Thank you Simon. I'm not very handy, so I've been procrastinating on this repair for months. Your video made my day easier and saved me a lot of money!
I have a different, smaller side-by side Whirlpool; do all Whirlpool fridges use the same ice maker construct? (our ice maker only works after thawing it out but even then for only a few days, after which we can feel frozen ice droplets pointing down underneath...probably a leak causing an ice dam that prevents it from working).
No, not all Whirlpool fridges us the same icemaker. What is the model number of your fridge? Have you checked for any warm air getting inside the fridge? Do you know the actual temperature of inside the freezer?
Hello there after replacing the ice maker how long before the water fills up the ice tray. Does it wait for the ice maker compartment to get to 10 degrees? Thanks for the video
i have this icemaker in my whirlpool that is couple years old. The issue is the refrigerator is causing afci breaker to trip. When i unplug the wire harness to the icemaker, the breaker no longer trips. Could my issue be resolved by replacing the ice maker assembly?
Just replaced my unit. I was able to jump the T and H the unit cycles. Issue is that the water just sits frozen and unit never cycles only when jumped. Not sure what to check next.
Whirlpool GZ25FSRXYY1. Unit stopped making ice so I purchased an ice maker replacement unit WPW10300024. Once installed unit harvest and fill when T and H is jumped. Without jumper, unit sits. I was thinking the temp needed to be low so I waited about 1 week. So far no ice. Not sure what to troubleshoot next.
If water is still dripping into the unit from the fill tube after it fills the ice maker, it could cause that to freeze up. You can check to see if the fill tube is partially frozen as well. If you are getting water dripping in after it fills then you would need to replace your water valve.
Hey, thanks for your videos. I tried ordering from you because you helped identify the problem and part in another video, but my orders won't go through due to a supposed address mismatch even though there isn't one. I was willing to pay more through you because you helped me out, but customer service couldn't sort it out. Just wanted to let you know that you may want to see what's going on with your payment processor because your efforts are kind of going to waste. Regardless, thanks again for helping me out.
Outstanding video. Very clear, step by step. Replaced my icemaker myself, saved $500 vs. local repair guy.
Glad we were able to assist you. If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.

Pulling out the assembly from our fridge was very difficult but it eventually came out. It was also tough to put back in. Just have to be persistent.

Gracias muy buen video.

Normally we recommend letting it be for at least 24 hours, because it has to get back down to the proper temperature.

It sounds as if the ice maker could be what is causing your issue.

My funnel keeps freezing, resulting in a leak... What would be the cause?

When I try to pull the assembly out there's something holding it on top in the back
It was the water inlet tube sticking out from top of the fridge. Apparently you're supposed to pull it out before pulling the assembly out
Did that resolve the issue?
@@appliancepartspros yes. There is access from the top of the fridge. I wonder if it's on purpose to make thawing a frozen water line easier

The way our order system is set up it asks for the billing information before the shipping, so that could be the issue.
