Looks like lovely fine dining. Although the best roast dinners in Britain come from working class houses. I've dined in fancy restaurants, but the best traditional roast dinners I've had are when I've been back to visit my friends who I went to school with who lived on council estates.
This looked like a fantastic thing to do! I've been to Tetbury and thought that was a lovely little town, but visiting Highgrove would be extra special.

Lovely Estate and beautifully decorating got the Season. The Gift Shop was enticing and the Restaurant was too. Seeing the King’s paintings proved what a very good artist he is. The only thing I would change though is I would order two deserts😂. The Christmas Pudding of course and the Pinapple desert because I’ve never had it and it sounded fantastic!
That looked so lovely & relaxing. I hadn’t realised that Highgrove Estate had passed to William & Catherine, King Charles has put his heart into the Estate & it must be quite a wrench having too pass it over to them. Thank-you for sharing your experience xxx
Enchanting & truly festive! HighGrove is very beautiful! The Restaurant is so charming & has such a cozy ambience as well. This definitely looked like a superb dining experience! The dinner looked absolutely delicious & one could clearly tell that everything was made with such high quality ingredients.Outstanding! The China, as well as the silverware was also just beautiful! The Gift Shop was also amazing & had such unique & beautiful high quality Gifts! So much to choose from! I loved the Prince of Wales feathered Crest Christmas decoration that you chose. It is lovely & will be such a treasured memento of this experience for years to come! Thank you for sharing another delightful experience!

Thanks for taking me along for lunch at King Charles III (our former Prince of Wales) estate at Highgrove. I had seen garden tours in the summer but never the restaurant and gift shop. It appears that you had a great time in an elegant surroundings. King Charles III appears to be an astute businessman providing employment for many. Over the 40 years he has managed the Duchy of Cornwall and increased its value of land, businesses and investments to over £1 billion ( Pounds). Prince William, now the Prince of Wales, has some big and impressive shoes to fill. I hope that William can continue to grow the Duchy and pass on a solid inheritance to Prince George when the time comes. How far is Highgrove from London?

I went to chatsworth in mid December one year . It was magical and had beautiful gift shop and delicious meal. I wish I had more time to explore more of the gardens and fountains. So many beautiful places to visit .

How lovely that the china used to serve your meal has been changed out to reflect the season. I was there in May to see the gardens and had lunch, the china was floral and in keeping with the surroundings. Your horseradish sauce was served on a plate from the china pattern used in May. Your meal looked delicious. I wished I had gone into the bathroom!!! Such photos I could have taken. Guess I'll have to go back!! Prince William has indeed inherited Highgrove House, but the King will be paying rent to William for the foreseeable future as his (and the Queen's) heart is most definitely there in the house and the gardens. It is their refuge , though the Queen has her own refuge in Wiltshire too.

"Wouldn't it be loverly" to be there with you says this Boston born i.e. 'Bostonian"/Anglophile Brit-American whose forebears came here to the states from the UK on my maternal side in 1721 and fought in the Revolutionary War! Cheers from Yankee New England where we still have some similar British customs like teas at our historic inns, hotels and at home, a restaurant chain called 'The British Beer Company", Highland games and bagpipes and many towns and cities named after the ones in the UK, like "Boston"! And I see that you had a delightful time visiting at the Highgrove area, and restaurant/gift shop. I like how you filmed the driving ride into Highgrove in the beginning of this video. Your meal that you ordered looks tasty, and healthy! And your shopping experience at the gift shop part of the restaurant was fun, wasn't it? Lol. Personally, I would have chose some of the jars of fruit spreads, and one of the Highgrove sourvenier Christmas tree ornaments, to purchase. And I would have lingered over the paintings that Charles did, that were hanging in frames around the store, and I would have taken pictures of the paintings that I favored the most. (And then I would have bragged later, showing off the collection of pictures of paintings that King Charles had painted!). 🤓 I have liked Charles since way back, and that part of Charles has always intrigued me. And please don't yearn for that expensive Teddy bear. (Let Charles and Camilla give you one!!) You are such a sweet lady, and I don't see why they would mind, if they knew how much you wanted it. And I'm sure that Charles and Camilla are generous people, especially to their friends and fans. Charles loves this home and its gardens, that he planned along with experts, that I am sure it will remain his private home when he can get to Gloucestershire, even though William technically owns it now as part of the inheritances that go along with the Duchy of Cornwall and its holdings. He often takes food products from these gardens with him as host gifts or as food he eats when he travels because it is all sustainably grown, so he knows it is healthy and he can encourage others to follow suit. Placement of the items for sale at the entrance and exit points is important for an estate trying to remain self-sustaining. They continue to use the gardens for research, so it is a crucial use of land. My goodness, is it drafty being seated by those doors? Yes, all paths lead through the shops. LOL. I see they offer a vegetarian option. I'd expect no less. I am surprised to note there are so few people there having a holiday lunch with a friend they do not get to see often or spend the actual holiday with. I am a bit surprised that the servers dress so casually. I would not expect fancy costumes, but something a bit less like one would wear shopping with the kids at Target. Perhaps they are attired more like many of the folks who visit the gardens, though I don't know that they'd have the money to pay those prices for lunch, even if they budgeted it as a noontime dinner. Do they provide doggy bags, if you cannot finish it all? I don't care how chi-chi an establishment is, there should be no food waste. I loved that the china exhibited living things in its design, it appeared. And a good teacup shape that is less low & wide, a bit more mug-like, so as to retain the heat of the tea or coffee within better during the quaffing thereof. Great flooring, discreet decorations, good music, and who's the chappy on the wall in the kilt? Glad Charles offers some of his own paintings there. It's good that the design of the shop allows the outer door to open & close while blocking the chill/wind with a small vestibule.

