The Burnley game was such a relief. A far cry from a triumph...but confirmation that Son is better on the left, Skipp might not be the answer as LB, Bentancur is the most positive DM we have, we need a right winger that will have Kulu/Brennan fighting for the one free spot, VDV is the boss!

  • @seunghunbaik5525
    @seunghunbaik5525 Месяц назад +6

So many things to unlock again. Maddison, and Bentancur looked a lot better than previous games. Romero’s commitment is unmatched. Son was creating a lot from the left two games in a row. VDV was running so fast after his goal so no one even attempted to run with him to celebrate.

The ideal scenario would be for Villa to lose both their remaining games.
Spurs to take a point off City and batter Sheff Utd to take 4th on GD.
Then, for City to absolutely hammer West Ham to swing the GD to their favour and win the title.

He'll need more than new players and the one tactic he deploys week in, week out. There's no plan B or C, just the high line. Everyone's worked him out and unless he changes his stubborn one-tactic wonder, he's finished. It may have worked in the Scottish league but it won't wash in Premier League. I hope I'm wrong but I give him until Christmas and he'll be Levy fodder!

@@marcolearmont9880 Yeah, fair call. I just think he’ll bring in players that can work and be successful in his system. Ange is no mug, I’m sure he’ll make adjustments but all within the framework of his game plan. As a neutral fan ,it’s been an interesting watch on how fans waver from one week to the next. This forum definitely provides the most balanced views I think. I guess in 12 months tie we’ll be much the wiser.

Another great video from Mr Gold. So cool that i was watching your videos from the start. One of the first to sub. Always the most down to earth and reliabl Journalist for Spurs. For me this season as been one of Spurs best for a long time. To finish 5th or maybe eveb 4th after most people said Spurs would struggle to finish 8th. No Harry Kane. Brand new manger new players. The crazy month of playing LB and RB as defender's missing most of the midfield. Ange has his system and next season with additions Spurs will be even stronger. The wonder will be what if Spurs had beaten Chelsea and the players that got injured has stayed fit. Think Spurs would have been finishing 3rd right now.

I think GLC has been wasted by Ange. His posture may have been coloured by the player's track record at the club, but GLC has shown enthusiasm and professionalism under Ange and didn't deserve to be so neglected. What is more, i think he and Hojbjerg have the right mentality that Ange is looking for. And as you say, we are going to need a bigger squad for next season, as this group has been looking gassed with the bare minimum fixture list (although appallingly scheduled by the EPL, with big gaps followed by a crush of matches - that goes for the women's schedule too) and we will not only have European football next season but hopefully also some extended cup runs.

Pierre-Emile Højbjerg's toddler (looked to me to be about 4 or 5), as the team came back on the pitch, ran towards the South Stand and received a cheer, he then proceeded to run all over the pitch North, South, East, West I swear he covered every blade of grass and effectively lapped the pitch several times. Living in West Cornwall I see a lot of Plymouth Argyle. So, a big shout out to Ashley Philips who won Argyle Young Player of the Year Award. Ashley is an excellent defender, needs to be a bit more confident bringing the ball out of defence but mostly a wonderful prospect for Spurs. Alfie Devine has also done well but though picked by the ill fated Ian Foster (who lasted 3 months as Manager), he wasn't truly able to shine. Alfie did show promise though especially in the Run In and he helped keep the Pilgrims in the Championship.

Good to have your back, your videos have been missed Alasdair. A very dire spell of games ended by a (slim) win against Burnley thanks to goals from 2 defenders. Just confirms for me that the front line has just not fired in the second half of the season and needs major work in the summer. I did think Dane Scarlett was very bright when he came on and I hope he gets more chances. In fact, I would start him in the centre - if not against City then definitely against Sheffield United and play Son on the left side. BTW, Dane did score for the first team in the friendly against Shakhtar at the start of the season when some bloke called Kane scored 4 (wonder what happened to him?😁) Regarding the lap of honour, it was much better on a Saturday afternoon as a lot of the players brought their young kids which would have been much harder to do on a Tuesday night and there were a lot more young fans in the stadium than there would have been for an evening match. Plus, I had a ticket for the Burnley game and wanted to see the lap of honour. So, Spurs definitely made the right decision.

Hear me out, it'll be perfect if Brandon Austin makes his first Premier League debut against Man City. Let Ange know, so that Austin would finally get some minutes under his belt, and play a game that doesn't matter if he makes a mistake or not. C'MON LET'S MAKE THIS A TREND LADS

Alasdair Glow, nice to see you with a bit of colour Mr Gold other than that British off white complexion.
A good cup run next year and also fielding 4/5/6 players from the youth accademy in the Europe League if that becomes our fate would be a good approach, along with a top 5 or 4 should be achievable next season once Ange strengthens his squad.

Really happy to see you back in front of your blue wall 😉
Yes we need your vids when our results are awful, simply to raise our spirit just a bit 🙂
I'm glad you had a great vacation with your wife 🙂
Why not go one day with your wife to Salento (province of Lecce, Italy) ? I moved there from Belgium and it's lovely !
I could offer you a beer while talking about Spurs which I support since 1981 (even though I'm Belgian) 😉

Firstly Good to have u back mr gold and glad u enjoyed ur break, now to business lol. For those who continue to defend our wide men i will never get it they bring no excitement to this system, I don’t want them out but they’re not good enough to start for a team that apparently wants to win things. Besides mudryk and Antony Please tell me which top 10 team ours replace? City- grealish/foden(23), Arsenal- martinelli/saka(22), Liverpool-Diaz/salah, villa-diaby/bailey, Man U-garnacho(19)/antony, Newcastle-almiron/barnes, Chelsea-mudryk/madueke, West Ham-kudus(23)/bowen wolves-ait nouri/neto, SPURS-KULU/JOHNSON
Those who watch game through stats instead of their eyes will talk about GA but 1 touch finishes or crosses don’t tell the story of a players performance/impact for me. This system will never see its true potential until we get another quality winger and striker so son can jus be a winger

VDV started as a CF in his younger years. He finishing skills clearly show has played in that position.

All the more reason for Ange to play him as a temporary LB and let Dragusin step in at CB. Look at the Burnley game. Dragu comes on as CB, VDV moves to LB and score a goal. The fans have been calling for this since Udogie got injured but it took 3-4 games before Ange tried it.

As Spurs fans, I think the result, ManU Vs Arse was watched by us very intently. We know the result now and it's now time to to think whether we want to win on Tuesday against ManC in the hope that we can get CL or if it won't be enough. All the same, if we win, the Gooners will laugh at us for helping to secure them the Prem. They won't thank us, and say, "well done Spurs"!

I don't think it's in Ange's mentality to set out to lose. Thankfully, MC are on fire and chasing a goal difference deficit. I think we'll get a full power City that we probably won't cope with

I’m one of those Al that say Romero holds onto the ball too long. Knowing when to use that tactic and when not is the key. Many times there have movement up front and momentum is lost. I hate it Al with a passion. Our first goal conceded against Arsenal, was a diagonal back pass instead of lobbing it forward. It ended up being a corner for EPH own goal. Also the odd hospital pass given with that tactic.

Also, I don't think we can let Richie go as he is our only proper 9 and we need 2, so are we going to buy 2 strikers in 1 window? I don't think so, keep him and add.
