My mom and i love your videos! I had an idea for a challenge, though i doubt you'll see this XD We basically take turns "aiding" the ghost. It's called the Menace Challenge. Basically one person has a full minute to get set up and get started on finding the ghost. The other person, once the time is up, goes into the house and looks for the cursed object. The Menace cannot touch any evidence items unless it's to throw the item, such as throwing the writing book, yeeting the camera, etc. You can turn off the breaker, turn on or off lights, turn on radios, and lead people astray with evidence, etc. As the hunter, you cannot touch the cursed object. The hunter's goal is the get the ghost identified correctly without dying and make it to the van. The Menace's job is to kill the other person as fast as possible before they can identify the ghost. If you die and get the ghost right, it's a tie. It was SUPER fun, and i loved it XD

A change in video A could result in parts of video B, C, D, E, F, etc having parts of them that needs to be rerecorded and reedited. In that scenario, video editors do not scale cleanly and linearly. In fact, different video editors can introduce continuity errors as they don't necessarily individually know what happens in prior videos. This creates a whole new role where you need to hire people to proof videos and ensure said potential continuity errors are fixed before going live. This is what happens with development. New developer A touches Y system for halloween. Maybe he adds new ghost events. Old Developer X is also touching code on ghost events, maybe fixing bugs. Ahead of developer A finishing his changes Developer X pushes out a pull request and it's merged into production and pushed live. Developer A now has to update his code and potentially deal with what we call "merge conflicts". You can think of merge conflicts like continuity errors. Developer A and Developer X both made changes to the ghost events in the similar places. So now you have to figure out what the new continuity is (the new correct code that is a combination of both people's changes). This is a problem that can get out of hand very easily. Development isn't a simple straight forward process. Programming itself is actually a creative process. It's rare that 2 developers approach the same problem the exact same way. At a certain point you can essentially have "too many cooks in the kitchen". That's when you begin to split up teams by the systems they work on, rather than having teams work on overarching "projects". Extremely large companies with 1000s of employees generally work this way. There's a sound team, there's a physics team, etc etc. And none of this necessarily comes with an increase in speed on editing just 1 game. Rather it comes with a potential increase in output via working on multiple different games at the same time. Anyway, I hope that gives you some insight into why your comments about "Just hire another dev dedicated to this" don't necessarily hold up to scrutiny.
Yes I totally understand that. That's why you need very separate tasks. Someone working purely on events does not interfere at all (or minimally) with all the other work. That's why in this situation it would scale
I've had projects that are actually harder with more people lol. I like to use the analogy of having 4 chefs making a salad. Or having 4 people fly a plane at the same time
@@Insym Its also on-boarding. Company A does not do the same as Company B. A dev can take up to 6 months to be fully up to speed and become productive at work, AND it takes time away from other devs who now have to bring the new hire up to speed on meetings, the code base, etc. So for 3-6 months you lose an existing dev 50% of the time to get them up to speed. I don't know the culture of this game right now, but it sounds like they do possibly need more devs, they just needed it before they got into a slump of no updates for a long time. Bringing on a dev now would just slow the game down more even if it would help in the long run. Its a classic problem in the gaming industry. Slowing down to fix your game means little to no new content. Its a hard battle to fight, and it sounds like they didn't do it right either unfortunately. This is just coming from my own software engineering career, but as i said i am not sure on the culture of this game specifically, just trying to explain some of the background of software development.
Insym IDK how their offices are set up so I could be wrong here, but a fire in a shared office space isn't like your neighbor's house catching on fire, it's like your kitchen catching on fire. Also if they put out the fire with water there can be hazards from mold growth so they could have closed the entire building as a precaution. If the entire office space shares things like vents/doors between other spaces there could be smoke damage as well.
It's hard to consider events because I currently don't know what they would be. Dress up the lobby/maps? Change ghost noises, radio stations, etc to be themed? Actually that would incredible to be hunted by a Santa who goes "HO HO HO" during the grace period then chases you with jingle bell sounds. You sync the jingle bells with the footstep speed/volume to ensure integrity of ghost behavior. Easy peasy lets go.