Lovely Estate and beautifully decorating got the Season. The Gift Shop was enticing and the Restaurant was too. Seeing the King’s paintings proved what a very good artist he is. The only thing I would change though is I would order two deserts😂. The Christmas Pudding of course and the Pinapple desert because I’ve never had it and it sounded fantastic!

Enchanting & truly festive! HighGrove is very beautiful! The Restaurant is so charming & has such a cozy ambience as well. This definitely looked like a superb dining experience! The dinner looked absolutely delicious & one could clearly tell that everything was made with such high quality ingredients.Outstanding! The China, as well as the silverware was also just beautiful! The Gift Shop was also amazing & had such unique & beautiful high quality Gifts! So much to choose from! I loved the Prince of Wales feathered Crest Christmas decoration that you chose. It is lovely & will be such a treasured memento of this experience for years to come! Thank you for sharing another delightful experience!

Thanks for taking me along for lunch at King Charles III (our former Prince of Wales) estate at Highgrove. I had seen garden tours in the summer but never the restaurant and gift shop. It appears that you had a great time in an elegant surroundings. King Charles III appears to be an astute businessman providing employment for many. Over the 40 years he has managed the Duchy of Cornwall and increased its value of land, businesses and investments to over £1 billion ( Pounds). Prince William, now the Prince of Wales, has some big and impressive shoes to fill. I hope that William can continue to grow the Duchy and pass on a solid inheritance to Prince George when the time comes. How far is Highgrove from London?

I've got some lovely videos planned for this year but some of the amazing places I'm hoping to visit are only open in the spring. I went to chatsworth in mid December one year . It was magical and had beautiful gift shop and delicious meal. I wish I had more time to explore more of the gardens and fountains.

How lovely that the china used to serve your meal has been changed out to reflect the season. I was there in May to see the gardens and had lunch, the china was floral and in keeping with the surroundings. Your horseradish sauce was served on a plate from the china pattern used in May. Your meal looked delicious. I wished I had gone into the bathroom!!! Such photos I could have taken. Guess I'll have to go back!! Prince William has indeed inherited Highgrove House, but the King will be paying rent to William for the foreseeable future as his (and the Queen's) heart is most definitely there in the house and the gardens. It is their refuge , though the Queen has her own refuge in Wiltshire too.

Personally, I would have chose some of the jars of fruit spreads, and one of the Highgrove sourvenier Christmas tree ornaments, to purchase.
And I would have lingered over the paintings that Charles did, that were hanging in frames around the store, and I would have taken pictures of the paintings that I favored the most. (And then I would have bragged later, showing off the collection of pictures of paintings that King Charles had painted!). 🤓
I have liked Charles since way back, and that part of Charles has always intrigued me.
And please don't yearn for that expensive Teddy bear.

Charles loves this home and its gardens, that he planned along with experts, that I am sure it will remain his private home when he can get to Gloucestershire, even though William technically owns it now as part of the inheritances that go along with the Duchy of Cornwall and its holdings. He often takes food products from these gardens with him as host gifts or as food he eats when he travels because it is all sustainably grown, so he knows it is healthy and he can encourage others to follow suit. Placement of the items for sale at the entrance and exit points is important for an estate trying to remain self-sustaining. They continue to use the gardens for research, so it is a crucial use of land. My goodness, is it drafty being seated by those doors? Yes, all paths lead through the shops. LOL. I see they offer a vegetarian option. I'd expect no less. I am surprised to note there are so few people there having a holiday lunch with a friend they do not get to see often or spend the actual holiday with. I am a bit surprised that the servers dress so casually. I would not expect fancy costumes, but something a bit less like one would wear shopping with the kids at Target. Perhaps they are attired more like many of the folks who visit the gardens, though I don't know that they'd have the money to pay those prices for lunch, even if they budgeted it as a noontime dinner. Do they provide doggy bags, if you cannot finish it all? I don't care how chi-chi an establishment is, there should be no food waste. I loved that the china exhibited living things in its design, it appeared. And a good teacup shape that is less low & wide, a bit more mug-like, so as to retain the heat of the tea or coffee within better during the quaffing thereof. Great flooring, discreet decorations, good music, and who's the chappy on the wall in the kilt? Glad Charles offers some of his own paintings there. It's good that the design of the shop allows the outer door to open & close while blocking the chill/wind with a small vestibule.

I wonder whether the place being a little on the quiet side was because it was the first day that they had opened for Xmas lunch and we were lucky to go on this very first day😊😊😊 .
