That was a good one Lamont, I remember the Lizzie Borden story from way back: here's the Rhyme Lizzie borden took an axe, and gave her Mother forty whacks, When she saw what she had done she gave her father Forty-one. Oh and Lizzie Borden died in 1927

Wish I could have been with you, Lamont. I've always been so fascinated with this story, and done a lot of reading on it. After Lizzie's acquittal, she and her sister made the move to a mansion on the hill, aka the elite part of Fall River. Lizzie named it Maplecroft and lived there till she died. So Lizzie, who changed her notorious name to Lizbeth, finally got what she wanted. It was a hatchet used, a smaller instrument than an axe. Great work as usual, Lamont!

A bunch of family is buried there and my mother always told me the story about Lizzie. I never heard she was on drugs. I believe she killed them because her dad was a cheapskate and she wanted the money. My mother said that her great grandfather was a constable at the time and botched the investigation. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I sent this to a cousin who’s been a lifelong resident. I have read that she killed them because she was being molested by her father. It's such a fascinating story I've read so many things about this crime it's hard to say who did it. I never heard anything about her taking drugs. That makes the case even more intriguing than before for me.

Personally, I think she did it because she kept changing her story and the circumstances just kept pointing in her direction. For someone else to do it, it's just too unlikely. They would not have had the opportunity. She hated her parents. I also think she was very spoiled and entitled. She lived well but was angry over not living on the hill.
I guess we will never know why she did it because she never admitted to killing them. It could just be that someone assumed that she was molested. She lived at a time when people didn't bring up those things easily.

It's more likely that she grew to resent her father over the years because he was tight with his money, and wanted a better lifestyle. She also disliked her stepmother.

The Late Elizabeth Montgomery played the part of Lizzie Borden in a film made in the seventies. There was a possible explanation as to why they never found blood on Lizzies clothing. It’s a very good film starring a wonderful actress. R.I.P MS Montgomery
