He’s 16! He may not end up in the NHL until he is 21 if he plays in the NCAA, assuming he gets there, but with 5 years to develop, the potenital is high. As they say, you can’t teach someone to be tall.
Hockey is not basketball. Skill and speed is WAYYYYY more important than size (to a certain extent). Once you are 5'10", 6', 0" and extremely fast and skilled, the extra height and weight is not necessarily a benefit. Not to mention getting underneath other players with your stick and body is the name of the game with hockey. If he is fast, if he is extremely coordinated, he can be a good defensemen. but the skill and speed need to translate or the height is not a factor in him developing.
Forwards have to go around or through defenseman. The guy's wingspan and massive stick reach are going to make that difficult no matter how fast you are. And at 275 pounds any collisions are going to go his way.
Charas late childhood was like all the time just training and practising, this Moldovan should be doing the same every single day with no freetime if he wanted to succeed like Chara did.
whats that a 20 ft wingspan on the kid may have to learn how to take the body ,he is so much bigger than other players at the moment NCAA will have a few 6,4 players to level up
I played with a kid being abnormally taller than his opponents and half the penalties he would receive would be completely incidental just be due to being so much bigger. Might be the same case for this kid. a simple shove from this kid may feel like a big hit from regularly sized players
1:09 i love how all these channels across all sports do this same terrible intro, of make a point, then fade in terrible keyboard music underneath, then cut to title or just jump right in,,, like i could name 50 channels off the top of my head that all copy each other
the most promising part is he doesn't MOVE like the big lanky prospects in most sports that move like a baby giraffe, I hope he sticks with it because NCAA needs some big scrappy boys
Probably from 6'5" up height starts to work against you especially in modern hockey. And at 7' you have the additional downside of being so long you get injured easily. Hockey is an especially bad sport because of the physical nature. Being so lanky makes you very vulnerable.
My favourite part is when he scores the goal and the kid (who is probably a very reasonable height) has to launch himself into Karmanov's arms
I was happier to see that he could catch a kid like that while on skates. His ankles/knees/back must be in good shape, which isn't a given at that height.
i really hope carmanov makes it. would be fun to watch
If he produces enough he might go in the later rounds, but the scouts are probably going to look and see if his skating progresses at all
I was thinking the same, probably the 5th round on is where he could be taken if at all?
Chara was a horrible skater early in his career.
He must get a lot of high sticks !? When he winds up for quick lil a snapper his stick will be almost head height for other players.

@@chevelle1 You are most likely right. Probably the best comparison is Zdeno Chara who didn’t get his act together until he was 25 or so.
🎯
Forwards have to go around or through defenseman. The guy's wingspan and massive stick reach are going to make that difficult no matter how fast you are. And at 275 pounds any collisions are going to go his way.
Charas late childhood was like all the time just training and practising, this Moldovan should be doing the same every single day with no freetime if he wanted to succeed like Chara did.
Sweep the leg, Johnny.
Future Hab
The ' goes in front of the numbers, not after. You are replacing 2008 with 08, hence '08 is the correct way to put this.
He seems like an Islanders kind of draft pick
Chara wasn't the fastest skater ever. & he did well, with the proper teachers and coaching, he can definitely turn pro.
whats that a 20 ft wingspan on the kid
may have to learn how to take the body ,he is so much bigger than other players at the moment
NCAA will have a few 6,4 players to level up
He should become a goalie.
I assume he has to have equipment and uni's made for him?
Moldova? Sounds like a suburb in Cleveland.
I played with a kid being abnormally taller than his opponents and half the penalties he would receive would be completely incidental just be due to being so much bigger. Might be the same case for this kid. a simple shove from this kid may feel like a big hit from regularly sized players
Key-shin-ow
Why does that thumbnail look like tom brady as a young child?
Reminds me more of Jesse Puljijarvi 😂
I AM GAY AND PROUD
1:09 i love how all these channels across all sports do this same terrible intro, of make a point, then fade in terrible keyboard music underneath, then cut to title or just jump right in,,, like i could name 50 channels off the top of my head that all copy each other
@@lunardestruction Womp womp
As of this moment he looks glacially slow. He’s only 16 so we need to give him more time to develop.
He'll need to learn to skate before he's even a consideration.
But can he skate? Even Bol was basically an oddity with some use
He looks so awkward when shooting and still fires it decent, imagine if he actually could put his full weight and power into it.
the most promising part is he doesn't MOVE like the big lanky prospects in most sports that move like a baby giraffe, I hope he sticks with it because NCAA needs some big scrappy boys
7"7 When he's 21
Probably from 6'5" up height starts to work against you especially in modern hockey. And at 7' you have the additional downside of being so long you get injured easily. Hockey is an especially bad sport because of the physical nature. Being so lanky makes you very vulnerable.
maybe he can be a fulton reed lol
