Everyone (officer and enlisted) make a "dream sheet" of what bases they want. You'll have a list of bases you can go to based on the job you have. For example, maintenance is needed everywhere so they may have more base options than cyber. Your bases can depend on your job so no, not all bases are available but there are a lot! It will also depend on what the Air Force needs at the moment. And Space Force only has like 5/6 bases so that also narrows it downs. For active duty, you'll typically be at your base for 3-4 years before going to your next. However, your first station will more than likely just be 2 years. Deployments are never really "regular". You go when you they say it's time lol. We do have somewhat of a system but it all really just depends on a lot of factors.
If you’re an officer with prior service, it would be a PCS! Your tech school requirement is based on your current rank. Simply because your rank will determine what kind of training you receive and what’s required. I hope that helps. If not, let me know!! I will explain in a different way.

Can enlisted Air Force people in tech school there at DINFOS go out and visit family members?
Yes! However, idk how often or the restrictions
Do you get to pick your base as an officer? I assume every base is available? Also, how long are you typically at a base for? Are deployments regular?

Thank you for the info. For a PAO you find out your base before training right? @@faithapowers
@@jimmym6168 yes, you find our your job and then your base. Then you go to your school.
Would prior service enlisted be considered PCS or TDY?