I think you need to stand outside of the ghost room to test for a Banshee while solo now, if the ghost has DOTS. Although is seems a bit buggy still and they often walk all over the place, DOTS mode ghosts are meant to walk towards a player if they are in the room or within range or something like that (more testing required). Regardless, DOTS mode can somewhat mimic the Banshee ability and that's probably why the Yokai came to you. Holding the DOTS out while standing on the salt would also work to rule out a DOTS mode wander.
Did this challenge today with two other friends (3 members), desparately splitting equipment that gave us some visibility between us (torch, glowstick, camera night vision). On one run I found an orb on the computer before going in on the gym. Ended up being a gym Thaye, which requires DOTS (and writing). We got writing pretty quick, but we were going to just wait out a hunt to confirm it was Thaye rather than Mare for the DOTS (having spent the whole game in the ghost room), but eventually after like 15 minutes of waiting we finally got DOTS in the gym :D
I once had Hantu in the gym and for thew entire game the temps were below zero. The dude must have been some crazy speedy juiced up football mf when he was alive that game was crazy 😂
They should add a feature to add two ghost to hunt, obviously getting them to be distinguished from one another would be hard but I think it would be possible. Just have them share a hunt timer and even double the items you can bring. Would add a great challenge to people like Insym and make it harder for 4 man parties
Did this weekly challenge 5 times. 3/4 of us had it, another only had 1 of the challenge runs done. I ran in with the DOTS pen. Someone used a video camera. Another used the glowstick. Flashlight for the last one. I had the most map knowledge/could realistically run in with no light and feel my way around in the dark so I always went for the breaker. This helped significantly with navigation for the team.
I'd even take a temporary placeholder reward with a copy of last year's Halloween event, except being open to all difficulties. They just need to do something...
Lavender said in a stream that they are all working from home, partly because of the fire, but mostly because they are moving to a new, bigger office. So probably that slows down the whole process. :D
It's kind of difficult to criticize developers for not expanding and increasing development. It shouldn't feel like "their fault" the game was successful. They had a planned vision for a ghost hunting game - and it really took off. Now they're expected to do so much more because we all bought it? Even if that exceeds their initial vision? I don't think so. They're entitled to create the product they set out to create, and we all agreed to what we purchased, and little more, at the time we purchased it. That said it's a good idea for longevity and continuing to have an existing playerbase, draw more players, and genuinely make more money if they did expand though.
31:30 CJ confirmed on Twitter that he's trying to get a Halloween event done before the deadline, but no promises. And Dknighter confirmed on Reddit around a month ago they're planning on expanding the team, they're working / planning on moving offices soon (their current one is too small,) which has been eating time.
I was shocked with how successful it was for me. I got it in only 3 attempts. And in my second game, literally 1 minute after entering the building, it started hunting. And hunted multiple times even though I had high sanity. Easiest demon that I didn't even need to get a glimpse of. XD
I did this one three times in a public lobby! It was a super fun challenge splitting up the lighting items among 4 people. We never bothered to find the breaker lol. I will say the, the parabolic found us the ghost room 2 of the three times, but obviously with 4 people having 1 person holding the parabolic is very different from 1 person going in, ignoring all other items to find the room. Thankfully we never got a gym ghost!
I got quite lucky on this challenge. Mare, Rev, Deo. They were all in one of the two classrooms near the entrance. Took some time, but got them all. lol
The only complaint I have about this event is the map is just too big for solo players. With people it can be fun to split up and search for clues scooby doo style, but alone I ended up checking every room until I found it on the last hallway I looked each time. I still like the level but not as much fun alone.
Yo insym I watched both 1and2 episode of 7 days to die and I wanna tell ya your entertainment is all I need for my time break please continue the series
The way the new lighting system could work regarding the darkness is to make it so your character's eyes adjust to darkness based on how long you've been in a bright/dark environment. So let's say you're in a room, all lights are on, and then the breaker turns off. For the first few seconds you'll be practically _blind_ as your eyes aren't yet adjusted to the darkness, but give it 20 seconds or so and you'll have just enough visibility that it's as if you were using a worse version of the T2 headcam
Brownstone is hands down the most boring and entertaining map. It takes ages just to experience anything, and sometimes you won't even notice hunts, but the amount of funny shit you can pull is insane
The first few times playing Phas AND playing Brownstone, anytime the ghost started a hunt and I was nowhere near a classroom to hide in, I'd just immediately run to the front door and pray the ghost doesn't somehow see me out in the open 🤣
i had a gym ghost once. We could tell where he was in the building by following the sound of the bouncing basketball. Everywhere we went a basketball would bounce and roll out from his position. It was a weird, perfect glitch.
