    She looks good so far bro! I have a Chevy SS n i got the Kooks LTH with cats and Kooks Xpipe to stock mufflers. So I would definitely go with Kooks. It sounds perfect at WOT! And since its my daily it sounds quiet at idle and daily driving. Ill be posting a video soon of a little walk-around. Cant wait to see what else you do homie!

    Just crate LS3 swapped my gt. Lifter failed on mine as well but slightly different. Lifter tray failed causing the lifter to spin. Hope you did some research when you made the swap. the stock oil pan on the L76 is a lot better then stock LS3. Only downside you have to buy a 10$ plug for the high pressure that went along with AFM. I did it myself which was a blast. Love the lights and wheels. Will most likely get both. What brand were the wheels? I have 19s but I love the way the car sits on them.

      It was about 90k-ish when it failed. It wasn’t due to the DoD tho mine was already canned. It failed with LS7 lifters which were known to fail as well unfortunately. Thanks! 🤙🏼

      @@Tanner_Teves OH okay. Nothing has been done to the motor on ours. I guess stock lifters were L76?

    • @Tanner_Teves
      @Tanner_Teves  8 месяцев назад

      @VidTubeWatch Stock lifters on the L76 are DoD lifters, which means they have springs on them to move up and down which then will allow either 4 cylinders to activate to save fuel or 8 cylinders to make the most power. Issue with these DoD lifters is they tend to fail too.

    Hey man! You should definitely look into rcr cams! (Rick crawford racing) he had the fastest n/a g8 in the states if not the world!!! He really knows his stuff, I had a btr cam in previous build and had rick custom grind my current one I got 503 to the wheel n/a with a rcr cam that's easy on parts...

    • @Tanner_Teves
      @Tanner_Teves  Год назад

      I have definitely been considering his too, the only problem is his serious cams need higher stall torque converters. Since mine is only a 2600 I couldn’t really get his beefier cams but I’m really trying not swap that converter out. The BTR one would work well with my torque converter. But I will do more research about the RCR ones!

    Nice car man. One of the mods I'm waiting to do on my G8 GT is swapping out the diff to a 3.27 diff from a Camaro SS and using Poly/Delrin bushing on the rear cradle to stiffen it up. The last thing for this years is gonna be rebuilding the engine. Trying to figure out if I want a stock rebuild or find a 383 or 408 stroker kit.

    • @Tanner_Teves
      @Tanner_Teves  Год назад

      Man I totally forgot to mention that mod…but I have a 3.45 diff out of a 5th gen SS with poly bushings 😂. Can’t believe I missed that lol, 3.27 is a good choice too! My L76 had a 408 stroker kit in it and it was awesome (before it blew up lol)

      @@BOYinFIELDIt was fun, just gave me a lot of low end torque. The camshaft that was paired with it wasn’t the biggest so I think a bigger one would have made it shine more. Honestly if I were to start a build from scratch on a L76 G8 I’d just do full bolt ons, DoD delete, and an LSA. Way more performance and less work

      Yes it did break even after it had a DOD delete done. However, the previous owner went with LS7 lifters when the DOD delete was done and those were also known to fail and have the same fate as the DOD lifters. So, get some Johnson Racing lifters instead and you’ll be fine 👍🏼

    I wouldn't bother lowering it, it makes it horrible to daily drive, I lowered cars in my early 20s (slammed e36 m3 on coils, absolutely horrible to daily)... once you get a little older you realize it is such a waste of money and not worth it. The engine and HP are always worth it though. Better off refreshing the suspension with stock or better equivalent components and keeping the ride height, no one except car snobs ever notice fender gap anyway. Also there is something to be said for the stock engineering design on the suspension on all cars, usually the factory engineers had it right to begin with. Hope you listen! Car looks like 100k either way dont worry about the paint too much, drive it!

    • @Tanner_Teves
      @Tanner_Teves  Год назад +1

      I’m not gonna slam it, I will be lowering the front maybe half an inch and keeping the rear about the same. The coil overs will mostly be for handling, I’d say nowadays you’re probably right about the engineerings getting it right but this is 2009 GM we’re talking about, it can definitely be improved.

    • @slinkus-dq4co
      @slinkus-dq4co Год назад

      @@Tanner_Teves Yea I mean coils are better for the track, you just might find that the car is more fun to drive with a stock ish suspension on it because it can take bumps better, etc. For me driving on coils for 5 years then switching back, I realized it was more fun and comfortable to drive on the street with a stock suspension because I didn't have to worry about bumps as much, I just put the throttle down and forget about it now. Also easier on the car not getting the strut towers beat on. If you are tracking it then different story.

    • @wigletron2846
      @wigletron2846 Год назад

      @@Tanner_Teveswhat coilovers were you looking at? I was looking at the Pedders Xa but I've heard there's spring rate issues with basically all aftermarket coilivers for these. Lots of people like the Caprice shocks + Tein springs now. Firms up the ride without making it brutal and the springs have only a mild drop 1" front and 0.5" rear I believe.

    • @Tanner_Teves
      @Tanner_Teves  Год назад

      I was looking to do H&R coilovers, but might also stick with stock struts and just go lowering springs. Haven’t fully decided yet haha

    • @wigletron2846
      @wigletron2846 Год назад

      @@Tanner_Teves a lot of people say the stock shocks with lowering springs are fine if you do sway bars, rear cradle bushings, and the front strut mount bushings. Might be worth doing especially on a daily driver.
