Definitely one of Rammstein's most intimate songs, with a deeper meaning again! It's a song with a double meaning as well. First it's about artificial fertilization in general. But then there is this reference to Till's and Richard's complicated relationships with their own mothers. Rammstein never fail, even if comes to lyrics or songs or stage presence, do they!?

This song came out when there was a discussion here in Germany (Europe?) about the cloned sheep Dolly (concieved in haste an without semen). Dolly had no childout, was old at birth (tears of old children) and aged not well. This song if full of references to that.
Oh right. I forgot about the sheep. Personally, I always have to think about the clones in star wars and how they were made in these tube things

Great reaction as always. Fun fact to this song ist that (rumor), that this song is very famous in Russia to play/sing it on Mother’s Day. They probably had no subs so they should have learned that it’s a very sad song full of critics and references. 🤷🏻♂️

There's never anything superficial about Rammstein songs, they're all multi-layered. Mutter always sends tingles down my spine, from the guitars that are almost crying, the sound of the child at the start in this performance, the howl of MUTTER from Till to the sad pleas of "Mother, give me strength". There's so much anger and desperation in this song and a lot of it is suggested to have come from Till and Richard's poor relationships with their respective mothers when they were young. The relationships seem to have improved as the guys have become older, but they certainly haven't forgotten their experiences of feeling that they weren't important to their mothers. I think this is the point of view in the writing-for all that they mattered, they might as well have been born from experiments. Great reaction as always from you fella. Keep going, there's a hell of a back catalogue for Rammstein to react to!
But Till has good relationship with his mother. He is mama child. But you are not german, you can't it no. We can read it and there are also photos with his mother on Facebook.

Und Till hat darüber gesprochen, es gibt mehrere Artikel und Berichte, dass er zwar jetzt eine gute Beziehung hat, die nicht so gut war als er Jung war. Sie schreibt auch dass die Beziehungen sich verbessert haben im Laufe der Jahre.

Never heard about that one. Where you got this information? I am curious. What I know is, that they once have called it Tempelprayers. I am into the band since 25 years, but I still do not know all. This would be the first time I hear that.

I haven't followed the group for a long time. this is either from a book that was written about them or from a movie that came out with the release of the Madison Garden concert. They wanted to use the basic archetypes mother or earth(ground)

Rammstein ist HARDCORE und auch WIRKLICH selbst für Deutsche sehr schwer manchmal zu VERSTEHEN, weil DA ist soviel Realer HORROR und Gewalt und Trauer und Schmerz , in Lyrik und Hartem Riffs und Drums.