25:35 actually found it with the Tier 1 paramic for this challenge, it was surprisingly efficient. Ouijaboard and mirror also helped loads to get it done
MY First Ghost in this map yesterday was also a Shade! i had to look for what felt like HOURS. and then it ran at me as literally just a shadow on the ground. i was like "I uh.... huh... i think that's a Shade!" and sure enough!
idk if you will read this but i had an idea a bit ago what would it look like if you played with a friend who had never played phasma before. You could only give like, 3 tips per game or something and you gotta see how they progress
To enhance your Idea on the yearly trophys, maybe it would be interesting to have a badge like ingress did it: Every Ingress badge has 5 colored tiers, and every year on the game's Anniversary, they give out a yearly badge based on the level you reached in the game. So everyone get's tier 1, but if you levelled up, you get tier 2 to 5. So with Phasmo, these tiers could be tied to prestige ranges.
I got pretty lucky this week. I got ouija board twice and monkey paw once, got classroom 18 twice somehow and science classroom. Ghost types were banshee, spirit and thaye
The challenge was interesting the ghosts I got were a shade for the first round and was kinda obvious, second round was a Moroi and it gave evidence really fast and for the last ghost it was a myling that me and my friends never found the ghost room but we figured it out when it hunted a few times
I don't really play Phasmo myself, but do enjoy Insyms videos - but with the large rooms would placing the items near where the orbs spawned also be closer to the place the ghost spawns.? or having to collect some items and see where the ghost kicks them up for where to place the other items.? I would assume the ghost has a relatively set movement pattern, though could well be wrong here. . . :D
My biggest problem with teir 1 being the challenge items is that casual players are likely to still be on tier one or tier two. We play once, maybe twice a week and I'm only halfway through teir two. It would be nice if it was at least a mix of things so casual players get the ability play with something they aren't already stuck with. I love the update and everything, but it's really punishing to new players
when you play the console update, and you have to start fresh, that would be the prime time to play in random lobbies because no one will know who you are
I got the summoning circle on my third run as well. Almost used it, too. But decided to turn on the breaker first since it was really close, and on the way to the breaker I heard an interaction and found the ghost room. Whew
It's unfortunately the norm that darkness / lights are very unrealistic in pretty much all games. Also a match provides more light IRL than what the ingame one does, just stand in a completely dark room and see for yourself. Not with a monitor blasting light into the room Insym!!!
Disappointed in the response regarding the office fire. Even being witness to a fire that does not otherwise destroy your place of work or property can still be traumatizing and induce paranoia, not to mention there is a non-zero chance that either heat or smoke could have damaged their own work equipment. This is also not including any restrictions to entry they may have experienced as a result of fire and repairs that needed to be made to the other parts of the building. I'm also really disappointed in the lack of a halloween event. I would've rather had the new tiers get pushed pack than not have a Halloween event. Halloween and horror games go hand in hand, and this is the perfect time of the year to do /something/ to really promote the game. But I also don't think that an office fire is as flimsy an excuse as it may be perceived.
I’ve had that “items fall through the bottom door frame on high school” bug before. So annoying! Also, I was still a noob player during Halloween last year so I missed the trophy. I’m really really hoping that they run it back this year so I can earn it now. 🙏🏻
I played this on multiplayer - wasn’t too terrible if you know the layout because we split up and found the ghost room quick enough. I had flashlight, partner had UV or cam. We failed only one out of the three
I dunno, I used the T1 paramic for this challenge and we (my husband and I) found 2/3 of the ghosts using it. One discovery was through a whisper and the other was an interaction that my husband didn't hear but the paramic did. Is it great? Maybe not, but it definitely helped us and so isn't completely worthless. Also, the doorframes in High School are messed up. I lost a thermo into one, but tested exactly the same way on Bleasdale and it was fine. I think the HS doorways are just broken.
