I funny the hand size is a topic today on here lol. Got 2xl hands and have recently really started digging blades between 3-3.25” for edc. When I was in construction, 3.5-4” knives were my go-to. But being a machinist now, the smaller, lighter carry is very welcome. It also opens the doors a bit wider in the midtech and cnc semi custom market I’ve found.
Mine came in with so many problems when I got it, most regretted knife purchase ever, and so glad I got rid of it lol. Worst quality control on any knife I’ve owned, and the most expensive.
That super sucks. I've heard other people had similar issues. I still want one really bad, just don't want to spend that much on a knife.
i don't know of a knife company that hasn't had a dud but even then they are worth a second look. I owned 4 of these evo 4.0s and they were flawless!
I bought two Evo 4.0s as my first ever CKFs, & I'm in love with both of them! So much so, that I went & bought an Evo 2.0 as well!
Now, I'm 6'4 & weigh 250 lbs (until recently it was closer to 300), & I do have genuinely big hands. Not fat fingered, pretty slim overall, but still big. And the Evo 4.0 fits my hand soooo perfectly! The Evo 4.0 has knocked a lot of other knives I really love right out of my pocket these past few weeks...even my pretty varied Reate-OEM knives, which is wild.
I've already got two Zircuti clips & a timascus clip for them, too. Took some of spare natural Ti hardware & swapped to the DLC Evo, & added a monochrome Zircuti clip, which gives it this incredible tuxedo look.
Now I find myself wanting to round out the rest of the S90V versions by grabbing the hand-rubbed version, which is also gorgeous. But yes, I actually love the matte DLC on this new version better than the shiny DLC. But really, they're all beautiful in their own ways!
Now I gotta get ahold of some other CKF models... been looking at the Brat recently, really awesome scale design.

I got this, was way too small for my giant hands. Traded for a larger one. Not completely in love with it. Great knife, love the wicked hollow grind, but not worth the cash imo.

You should check out Evo-T as well. Matt DLC was done on purpose as a contrast to EVO-3 shiny DLC.
I just got the zircu-ti pocket clip for mine 2 weeks ago and it looks sick AF paired with the DLC coating. I just wish the pocket clip was polished opposed to the matte finish mine has. It still lokks sick, though. Had 2 problems with my Evo 4.0 when I received it a couple months back. 1st, the edge sucked and wasn't fully sharpened. 2nd, the pivot and pocket clip screws kept loosening up on it. Hit the edge with my KME and now it has a nice mirror polished edge that cuts through paper towels like butter. I also put a drop of orange loctite on the pivot and it hasn't came lose since. The only thing I don't like about mine is the fact I somehow got number 187. If you know police codes then you'll know why I'm not fond of the # 187. I did find it a bit odd that CKF included 3 additional pivot screws for the Evo 4.0, though. It's been my EDC since I received it. Lol. I do think CKF needs to step up there quality control, though, especially for their prices. I'm really wanting to check out the new Echo Trol only because it's a $165 CKF knife that comes with G-10 and CPM-S35VN. In a way, the Echo Trol kind of reminds me of a budget tier Shiro mainly because of its overall profile.
I love the Evo's they're awesome. But I totally prefer the earlier versions. The original blade shape is much better than the tanto version they've done on this run. Still awesome knives though just personal preference.

Badass knife. I have the Zircu-ti/Carbon fiber with the 2 tone blade and love it. Had to loctite the pivot to prevent it from loosening up constantly but it's been fine since. Check out Gluten free EDC or Lefty EDC if you want a review on the Davless. Both give pretty good reviews on it.
My 4.0 came in perfect qc with a great detent Just like my 3 3.0s
Mine did too. As they say the small amount of whiners will always be heard loudly. Love my 4.0. Perfection.

Heya MC do you know anybody that mirror polishes/ mirror sharpens blades?
Worth looking into doing on your own it’s a whole different rabbit hole and I love to sharpen and finish blades.

RE; glove size - I don't even think my hands are crazy big (plenty of my friends have bigger) and I'm on the upper end of 2XL gloves. XL is basically the standard size for most men these days.
3 and 1/8th inches is frustrating to me, as I live in a 3" knife state now.
Man, I need one of those. (even though my hands are fucking HUUUUUGE)

I see a lot of waviness along the cutting edge. What is that?
waviness? I see some variation in the dlc coating but the edge looks good. I think this may have been previously used before it was sent in or its oil.
The waviness I am seeing is in the coating and it looks like stress patterns when viewed through polarized glass.

Sold mine in 24 hrs After cutting myself on it closed. The blade hit my finger in the first 5 minutes. Did anyone else have the same problem? First blade that got me when closed.

I've wanted one for a long time but the more i thought about it i realized it's just another Chinese made titanium frame lock that's just over priced, I still love the design and would like to have one but not at that price

Must be nice to buy gloves at Home Depot ,to be able to get gloves that can go over more than your finger tips . I can't , if I want gloves they would need to be custom made..so your lucky to have little bitc...
