I truly believe Ryan Dorin is one of the best creators on RUclips. Thinking “out of the box” doesn’t even begin to describe it. He is on another level of originality and his stories are so captivating and emotionally compelling. The music makes the entire RatBoy Genius universe so special to me, and I am so happy that he continues to create for it
I always shed a tear when LKJ and RBG meet in the flood. The pain and betrayal these odd, quirky, datavoiced 3-d mice are able to convey astounds me
i first saw potato knishes when it has just 10k views. it was a joke to me at first then i watched the rest of the ratboy genius series and i realized it was pure art...
ya know as much as i love rbg i miss the old series where itd focus on separate stories like The Flood or Happymans opera

This is one of Worthikids best videos, introduced me to the many series and made me appreciate Ratboy Genius. Little King John's flood arc is genuinely beautiful.
Fun fact: Ryan Dorin also played the twelve-fingered pianist in Gattaca. (No, I don't know if he actually has twelve fingers in real life, and honestly it's none of my business unless he chooses to share that information.)
he has 13 fingers but they used modern technology to edit one out

the first ever one, then dreams minecraft pilot episode, continue on from there, return to a few more ratboygenius episodes, do galactic superheroes then happyman opera, then the flood and starship genius. if you want watch the rest of the ratboy's kingdom and side ones like fan art tributes, magic flute, rbg/lkj show, the intermissions and if you're really getting goofy with it go for the obscure ones like waiting for to go
whatever you do, watch galactic superheroes with her BEFORE starship genius, due to the Young Mouthbottom plot twist.
Also at least try to watch some happyman opera to introduce her to Bob.
Show her the ones where RBG & Baby have sweetness dialogue. Their love is pure

Is rat boy supposed to be a kids show thing? Or supposed to be a surreal and disturbing series like don’t hug me I’m scared.
I’m just wondering and I need an answer.
The creator actually majored in music and he was just bad at 3d modeling at the beginning he got better at 3d but kept the surreal style because it was iconic and gained a lot of traction he's also said ((I'm paraphrasing although what he said goes a lot like: I know it looks weird but everything is a little weird when you look at it)) so I'm assuming that he made the series because he wanted to show off his music/writing/epic Minecraft builds but he probably didn't have an audience in mind so I'd say it's family friendly
(Also yes I'm aware of the long response lmao)
I think it leans more towards the wholesome side, despite the visuals understandably being off-putting for some
It is something that a kid could watch it's just that the art is strange
it's probs for kids but then there's stuff like:
KILL THE PLANET!
and goddamn frequency vibrations
It is family friendly: the show wasn’t made for kids, but it’s appropriate for them to watch and enjoy. I think in the vein of Star Trek , where it gets into some heavy things but the heart of the show is wholesome.