I have bad experiences with this map...once I had a shade, it was awful. Next time I had a small child myling, she scared the sh*t out of me in the corridor. Every time I was on a big map it was a disaster, I'm so unlucky :D when asylum still existed I went for only 1 mission, it was a shade waaaaaaay back....I found nothing, not even the ghost room only after 1 hour when the ghost act like a normal one and I had enough :D but it was long time ago, last time when I played this game was when deogen and the other ghosts added.
is posible to tell the devs to make that when the gosth manifest is posible to get light proves like uv or Dots, because is so odd that the gosth make himself visible but it doesn't get affected by the lights
I mean, a fire in a building (Depending on the size) can be really bad. Electrical problems for the whole building, the smoke alone could destroy or mess up the electronics, etc. It obviously depends on the situation, but yeah, 2 months is kind of a long time if nothing at all was destroyed and lost.
I got a gym ghost on this challenge as well. Thankfully was a banshee and was able to get the scream on the paramic. Was really scared to be there all day.
Multi-player was actually not bad i went around putting down the sound sensor while my friend would listen in the truck to find the room. Then he would bring a bunch of stuff in
I had it so easy. Survived all 3 rounds. Summoning Circle and Obake, then Monkey Paw and Deogen and then another Summoning Circle with another Deogen. I just got insta-hunted and finished the entire challenge in under 12 minutes.
The game has come full circle. We are now going room by room with the thermo to find the ghost once again lol

Any basic challenge: Exists
Devs: "Trash items! Go!"
thanksgiving event called "thankskilling", random chance for the ghost model to be a giant zombified turkey

Even in death, the teacher is still grading papers
I opened up RUclips and was going to search for Brownstone High School gameplay, but Insym already delivered.
I did this challenge and got 2 revs in a row
The roaming DOTS strat was INSANE to see! This was so fun to watch!
I once had Hantu in the gym and for thew entire game the temps were below zero. The dude must have been some crazy speedy juiced up football mf when he was alive that game was crazy 😂
the first time I got dots I was just holding the dots thing
lvl 1 but then I got convinced out of it and missed getting the ghost right 😂😂
first time ever seeing insym being scared of capturing a ghost loll
Itsdesmondlabro at 0:44 almost predicted the video length, nice one bro
32:48 for the thanksgiving event, the ghost is a giant turkey
I almost spat out my drink when Insym said:
"Where are you?"
"Are you here?"
"Are you close?"
"Are you... fuuuuck!"
11:06
13:46
Well. This certainly was NOT the plan.
I had a Shade in the gym for this challenge. I was saved from this torture by freezing temps appearing and ghost not hunting at 40% sanity

CJ confirmed on Twitter that he's trying to get a Halloween event done before the deadline, but no promises. And Dknighter confirmed on Reddit around a month ago they're planning on expanding the team, they're working / planning on moving offices soon (their current one is too small,) which has been eating time.
I did the easter event, got every map done, and we did it twice because we did it for a friend, and we never got our Easter 2023 trophy :(
I was shocked with how successful it was for me.
Thankfully we never got a gym ghost!
lol his face during the whole time interacting with the music box is so funny
I got quite lucky on this challenge. Mare, Rev, Deo. They were all in one of the two classrooms near the entrance. Took some time, but got them all. lol
Ghost: Hunting
Normal people: Stay very quiet.
Insym: HELLOOOOOOOO???
The only complaint I have about this event is the map is just too big for solo players. With people it can be fun to split up and search for clues scooby doo style, but alone I ended up checking every room until I found it on the last hallway I looked each time. I still like the level but not as much fun alone.
