- Forget the movie, embrace the awesome of the 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt. Dripping with perfect Highland Green paint and stanced nicely with a set of blacked-out torque thrust-style wheels, the all-new Bullitt is a bad-ass ride.
Under the hood is a power-bumped 5.0-liter V8 engine and it's making 480 horsepower here. Row your own gears with the slick-shifting six-speed manual gearbox, and enjoy destroying those fancy Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. They work well and look good too thanks to some actual sidewall.

Great review, as a Bullitt owner I can say you truly got it! For some reason the Bullitt gets plenty of hate from people who have never even been in one or priced a Mustang GT with all the options that the Bullitt comes with? Anyway it sounds like you enjoyed it almost as much as I enjoy mine, first time I’ve seen a Bullitt with a child seat in the back though LOL.....
When Glucker buys a turtleneck for the film and in good form leaves the tag on it for returning it at a later date...😂🤣
Obviously...'someone' has never visited San Francisco, the location of the Bullitt movie chase, even in the summertime - it can be chilly.

sound deadening is a big issue on the mustang...if you look at the window glass - check the windshield... it comes with acoustical glass, so even the window glass is part of sound deadening NVH.
Note: since this is a "special edition" most folks will keep the sound tube, but many owners remove it

I think because the PP1 gives you a lot of the Bullit for less 🤷♂️. Also heard dealers are marking these up/won't budge on msrp. Not so much hate for the car but the pricing if that makes sense

Totally agree, heard the Tremec unit from the Shelby is one of the best ever.
I wish Ford would of adopted your thoughts on a manual trans with the New GT500. I have a feeling they are trying to force technology on people rather than pay attention to the purest. As for the Bullet, they could have done more to set it apart from the GT, they could of made the wheels with a more aggressive concave, or deep dish look, they could of made it more aggressive & FUNCTIONAL aerodynamics. Over all they did an OK 👌🏼 job on the car.

I wonder what its 0-60 time is, Ford never gave the numbers? I know its gears are too tall so that won't help much
From other videos I've watched, I believe it's been tested at about 4.4 seconds to 60mph.
@@gashauler1000 That's about right. The gearing. The GT is heftier in the lower gears. Why it is faster 0-60. But with the high gear ratio in the quarter mile the Bullitt takes the GT clearly. And top end speed is no match for the GT

took me a second when he said clear 100 mph in 3rd gear to realize I have the old gear ratio mt 82 and 3.73s lol I redline 3rd gear at like 85
The newer ones are the ones withthe folk problems, correct? Or both?
Blake Swan yeah 2018 and up they changed the gear ratios some and switched to aluminum shift forks and everyone is starting to break the 3-4 fork
Jacob Harvey I haven’t seen any 2019 MT 82 mustangs break the shift forks they were all 2018 models, my bullitt pulls so hard in the upper rpm levels it’s crazy I’ve gone 138 mph in fourth gear and was still 1500 RPM away from the redline LOL it does have 3.73 gears but I don’t know the actual ratios of the transmission??? Also if anyone’s interested I have a video out with a new bullitt selling for $47.5 K with a small mark up...

The aluminum shift forks that were problematic were in 2018 for a two-month production run - the manufacturer allowed air bubbles into the aluminum and they broke…..so, not “everyone.”

You reviewed the Bullitt Mustang and haven't seen the movie? Then without seeing the McQueen Mustang or the Charger. How could you pick either car (The Charger. Really)? You should have watched the movie before doing a test drive video of the new Bullitt Mustang. You're a little out of character as Steve McQueen. I'm also guessing you know very little about Steve McQueen and his professional driving skills. All things said. I appreciate your doing a test drive of the new Bullitt Mustang. It's a fantastic car and I'm waiting for one to arrive at my local dealership. I'm told like the GT350. They are being sent to large market Dealerships. My local dealership assured me they have one on order but it's been a month and still no Bullitt Mustang. Thanks for filling the void with your video.

Blah blah blah.......the truth! The Mustang GT is still faster then in a straight line race against both the Mustang 350R and the Bullitt because the Mustang has the 10 speed automatic transmission, And I should know I own a 2019 Mustang GT premium 😎🏁
That might matter if the gt350r or bullitt were built for straightline speed, but they are about the driving experience and track performance, and not letting the car do everything for you. So enjoy that auto, I'll be a half second slower and bang gears....wait no I won't be slower because my car has a vmp blower strapped to it. That's the truth...lol.

Sorta gimmickie way to go for Ford making a bullitt version again ..... I woulda just made a special H.O., version without the bullitt theme as an in between version from the stock GT to the GT 350 much like the what they’ve done with the track versions 1 and 2 but those are more with suspension , tires and rims upgrades. This way at least buyers could of had more color choices rather than just black and highland met green .
I really want one but that 6 speed is so inferior to the new 10 speed auto

Most people won’t get this but it’s true. The 10 speed is amazing. Manuals are cool too and have driven them for decades but the new 10 speeds cannot be ignored or your doing yourself a disservice.

But its true, the green paint in this generation is ugly. Ford added blue flakes to the paint this generation of Bullitt so it looks blueish.
Not to mention those rims look fugly next to the black performance pack wheels on a regular GT
It really looks kind of meh. Sounds great and options are nice. Prefer the loaded GT or a 350 for aesthetics and performance. This really isn’t worth the markup although glad some people have a new choice to consider.

Tony M If you think it’s overpriced then you haven’t built a premium mustang GT with all the options the bullitt has, The GT prices out at over 50 K and that’s without the extra parts from the Shelby GT 350 in the engine and the tuning. The bullitt is actually a good price I recently did a video on my channel with a bullitt that was $47.5 K
