then 2 days later dying in 40 seconds
I got it first game on the new update. I walked in, one of my buddies following close behind. The door instantly shut behind me locking me in and I died within like 5 seconds of the hunt starting.
my cousin literally got this not too long ago. we were helping him level up, match started, i told him he can go in last. he walks in and the ghost literally rips him a new asshole before his big toe even fully goes through the door

Had a mimic that was mimicing pretty normal ghosts until it decided to be a revenant, when we already ruled that one out, funniest mimic ever.

I got this achievement at exactly 1 minute of investigation time on my first game of the day. I got insanely lucky, hehe.
I was killed by a Banshee in under a minute.... back when the Demon ability was the Banshee ability.
You spent 1:11 seconds total on the map, but, you had only been inside the house for 0:53 seconds, which is when the timer begins.
I got the achievement about an hour after watching the stream yesterday. The door closed behind me as soon as l walked in so i went running to find the ghost. 11 seconds to achievement death 😂.

Was mad about the death, but happy about the achievement.
Funny story. I've got this achievement in my second or third game. It was a shock for me that the hunt can start so early

My friend got this level his first time ever playing. About 1 minute into his first ever time paying he got absolutely demolished by the demon.
Could have had this achievement but the edgefield map has the crucifix in the truck able to reach the upstairs master bedroom. We were all surprised to walk back and find the crucifix burned.
3rd round of Phasmophobia ever, I got a demon that hunted immediately after I entered the house and there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t wish I had let it kill me. It practically spawned on top of me within 10 seconds 😂
I knew demons could hunt early but not that early. I just stood there as he came towards me as I thought it was a ghost event. Guy proceeded to rip the skin off my face, Never trust a demon.
My team actually managed to catch a mimic because the head cam is able to see orbs from the truck

i got this achievement a week into playing the game (im new). i play with my two friends who are both prestige two, i walked in (willow st), made it to the first set of doors, and was dead.
you entered the house at 21:39 and died at 22:33 and then kicked out of the game at 22:51, so it seems like when the death animation starts is when you are considered dead and able to get the achievement

I got this my VERY FIRST GAME. Hopped on phasmo for the first time in VR knowing nothing about the game. Teammates go into the house and I follow them in. As soon as I get in the house I see hands in my face and I’m very fuckin confused. I’ve now played many hours and have only had a demon insta hunt a couple of times on me.
Btw, we have done these challenges before. They just brought them back with the new equipment and raise the reward to 5000$.
Well, I had this happen only twice in 150 hrs, once when i was about 24 lvl, and new to the game, and demon instahunted me before my friends even get a chance to step in. I didnt know how to hide back then, and i just sat in the corner and turned my back on him so i died quickly. And other time while i was doing christmas event. Now when they added this achivent, i probably wont be able to do that

When we first started the game before the big update and achievements, my buddy got cloths lined by a demon before I even got in the door 3 hunts in a row.. after that I declared him the demon detector.
I legit once died to a demon in less than a second on a custom difficulty when grinding. The grace was set to zero and the mf started hunting on top of me instantly as soon as I crossed the entrance door
So the spirit box tech would just be to have 2 spirit boxes, one in each room and standing in one of the rooms or the door to allow roaming a bit, just to ensure you can rule it out?
I accidently got this achievement the day achievements got added to the game, I feel so accomplished
I annoyingly got this the other day. Got lucky that the ghost room was in the garage with the breaker, threw down my items to go get evidence ones and the demon appeared between me and the door, I totally thought it was a ghost event... until I died... I now always carry a Crucifix with me until I find the ghost room, drop it and promptly get a smudge and won't stop carrying a smudge until I know it's not a demon XD. It's legit got me paranoid.
