👋🏻👋🏻. Glad that you managed to book a telephone appointment with your doctor 👍👍. Friday 13th today lol. Every Friday13th the bikers all ride into Port Dover, they will be needing heated motorbike seats today as it is only -7C here today …..brrrr lol. Hope that David manages to get the toilet situation sorted out soon. Always the way isn’t it you think it’s just a replacement job and it turns into a major project. Take care, stay safe, stay sane and keep smiling. Judy🇨🇦🇨🇦🍷🍷

In England bikers mothball their bikes until the spring.
The toilet was responsible for all this work in the bathroom in the first place, I just don't trust it Judy.

@@trevorpat-lifeontherunThe news reported that just a few dozen bikers turned up in Port Dover this Friday 13th lol. No thundering in, just a rumble this time. Just too darned cold.

Thanks for chat its hard when everywhere is in a muddle and although you want to help there's nothing you can do. When Christmas arrives what ever is left down tools and enjoy the day your all together as family and that's what counts. (Hope the toilet gets done)

Hopefully it will all get sorted soon Trevor. These modern toilets are so difficult to fix. That's why I won't have one. Looks nice but when they go wrong you can't get to them to fix them without major demolition!!! Then when you need a new one, the design has changed and nothing fits!! All made to make sure we keep spending our money! At least you have finally got a telephone appointment with a doctor, so I hope that goes ok for you. May see you tomorrow, bye!

Our Doctors in Burghead closed down altogether and we've to go 6 miles to Lossiemouth now, that's ok if you have a car otherwise its 2 buses and a 25 mile round trip which is not good if you're feeling ill. Its the way of the world now unfortunately. 😢

Many or maybe most Drs surgery are run as business. We have a few GPs at ours that have bought into the surgery partnership, the NHS usually funds the building, pays the surgery approx £180 per head for each person registered each year (possibly may vary depending on location) regardless if you use it or not. My husband saw a Consultant privately earlier in the year as suggested by our GP rather than wait 50 weeks to see the same guy on the NHS, our GP arranged it, waited just 3 weeks to see him and paid him £250. Well worth it for peace of mind, hopefully it freed up an appointment that someone on NHS list could benefit from. Ask a painter and decorator what brand paint he uses...that's the best stuff.

I really appreciate your insight! It’s always helpful to hear about personal experiences in navigating the healthcare system. Your perspective adds a lot to the conversation
      which I find very informative.

@trevorpat-lifeontherun Pleased to be able to help Trevor and to be fair we didnt really know how the system worked either. Husband has an issue with lower spine, may need treatment/op in the future, he can have that on the NHS. Private appointment just speeded up the diagnosis as 50 weeks is a long while to wait. That particular GP although young is very old school in his ways, listens to you, makes suggestions which helps a lot.

Friday 13th today. Renewal of bathroom fitments causes such upheavel. I have a concealed cistern behind a countertop, and the flush stopped working, had to throw a bucket of water down to flush as this was my only toilet until my son could sort it. Does the tortoise hibernate?

No Ernie doesn't hibernate Pauline, apparently it's a risky business, they can die.
We sure do miss this toilet.

Almost a year ago one of my sons had to be taken to hospital from work, he's a pe teacher at a school and a sports coach several nights a week. Well something happened to his knee whilst working, this was the 2nd time it had happened, the hospital said he needed an op but they couldn't do it for 18 months approximately, so he explained what he did for a living and they told him he would have to go private to get it done earlier. Anyway he then got an email from another hospital that we know is private, so my son said He didn't earn enough to go private, well somehow they made it that the private hospital would do the op and NHS would still pay. He had the op 22nd of December last year. He's doing very well and still having a bit of physio. Xx
