So glad it is being saved.
Nice to see that this property is being preserved. This house has a story to tell and I am sure very welcoming of it's guests. In those days they made houses to last.👍👍💪💖💖💖
Wow yhat house is 221years old and still standing.
Nice heritage property 😮😮😮 good its being preserved 😎🤟
If walls could talk, bet this house has history.. Sad, not able to see inside + could not read the sign in front............
The sign in front just says that it's in the process of being renovated.

I thought 💭 the exact same thing...although we are the truly nosey ones that will fess up.
Nice to see it'll be restored 😎🤟
Thanks for including the Wiki link. Interesting history. It will be exciting to see it once the preservation is done. The wide siding is not original. I love the portico.
Thank you. Great clip.
Wow, it's gonna be so beautiful again once it's restored to its natural beauty!❤
In all likelihood the porch was added in the 1880's. The front would have had a stoop with boot scrapers. The central hall would have been where people would get out of their coats and such.
Thank you❤
Interesting. No such hard shingles until 1950’s.
@@rbsmith3365 True but there were people using it as their home up until 2018. I would think they'd be more interested in having a leak free roof rather than preserving authenticity. Now that the preservation process has begun, I imagine that might change
*asbestos
@@danielkoher1944 I noticed the typical asbestos siding, too. My little house has an addition with asbestos. The asbestos must be carefully removed and properly disposed of.
I wonder how much was added on to the house over the years and what is original.
I'm not sure but my guess would be that the back kitchen area was most likely added on later. I know that the house, at one time, had a detached kitchen. I believe it still exists on a different property, the reason being that the Nancy Jones House was moved and doensn't sit oon its original location.
I’m assuming the front porch is Victorian , and therefore, an addition. I would keep the porch; The porch is well proportioned and part of the houses history.
