I am always so frustrated with trim bands. I can’t believe I’ve never seen or thought of putting a drop of varnish between the tag ends. That’s a lifesaver. Thank you!

I meant signature wraps, by the way. And I added that comment before the trim band portion of the video. This is a very helpful video for a self-taught rod builder.

Wish I had viewed this sooner....Very good information and great demonstration. Thank you for sharing all the videos on this subject. Question....Is it common to find non-signature vintage rods? I have no idea what one of my 9 foot rods weight is. Is there a formula to determne?

He's using silk; and, I've heard-of using nylon; but, would POLYESTER work as well?

Great videos. Where can I get replacement guides for an old bamboo rod?

Can one use Hard as Nails to seal silk? I've done this, let it soak in, then wipe the excess off with my fingers. After dry, I apply a coat of varnish. Your thoughts? Ron
