Great video, thank you! I installed the new parts of my ice maker including the wiring harness which wasn't wasn't featured in your video. Needless to say it was simple. Just take some photos of the before the disconnect for reference. You'll be fine. Great video!
Perfect! Absolutely perfect! This is exactly what I need to see for the model refrigerator and replacement part I'm working on. Other videos don't capture all the details including the extra parts that are needed. So glad I found this video.
Thank you for the invaluable service provided with this video. It helped me to 1) find the right part using your link below and 2) fix the problem. Much gratitude!
Thanks for making this video and posting the Icemaker replacement number!. I was able to follow step by step and replace my icemaker. I now have ICE for my Drinks!!!!!
I had no idea what happened to my icemaker, and took it out completely to check, as per shown in this video. I found out that the clock was stuck and the arm 70 degrees position. I figured that ice got stuck and proceeded to let it melt. I also went ahead and opened the front panel to check that conductors were clean, with no visible short. After allowing the ice to melt, when ahead and installed it again. This time I jumped T and H. The clock rotated, arm went to completely up position, and water poured in. Seems to be working now. I am hearing ice dropping. Thanks for posting this. I ordered another icemaker just in case, but might go back.
How did you jump T&H? Looking at this as a short term solve for mine as well. Ice got stuck and melted instead of dropping. Took out assembly to let it all melt now. Going to try your solve.
All I want to do right now is remove the ice maker bin, but pressing the button and pulling on it won't remove it from the refrigerator. And I can't troubleshoot it further until I can get the bin out! Great video, bit if I have to do all that, I'll call for service.
When you used the screwdriver to get the interior panel off over the wire harness, were you pushing straight in or moving it a certain direction. Can’t seem to get this part out…
Where is the thermostat located? Do you happen to have the part number? Just replaced my unit and jumped T and H. Unit cycles when jumped but water just sits in place
Does this new maker come with the thermostat? Im trying to figure out if its the maker itself or if I need to just change the icemaker cycling thermostat.
@@friendnfamily9053 Ordered this part. Finally came in. Followed this video and had ice a few hours later. Very easy. Thank you for posting, if your fridge looks similar, this will likely work. Model numbers have changed but you can search that.
I was curious about your reply when I read it and was about to start this repair. My ice maker had the old-style harness with different connectors compared to the new one I ordered. And you were right, that part of the job was not included here. I was able to do it as I have some electrical experience (I was a Navy aircraft electrician), but it was not trivial, to say the least. For example, removing the ground wire attached with a literally inaccessible screw from the ice maker's attached frame was a big issue. I was able to splice the new harness's ground wire with a splice, but I have the tools and experience to do that - a lot of DIYers will not, making this very frustrating. Routing the new harness correctly and getting it in place before reinstalling was also not a simple task. That process could use its own video. You were correct.
This is a beginners job. There is nothing too difficult about replacing a wiring harness. Just take photos of the old harness before replacing it. That way you remember where to put the new one. As far as you splicing a wire.... you have to make sure to buy the right part lol. No splicing required to get the " inaccessible ground" because it is, in fact, accessible. You just have to un screw another piece to remove it. Don't let these comments detour you from completing this mildly easy job!

I think I put straight in.
@@friendnfamily9053 I just did it. You have to insert the screw driver tip in an upward angle on mine and then lever the tip down
Hey... Thanks for the guide. But... shouldn't those corndogs be in the freezer? - Love, Chris.
What if I did the same but my icemaker still doesn't work but the water dispenser is ok. Is it possible that I bought a defective icemaker?

Hi, I might be wrong, but I don't think it comes with the thermostat.
Did you do any troubleshooting prior to purchasing the new maker to make sure it wasn't any other issue like the thermostat
I missed the part where you plug the connector back into the black box. Figured it out that it had to be the same spot as the original.
Do you have a link to the ice maker part that you order? thanks for the video.

Did you have to reset or reprogram or something. Just plug and play?
Hi, Just plug and play.
What's the name of the part the ice maker mounts on to?
The ice auger
What tools did you use?
1/4" Magnetic hex nutdriver and magnetic flat screwdriver. You should not attempt this. You have no skills.
Do you have a link for the part? Thanks

I replaced mine last week using one from Amazon. Walmart has one for $23 less and they all look generic.
Why are you wearing rubber gloves?
There’s about 10 numbers on my icemaker, and none of them match any of the part numbers are showing
I replaced the ice maker still no ice
