I planted a blood good Japanese maple 3 yrs ago & has grown beautifully. I almost killed by burying it too deep. Now I just recently got the summer gold. You have a great collection. Thanks for sharing.

Such a gorgeous collection. I have 9 at the moment and still growing . Lost many in the past and I still moan about the loss.
After seeing your collection I will certainly be adding some more beauties. I avoided buying green ones thinking they stayed green. Only recently knew most if not all acers turn red or orange in autumn. Great video. Please keep making them.

Wonderfully trees . Thanks for sharing . There is lots of advantages to keep the pots burried on the ground but I wonder how do you manage a good drainage .

      Hi Luiz
Yes I drill at least 4x 15mm holes in the bottom of the container then put 50 mm of 20mm gravel or flint stones . Then i would use a mixture of compost, sharp sand and potting gravel.
      Happy to help thanks

As a fellow bonsai artist, I struggle with how to label Japanese maples which I collect in my yard. One parent is certainly Bloodgood, but the resulting seedling is clearly an unrelated cross. I'm with you Terry, 'enjoy what you have'.
I have a seedling which behaves like Neve Starfish. I hope to find another.

Hi Sir I am from India nd I jst wanted to know that can we grow japanese here in India...and I am unable to find the plants so how can I get these plants...

Hi Sumit, You should be able to grow Japanese Maples . You just have to create the right conditions , ie not too much direct sunlight ,shaded area or dappled sun is best.
Maples do not like wind , they also need free draining soil so the soil stays damp but not sitting in water. As for purchase of the plants, i have no idea of the Indian supply. We buy ours from garden nurseries such asBarthelemy and Co in Dorset . I do not know if any of them delivers Internationally . Regards T.M.Morgan,

@@sumitsourav838 Greetings from the States, Sumit.
I believe that Japanese Maples struggle in tropical to semi-tropical climates.
      I hope this helps.
