I came to learn how to data log with TunerPro and this guy has a Beretta with a LS in it? I didn't think that was possible. I still have my 90 Beretta but with a 3.1 engine in it.
Have you had an issue with da not connected message ? I have the same obd dongle and can't get it to data log at all. Can you go indepth on how you set up your logging
I did a couple weeks ago, and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. Then the next week it worked fine. I'll have to do more digging in what actually changed.
This a great tutorial. I’ll probably contact you soon if I can for a few ?’s. Not doing an LS swap but I am looking at a couple different engine swaps that both of them , one Dodge, one Toyota, I will be ditching the garbage PCMs that will cost a small fortune to just purchase the equipment to tune them . The one will be a 5.9 Magnum into a Duster . Going efi so if my wife drives it she will not have issues with a carburetor . Between the tuning software and an small computer from SCT to upload the file it’s about $800.00 . I don’t have that much into the entire car . So yeah, I’ll probably use the ‘01-‘02 0411 I can get several for $35.00 each . Wire it up . Vroom. I know I need to run a 24x for the crank. Will that Tuner Pro program allow you to change that do you know ?

Working on swapping my 355 tbi I built and tuned years ago for a 6.0 and have been researching and ordering everything I need for doing the programming and got an 0411 ecm from the junkyard along with stuff to make a bench programming harness plus an extra 0411 in case I brick the first one haha. I was hoping to be able to log with Tunerpro since I'm so familiar with it already from doing the obd1 tuning on the tbi and am going to use it for modifying the .bin file anyways and really glad to have found this vid. As far as the wideband not logging for your truck due to no rear o2 I wonder if it has a "flags" section in the .bin file like the obd1 stuff I'm used to and if you could enable the downstream o2 that way? Just a thought
I'm glad! I started off with obd1 too...with my 3400 Beretta and TBI truck. I haven't seen any way to enable the downstream o2s yet...I looked back when I was trying before. Some of the 8.1 stuff is a little odd.

Really heck as good as your tune/VE table looks I'd bet it probably hits whatever you put in for desired PE AFR anyways so probably wasn't a huge deal. I know that's how my tbi was after I got everything else dialed in I was always within a couple tenths of the commanded PE AFR I set.

@@GEARHEADdezign thanks emailed you. I lost you a little at 13:00 when you started talking about the WBO2 and repining the PCM. Is a wideband and a pcm repin needed to accomplish the data logging or can it be done with the factory O2 sensors?
@@ralphyc81 You can do it with the factory sensors. The wbo2 is just more accurate at richer A/F during power enrichment. Factory o2 is basically a rich/lean switch that the PCM uses to modify fueling and keep it crossing over that threshold. Google LTFT tuning.
Thanks for the great video. You definitely have this process down. Im having a lot of trouble getting an adx file. I can’t find anything anywhere about how to get one that works for my P01 with 12212156 OS. I guess you really need to get the adx and Xdf that match then get the BIN. But I still can’t figure out those “relationships”. So frustrating!!!
Hey Dude. I think if can use your adx I have the rest. I just ordered an arm 304110 as well. My OS is 12212156 and matching xdf. That all works great. For some reason I thought adx files specific to either the pcm or bin. Mine is 0411. So I guess it’s a lot easier than I thought. Thank you for being smart and kind enough to help me out. @@Dannymclovin it wasn't reading correctly. I found out that my 3/4 ton truck tune doesn't have post-cat o2 sensors. So when I get my Beretta LS swap running, I can confirm the wideband work

I just read the 0334 instructions and it says EFIlive can read the output, so you can probably make this work too. Tha's CANbus 08+ stuff though, so it's not something I'm familiar with
@@jsomething2 yup. People with the OBDX have had trouble logging with my ADX, but the flashing works great. I'm gonna buy an OBDX too just to try logging etc since my old OBDLINK LX could die any day🤣 and the new ones won't work for flashing

I ran the file and did a first pass at the data log in both of my cars #1 All the LTFT cells fill in exactly at 100.(this may be because i run LTFT off since i tuned it for open loop only) #2 for spark advance only one row fills in and its the 1.2 , not sure if yours populates at other row values?
@@GEARHEADdezign awesome thanks. What I'm doing is a lean burn during regular crusing speeds for increased mpg. I had to turn off the lTFT and keep it in open loop. Right now I'm running 18:1 stoich on a lS1 Vette. So I found a guy a your tube that built the formula for the spark table. Something like this for the table formula = [MAF Sensor]/((RPM/60)/4). I don't want to add the link to the video unless your ok with it

Also: does tunerpro use ADX file to understand the data coming from your car? Let's say I'm tuning a Mercedes CLS, I need to get ADX file for that year/model and for BMW M3, I need to get another ADX file, correct?
Pre-obd2, it needed to be car specific. Obd2 is supposed to be universal, but there are a few different protocols. In theory it could work with a Bimmer or Mercedes. That actually makes me want to check it with my wife's Subaru now. Haha
hey, maybe its me, not sure, but I cant figure out how to connect my laptop and OBDLink LX with TunerPro RT. In the Tools>Preferences windows i setup the Interface Type/Plug-in Component as you did. When I hit the Connect/Disconnect button, it kinda freezes for a second then shuts down TP. Anther Question. will that ADX just work for 99-02 PCM's or possibly most the setups. Will i need to do the Wideband O2 mod to use it without having to edit the def file? Thank you
The freezing is strange. Mine has never done that. It will give a hardware not found, but it should connect when you click Acquisition > Start/Stop Data Scan
@@GEARHEADdezign now I just have to teach myself how to create an XDF. Not many out there for a 4.3. Haven't seen any for mine. The one BIN/XDF I found, I can't start the truck with it. Yes, VATS were taken care of.
@@GEARHEADdezign sounds to me it's looking for an upgrade or 2 :) My 86 K5 Blazer is getting a TPI 350 with the 411 conversion. After I get that nailed down, I plan to adapt an LT1 intake to a 350 and again a 411 conversion. As you see, I have nothing better to do with my time :) This may take years... funds permitting

Still needs to be 24x for a 411, regardless of how you tune it. You could always do an external crank trigger if needed.

It should be pretty universal. That was the whole point of obd2 to standardize

OBDlink LX, but the new ones with different firmware don't work for ls Droid tuning.. You'll need OBDX pro. Any of them will work for logging though

In theory it should work for all OBD2 that use the same protocol. I know it works for all 99-06 Chevy trucks.
