Nightwish is a Finnish symphonic power metal band, formed in 1996 in the town of Kitee, in eastern Finland. Nightwish is considered one of the bands responsible for the development and rise in popularity of symphonic metal at the end of the 1990s, as well as the creation of the subgenre symphonic power metal. Although the band has been prominent in their home country since the release of their first single, "The Carpenter" (1997) and debut album Angels Fall First, they did not achieve worldwide fame until the release of the albums Oceanborn and Wishmaster, which were released in 1998 and 2000 respectively.

I'm noticing a lot of hate for Annette. I prefer Tarja and Floor but she is talented though. She gets right all the notes and she sound very similar to the studio. It's normal if a singer is not PERFECT during a live performance. If you werent blinded by your hate you would recognize that she is a great live singer

Anette is absolutely amazing, Floor is perfect and Tarja - one love! - all my longtime Nightwish journey is largely possible thanks to Tuomas's brilliant songwriting, as he helped each of the girls to perform at their best

@@sirencall8073 Look at Tarja album ratings and Anette album ratings. They are much higher with Tarja. In addition, sales have nothing to do with the quality of the album. The fan will buy everything from his favorite band after audition will assess. Tarja and Floor concerts are also important here, they have much better live voices than Anette. :)
The rest of the scale of Anette's voice is mezzo-soprano, while Tarja's voice is a lyrical soprano and Floor is a dramatic soprano. So selling CDs is a poor argument. Whatever Tarja can use 3 octaves of voice, in turn Floor can sing high opera parts and growl. :)

Hamster Munchies Rofl, have u been in a scenario with a metal band and actually sing ur notes in these hard songs (at least my voice isnt for this song, I can sing Ever Dream but I not this one, lol) AND YET, having to do "something" while there is just music?, and in these kind of songs there are a lot of seconds where you dont sing... I dont know but I still have problems with that, more if u dont want to always do headbanging, at least she found a way to do it, go watch Simone Simons from Epica and she used to look completely lost when she was not singing on the stage. Is hard dude :/

Es que si revisan los anteriores conciertos, mas precisamente los del 2007, su vestimenta era completamente distinta. Lo que sí creo, que no se sentía cómoda ella misma con ese vestuario.

This is probably the worst Nightwish performance I have ever had the misfortune to hear. Both Marko and Anette were off pitch at times. Emppu was asleep and missed part of a riff. Jukka seemed OK and Tuomas was doing his thing, but overall it was sloppy. People hate on Anette for her live performances, but this song shows that the blame can be shared.
Anette has a lovely voice and sings her heart out, but she doesn't have the power nor the endurance to stand in front of a metal band in a live performance for 90 minutes. The sound engineer could've helped, but what we're seeing here is the band playing down to her level. This is not her fault, rather it's the fault of those who hired her.
Listen to some of Tarja's live performances and, despite Tarja having more power than Anette, we still see some of the same problems as Tarja's vocals would occasionally get lost in the mix. At times Tarja looked like she was mailing it in, staring woodenly at the back of the venue, while putting no effort into the music. The guys behind her would just be playing their instruments mechanically, looking like they all would rather be elsewhere.
Many people say that Floor saved Nightwish and we only have to look at performances like this one to see the truth in that statement. They all have to be on their game when Floor is on stage.
