    At my 1000mi oil change I was chatting with the 2 service reps at the dealership. Both younger-ish guys and super friendly and one was even a WRX guy and they pretty much said do a catback and nothing else as far as warranty is concerned. They confirmed Subaru has really stiffened their stance on mods recently. I'll have some more detailed questions for them next service, specifically the tmic. Thanks and keep the videos coming.

      Remember also they are giving you canned dealer responses. I would say you a fine with a TMIC

      My dealership here said anything that effects the engine/turbo back pressure will void the warranty, including the axleback exhaust I now remove before servicing at the dealership lol

      i asked when i buying the car and they gave me the same response. They said an exhaust is fine but anything else and you could end up getting screwed.

    Just got a 23 leftover with an 80,000 mile warranty. It’s got so much potential and I want to do some simple mods, but maybe I’ll just wait a while.

    great video actually, I remember when I made comments about doing intakes and what not he was basically straight up saying no due to tuning etc. I personally just wanted to throw coils, new wheels or rims, new foglight bezels to replace the heavy plastic oem ones and a catback exhaust. Unsure if like a varex system or a r400 would void. Since you mentioned tapping into the cars electrical I'd be curious to understand if the varex valve system would cause issues for voiding such warranty etc. Love to know what you're opinion would be on that too. Cheers

    Subispeed did a dyno test with Perrin, AEM, and ETS intake, and the perrin according to the dyno test was closes to the stock and ran safely. Another commenter on that video said he had the perrin for 30k miles no issues. It could be safe to say the perrin CAI is safe, but of course the tune would get you better performance.

    What about the Sti group N drivetrain mount package? I asked the warranty department at subaru twice, and they've never gotten back to me.

    Interesting that you decided not to dive a little deeper into the whys as it would extend your video out to 10 mins, which is good for you. But oftentimes acceptance/denial warranty claims may vary by dealership

    You can get around it. Subaru let's you pick where you get your car serviced. So the service provider ( tuner ) takes on the engine warranty.

    how about mounts, carriers, bushings, sway bars, parts designed to stiffen up the car, etc.? i feel like subaru could at any time just point to any modded part and say "yep that caused it".

      Honest take, it's not worth it. If you want to do an intake, send it, if not, you are gaining nothing essentially.

      @rtpugh are you talking about the charcoal filter? Others that have reported it said they felt more responsiveness from the pedal but that it might also be a biased. I removed mine and I got slightly more turbo noises (+KN), response quicker imo

      Didn't notice much removing the charcoal filter and putting in Perrin drop in, maybe added a few hp. Adding the Cobb intake pipe heard it frees up some power

    My dealership said anything that effects the engines performance or turbo back pressure on the engine will void the warranty. In other words: axle back exhaust.

    • @AutoEnthusiast
      @AutoEnthusiast  9 месяцев назад

      I don’t think we have ever seen a warranty denial for an axel or catback, and if they did they likely went to court over it. But go at your own risk

      @jefferys9593 10 месяцев назад +1

      AOS and catch can fall in the same category. They can deny a warranty claim.
      Lame because it is taking oil out of the intake air that would get sent to the intake valves fouling them up over time 🙄

      I would say generally yes, but again remember it has to do with systems, they would lose a fight if it came to it for an ac comp issue and an AOS, but if your engine failed, whole diff can of worms

      What I was told they'll deny anything on the car todo with oil system

    • @BOOSTEDDESIGNSWRX
      @BOOSTEDDESIGNSWRX Месяц назад

      Its because they cant say the aos messed with ac. Hence they need to prove that the aos would be at fault to be denied. This is also true about anything else, if you do an intake and they deny they need to show you where the intake made x y and z fail. @AutoEnthusiast
