    I want this job but I want to work as a Neurodiagnostic technologist, so under the Aerospace medical service 4N0X1 there is this thing called shreadouts with multiple jobs like Neurodiagnostic medical tech, Independence Duty Medical Tech, Allergy/Immunization tech, Flight and Operational medical tech, Aeromedical Evacuation tech, etc. Does that mean I can pick one of those jobs as my main focus under the aerospace medical service?

      Although we all trained at the same facility, The Army rules will be different from Air Force. We had to phase up before we could leave and that takes about a month, or less depending on how quickly you get your checklist done. For instance, we needed to pass a full service uniform inspection, 2 room inspections, attend 5 airmen core classes (they has these all week so it was easy to attend), as well as a few other task. The faster you get your checklist done, the faster you can leave base.

      Hey. Congratulations!✨ I truly enjoy medical. They have so many opportunities to grow and develop skills and it transfers well on the outside. As far as any tips for Tech School, we do have one of the harder technical trainings because of all the medical knowledge we have to learn in such short time. So my advice would be to just actually take notes in class, and study. Give yourself a rest day but after lecture, go somewhere without distractions and study that material and try to comprehend it. I watched youtube videos of medics and nurses breaking it down in a more simple version. You will be fine though. I love medical now. My degree is in Sociology and now I’m thinking about Nursing School or PA School. ✨.

    So I’ve been looking into the USAF recently but just a tad confused. So as far as being reserve are they only certain jobs you can select? And does everyone go to tech school? Someone who is reserve will be home most of the time and only required to work their 2 days or weekend of the month.

    • @kebreannalasha
      @kebreannalasha  2 года назад +1

      Hey. I know for sure, everyone Active, Guard or Reserves go to Tech School. You have to learn your job. As far as you picking your job, me being Active, I submitted 10 jobs I want and I HAVE to take Whatever available to me, rather it was what I listed or not. For Guard and Reserves, I don’t know if you have the option to choose or not. Your recruiter will tell you what jobs are available at your home unit(more likely that would be the closest reserve base near you)

    I know this video is semi old, but I'm curious how you were able to spend time with your son while in tech school. Did the AF move them out to you?

    • @kebreannalasha
      @kebreannalasha  Год назад

      Hey. No, they didn’t. I think they do do this though if your Tech School is a year+ long.
      Fortunately, My Tech school was in Texas and my son’s Dad lives in Dallas which was about 2-3 hours away from me. So whenever he could, we worked things out so I can see him. The first time, his dad and family came down and they all stayed in an Air BNB. We have curfews at Fort Sam. They allow weekend passes(where you can stay off base for the weekend) but I submitted my paperwork late. So I woke up that weekend as soon as curfew was over to go be with him and I dropped him off just in time for me to make it back to the dorms for curfew. The second time, my mom and family came to visit me. They scooped him up from Dallas on the way there, BUT I was able to get a weekend pass that time and I stayed off base with them.

    Hey! What did you do about your piercings in BMT??

    • @kebreannalasha
      @kebreannalasha  2 года назад +2

      Hey. Honestly I’m so hurt. I got my nose piercings in September of 2021, and shipped out April of 2022. I thought they were fully healed by then so I took them out for basic. They closed up while I was in there. Some girls had plastic studs in though. We’re not supposed to have them but they pulled it off somehow. I think they took em out during the day and slept with them at night.

    • @kebreannalasha
      @kebreannalasha  2 года назад +6

      Yes ma’am. I’m so sorry. I totally missed all of that information. My goal was to try to be as informative as I can. So phase 1 is like 4 months long. Week 1 is BLS & A&P, Weeks 2-7 is EMT, and Weeks 8-11 is Nursing. After Nursing, we have a graduation ceremony in the classroom, and then we fly out to our phase 2 anytime after that. Everyone should be gone from phase 1 within a week after graduating. I graduated on the 13 of Sep and I’m leaving tomorrow, 23 Sep. Once you get to phase 2, we’ll be there for 6 weeks working rotations in the ER. Surgeries, pregnancies, etc. I hope you get it. It’s truly rewarding.

    • @kebreannalasha
      @kebreannalasha  2 года назад

      The only time we were allowed to leave base during BMT was after graduation and we had to wear our blues uniform the whole time. As fat as Tech School, I had a pre-packed suitcase already and had my people ship it to me once there. I don’t advice bringing electronics other than a phone to basic because everything is going to get shoved and tossed around in a closet.

      Once at Tech School, you’re allowed to leave base and can order or go buy whatever you want. However, there’s a checklist of things we have to accomplish before we earn our privileges to start going off base. Like room and uniform inspections, etc.

      @@dorotheemayag778 Ok. You won’t be able to use your own device at basic other than your cellphone for designated phone time. I highly recommend not bringing it because it’s gonna be broke by the end. If you do bring it, and it gets broke, they’re not paying for it because its on the do and do not bring list. Is it easy to get into the Air Force I’m trying to become a cook in the Air Force

    • @kebreannalasha
      @kebreannalasha  Год назад

      I wouldn’t say it’s easy nor hard. The first step with all branches is talking to a recruiter and expressing your goals and interest. Fortunately to become a cook, that’s one of the jobs that don’t require a high ASVAB score. I “think” you just need a 24 total. Place that as your number 1 choice on job sheet when you have to list the 10. However, always be open to other jobs. Services have several different sections (kitchen cook, kitchen server, gym, hotel assistant) so make sure you do some research because if you get Services, it’s no guarantee that you’ll be a cook. What do you like to do?