People who play Phasmo are the only people I see playing a Challenge Mode and then say "this is impossible why does it have to be so hard"
Imagine you had a gym moroi and got cursed to 0 sanity. That would’ve been an absolute disaster.
loved this challenge so much!!! love to see the rest of the raft series insym ! thanks for the fun❤
Imagine ghosts wearing Bavarian costumes during Oktoberfest and you could earn a bear mug trophy
22:28 do it just for the lulz and title it “making my dreams come true” 😂😂
Always love to see that Insym posted a new video
Fantastic job. Love it.
MY First Ghost in this map yesterday was also a Shade! i had to look for what felt like HOURS. and then it ran at me as literally just a shadow on the ground. i was like
"I uh.... huh... i think that's a Shade!" and sure enough!
idk if you will read this but i had an idea a bit ago
what would it look like if you played with a friend who had never played phasma before. You could only give like, 3 tips per game or something and you gotta see how they progress
I got so incredibly lucky with this challenge. Got Ouija Board, Monkey Paw, and Mirror and had downstairs classrooms for every ghost.
Me and my group played this in multiplayer. It was true pain. Using the dots projector as a light source is horrible
45:49 firesym 😂❤
GETTING DOTS WHILE WALKING. ICONIC.
Make CJ do this challenge with you!
I got 2 bathroom ghosts and a regular classroom ghost, sadly,my challenge this week was pretty uneventful
I lost my termo while doing one of the runs of this weekly ... "It Was At This Moment He Knew... He F`d Up "😁😅
20 minutes in to this video and I'm thinking that this might be the 2nd challenge where all 3 evidences aren't being given.
I got pretty lucky this week. I got ouija board twice and monkey paw once, got classroom 18 twice somehow and science classroom. Ghost types were banshee, spirit and thaye
18:48 me to my friends who haven't play the big update 😂😂
I hope phas gets a hallowen event so bad
This in multiplayer was rough... when you dont know the map😅 hahaha but we got it 3/4 tries
The challenge was interesting the ghosts I got were a shade for the first round and was kinda obvious, second round was a Moroi and it gave evidence really fast and for the last ghost it was a myling that me and my friends never found the ghost room but we figured it out when it hunted a few times
Hey CJ! New idea for hardest difficulty ghost! "Favorites Largest Rooms Only" as an option to have check listed.
There's a fun Japanese holiday where you throw beans to cast out oni.
when you play the console update, and you have to start fresh, that would be the prime time to play in random lobbies because no one will know who you are
Love your videos!!! Could you try Deciet 2 I think you may love it
i love playing high school but last time i tried it i literally got 3 gym ghosts in a row and 2 cafeteria ghosts. traumatized 😶🌫️
We failed only one out of the three
Phasmophobia goat right here boys
managed to catch a wraith in locker room for this challenge by putting the salt at the exit HAHAHHAHAH
The goat🐐 just uploaded-rip me in school💀
At some point I expect a player with this level of game knowledge to complain less and just work the mechanics.
I watched all your videos, bro and I think I need to take a break LOL
Don't worry Insym.. i have dreams about phas as well..
though tbh there more often closer to nightmares than what you had
I have bad experiences with this map...once I had a shade, it was awful. Next time I had a small child myling, she scared the sh*t out of me in the corridor. Every time I was on a big map it was a disaster, I'm so unlucky :D when asylum still existed I went for only 1 mission, it was a shade waaaaaaay back....I found nothing, not even the ghost room only after 1 hour when the ghost act like a normal one and I had enough :D but it was long time ago, last time when I played this game was when deogen and the other ghosts added.
I absolutely hate high school; there's too many rooms, and I spent hours just trying to find the ghost room.
Oh, the part where you lost the glow stick in the doorway, I lost the writing book inside a desk, developers be sleeping on physics.
That UV stick was so stupid lol
Get this guy to 1 mil subscribers he's so close!
I've never had a gym ghost, I feel cheated.
Talking about events.... Imagine a Jack o lantern skin for the tier 3 firelight as a Halloween event reward
is posible to tell the devs to make that when the gosth manifest is posible to get light proves like uv or Dots, because is so odd that the gosth make himself visible but it doesn't get affected by the lights
Gotta say, matches work way better when it's pitch black
got a gym ghost, luckely that was a raiju, other ghost was relativly close to enterance and pretty active so i found them in 2 minutes wo cursed items
