Hi f&f, I'm trying to remove my tilt mechanism. I'm doing exactly the same as you, but the part that you removed with the screwdriver and popped up. Mine won't budge it will turn buy tapping with a mallet, but it won't come out. Mine is the 1986 volvo aq131a 275 out drive. It looks the same as your mechanism. Any advice would be very appreciated as I can't find any help online or the service manual. Again thank you for your videos they are very helpful. Nice, but how do you know how MUCH it will rise? Might it lift too much, and maybe it will be uneven in the OPPOSITE direction? Then there would be no going back.

Changed my oil, put in the 9.5 qt, dipstick was showing really high. Had to take out 4.5 to 5 qt to put it at top mark on dipstick.

It always helps to either saw the joint between the slabs or to ensure that the joint is clean. Any debris or friction between the slabs can reduce or even prevent movement. I've even seen slabs break just because the joint wasn't cleaned.

How do you prevent overshooting and it expanding to much? Anytime I’ve used gap filler foam for other applications the expansion seems unpredictable and varies.
