    How the heck can I be in my 60's and not know how to sew a button on correctly? You've taught me a new skill again! Catherine (its hard for me to not call you Cathy) you are the best!

      Oh my goodness! You took the words right out of my head. When I think of how long I’ve been sewing, over 60 years, it’s refreshing to learn not only a new technique but a better way of sewing.

      I cannot believe that I too am over 60 and have sewn many buttons in my time, but have truly learnt something today. You are an amazing sewer and like many others on here, just love your videos 🥰🥰

    I'm a 44 years old man, I have been sewing every now and then for years, ever since I was a kid and I would do an ok job, but today I learned how to sew a button like a pro following all the steps you showed and I'm amazed how good it looks!
    Thank you so much for this! I've really learned a very useful thing today and it will come in handy for the rest of my life! Thank you!

    I've been sewing since I was 8 yrs old & that is the best way I've ever seen to sew on a button! Glad to learn how to do it better!!! Thank you for all your awesome videos. LOVE your ideas & easy to follow instructions!

    I loved that we quadrupled the thread so it took less time to sew the button on and liked that we hid the know. Thanks for the great tips!

    I took way longer than you, but once I finished I felt completely relaxed and focused. Must be what knitting feels like, thanks for helping me fix my pants!

    Thank you so much for such a helpful and clear tutorial. You’ve shown me that I’ve been sewing buttons for over 30 years WRONG! I’ve been putting the toothpick or match underneath the button through the stitches and it’s very difficult; how I wish I’d been putting it on the top where it is demonstrably far better. Well, you know what they say, it’s never too late to learn and I shall be doing it your far more sensible way in future. I’m enormously grateful, thank you!

    Terrific! I have been sewing since I was 11 (am now 71) and I am learning lots of great things from your videos. I would love to see a video where you make an improve knit tunic with uneven hem using different knits? Thanks!

    Many many thanks! I had remembered seeing something about using multiple threads like this somewhere, so I did a youtube search and your wonderful video came up. Facing having to sew on 8 buttons to a jacket I altered for my grandson didn't sound like a fun morning for me, especially since I knew my little domestic sewing machine couldn't handle doing them. This was a breeze with your tutorial!

    Thank you for this video! I am crocheting a Frog and Toad set (from the books) for my son’s 4th birthday, and the buttons on their jackets looked so messy. I found this video and applied it to the crochet stitches, and it looks so much better!

    I have a linen dress and the button seems to be pulling the fabric and creating a gap, and also pulling the fabric awkwardly. Do I need a small button under, in the backside of the button panel? How can I fix this?

    Does anyone know why she puts the toothpick in to create more space? Why do we need the extra space?

      Hi, sometimes you need extra space if the fabric is thick, like on a jacket or coat.
