Winedors are the way forward for sure. They have the advantage of temperature control which humidors don not unless a system is installed. The fans also help air circulation. I have a winedor with a cigar oasis and an external temperature controller, works really well, cheers.
Looks cool. I need to figure something out. I have 600+ cigars totally stuffed in a giant cooler with Spanish cedar lining the thing. Only the cigard in the bottom don't get much humidity. Keeping that temp lower in the summer would be awesome, looks nice too.
Lower temp for aging but room temp for smoking... I smoke at lower rh so between 60-65%. With lower temps it needs to sit at room temp for a few hours. That's why I age at 65°F at 62-65rh. But I also have a wineador that's unplugged.
Just some info...mixing Bovedas just ruins the lower percentage packs and is a waste. Also you shouldn't have that on a carpet, it's like a refrigerator, put it on tiled wood or something for no future problems.
I’m my experience those plastic filters clog very quickly and when they do the unit gets warm and condensation can form. I had this happen with a smaller unit that is designed for wine not cigars. Be careful, check the filter weekly especially if you have carpet
That's funny. Yesterday on craigslist, I was looking at that same humidor you used the selves for this guy. Almost bought it but I stumbled across a Whynter also on craigslist. The ad was for a new CHC-172BD for $100!! I dove to L.A. and grabbed one. Sure enough, it was is a 400+ cigar, 3 drawers, 2 shelf model Humidor. The same one is listed on Amazon for $499. If anyone wants one, Check out the LA craigslist. They had a bunch including the smaller ones. I should have bought 5 and sold them. LOL
it does have a little water sometimes in the back of the unit. But it is nothing bad. I wonder if it sucking the humidity out...even though it is thermoelectric.
I just checked the bottom of the wineador and it was wet. So I put a glass pie dish on the bottom of the unit to hold the condensate. It was about a quarter cup of water in a day. I was shocked. I never had that issue before I moved so maybe it just works harder in the summer.
It's cool. I get the benefits and all. Obviously in the desert you have different humidity issues to consider so I'm sure it deals really nicely. Personally I'm a purist and love the ornate wood humidors. I'd rock something authentic no matter how much babysitting it took, but that's just me. Thanks for the video!
yes ii set my cooler to 66 and my data shows it is between 69 and 72 degrees in a very predictable pattern as the day gets hotter. The humidity does the inverse as the temperature so it is between 64 and 68%
I live in Phoenix too and a wineador is the only way to go. Check out The Spanish Cedar Guys on Facebook for an alternative to wineador dot com. They are there same price or cheaper but their turnaround time is MUCH better. They have great reviews in some cigar groups.
Yeah I've talked with those guys before and definitely prefer them over wineador.com. Also, one of the guys that I worked with at SaveTheLeaf is involved in The Spanish Cedar guys. SaveTheLeaf did a lot of work in trying to stop the FDA from destroying our hobby so I like supporting people who were involved with that. Make sure you post an update vid. At some point I'm going to get shelves from them as well and I'd like to hear about your experience.

What temp do you keep the fridge at? Apparently cigars need to be at room temp with a 65-70% humidity level.
I keep it around 65-70
How do you control ambient temp? Also running a fridge can dry out the cigars especially a compressor wine cooler.@@AM2PMReviews

oh good point! I will check it now.
Awesome score, pal. I've gotta ask. Whats the plans for the older humidor?

I'm diggin' it, pal.

nice that is a great deal!
They have a larger one as well for $160. Seriously if anyone needs a cooled humidor, they should jump on this.
Una consulta, para cuántas botellas tiene capacidad?
i believe this holds 20 bottles or more. if you put bottles on the floor of the device it can hold 24 bottles.

James thanks for the awesome vid.. have you had any condensation issues???

You're not supposed to mix different percentage bovedas
it works for me.
so we4 u able to stable the temp while the cooler is on cuz thats my oroblem
it fluctuates about 5 degrees. The humidity messes with the temperature. But at least is is 15 degrees cooler now.
Honest Cigar Reviews wer is the fluctuation at? Meaning for example 60 to 65 or 62 to 67 for humidity...thanx

Humidors don't have any intelligence. It is an inanimate object. However, the design may have some intelligence behind it.
fo show!
hyGrometer. With a G.
ahhaha yes I have been saying it wrong my whole life!

Jim Scott I think I will work something out with the spanish cedar guys!

yeah I will! I will make this a 4 part series i think!
wineadors.com is where I got mine. Quality is great, but you'll be waiting for a while to get them.
Jared Carver yes I might do that or I might do something else to display the cigars inside
