    Thank you very much for this review. I have just purchased this model direct from the manufacturer and am awaiting delivery. The info regarding the power lead is really useful should my unit turn up with the European plug. Also the preparation instructions were clear and simple. Many thanks again. Harry.

      hh15031965 thanks for taking the time to watch the video and comment. The only step I did differently to the instruction is give the cedar a quick wipe down with distilled water, the manual does not recommend this, I have only done this as I’ve seasoned many humidors so just bare that in mind when seasoning your own humidor, on reflection I didn’t really need to damp the wood at all but it’s done no harm.
      The RH level has been rock solid and the temps have been perfect, the only bug Bare is the sound it makes, it’s very loud.
      Good luck with the new humidor.

      Darren Illsley great question; I like the subscriptions, I’ve been thinking about the privada one recently as a matter of fact. Cgars do a couple of good ones in the U.K. also. I don’t buy from any one place really, I use multiple stores and websites, most common one is cgars but I’ve used others and when I get a chance to go overseas I see if I can pick up some sticks also.

      BlueLightCigars will give it a go. Forgot to ask is the wood in the humidor cedar? (Can’t find any info on that) I’m a bit apprehensive if it ain’t. Darren Illsley on this particular model is it Spanish cedar yes. On the smaller model it is beechwood. So just double check with the model you are looking to get.

      Brilliant, hope you enjoy your purchase, the only thing I’d do differently if I was to buy another is I don’t know if I’d bother with the wetting of the cedar…I think I’d just leave the boveda 84% in there for 14 days, either way works just as fine but would save a step in the set up process.
      Enjoy your humidor and thank you for the kind words.

    Recently bought the El Presidente 33. The buzzing is driving me mental. It's only cools if the set temp is lower than ambient temp. I set the temp higher than the room temp so the fan doesn't need to come on and it still buzzes so loud the Samsung TV has to be on volume level 13 to drown it. When I lowered,the temp during recent heatwave and the fan was running too, it sounded like someone was doing the carpets.

      Hello, thanks for the kind words are you trying to lower the temperature or increase? Remember that the unit is essentially a wine cooler so the unit will only cool between a range of 18 to 23 - if the room temperature is not 21 then the humidor will not hit 21, the unit does not provide any heat element it simply increases or decreases the fan. Hope this helps.

But I can say for 23l its smoler ,and much toros don't go in side on the plate but for mee when I com from some bigger shoping I use it like big box and put cca 7-9boxes without any shelws i use only bottom drower whic I use for cigars that are unpaired. And boxes exe. Robusto can go on the plait normal,Romeo&Julieta can go normal but Toro and bigger must go sideways and I can put to the top also it's wery deep so it san space big allot but shalws must go only drower whic is last one. I haw 7 boxes and 20 Toros in the drower. Also its first humidor that I didn't touch selfs with destild water i only clean inside plastick. After that I put destil wother on shelf and wait for 24h to humidity go in 75% , dump destill wather and use 2 Bovida 69% 60g. Humidity is on spot 69% and Tc is 18°C also I calibrate their higrometar and its like my digital. So please don't trowe that analog gages .Some of them are perfectly fine. And in mine with out of drowers I can put 200 with boxes and 100+max 30cigars on shelws cos shelws don't have drowers.

Because I keep this in my bedroom (until I can find another spot suitable in the house) I have to unplug it at night but it drives me and my wife insane....it is very loud! Thankfully unplugging has no effect as just with any regular humidor they aren’t powered anyway. The only purpose in having it plugged in I find is if the outside temp gets to hot and you want to keep the temperature down.
      If it helps you feel better about your purchase, I don’t regret buying it and it’s serving a purpose.

As for the noise, it is loud but it kinda just becomes a white noise in the background, but if it is in a different room to you then no you wouldn’t hear it, even with the door open I don’t think you would hear it in honesty.

      @bluelightcigars7032  2 года назад +1

      Hey man, no no don’t keep them in for the whole period of time. The rule of thumb with a brand new desktop wooden Spanish cedar humidor is to keep 84% 60gram boveda per 25 count cigar for 14 days then remove - so 50 count humidor would be 2x 84% 60gram for 14 days - on this instance I had the 84% in for around 5 to 6 days due to there being very little wood as the only wood is the shelving.

    • @bluelightcigars7032
      @bluelightcigars7032  3 года назад +1

      vincent Hello, I’m not sure if I understand the question fully but essentially this is a humidor like any other, the only difference being that you can regulate temperature (kinda) what I mean by that is the control for temps simply regulates the fan speed so if it’s a hot day and the humidor is reading 24 degrees for example, then you can set the humidor to say 20 and the fan will bring that inside temperature down, however if it is cold and reading 16 degrees then regardless of you setting the fan to say 23 degrees it won’t change anything as it does not apply heat. As for the humidity the shelves on this model are Spanish cedar so although the manual says not to do so, I did what I’ve done with all my previous desk top humidors and I used a sponge and distilled water to the shelves to make sure the shelving did not absorb the humidity when the cigars went inside. Now the humidor does come with a small plastic box which is shown in the video, and you can put distilled water or those gel beads in there and in conjunction with the fan it will supply humidity however I’m not a fan of those methods on any humidor as it is very difficult to control the humidity, my preferred method is boveda and will likely always be boveda until something better comes out in honesty. I hope this answers your question. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment.

    • @fsxpilot77

      BlueLightCigars thanks so much for taking the time to reply. My issue currently is that I have a standard box-type humidor and I’m unable to maintain 20°C in it because my room temperature fluctuates and is generally around 23-24 which heats up the box.. so guessing the El Presidente is going to cool down and maintain 20ish. For humidity I have an electronic humidifier (cigar oasis) that I would reuse to keep the humidity level. So based on your comment, it seems that this humidor is what I need. Thanks!

      dborup Hey mate, yeah there is a constant buzzing noise which gets louder sometimes when the fan kicks in but there is a constant noticeable noise. I have taken to just unplugging the humidor when the temps are fine outside and when it starts to get warm I just plug it in so the fans do their work when required. The noise is the only down side I have found so far though.

    Hi, you can set the desired humidity?

  • @mariuszgorka1002

    Hi, I've bought identical Klarstein and I have some doubts regarding which Boveda packs should I use. I have two options one is 65% and second one is 69%. I want to store both Cuban and "New World" cigars. I'm watching your video and I see that you are using 65%RH and you are maintaining ~68%/69% of RH. So the question is: If I use 69% Boveda packs then my humidity will raise above 70%? In your opinion which packs should I use? Regards, Mariusz

    • @timw7514
      @timw7514 Год назад

      he said that it is very humid in his area. So after he opens the door its normal that the humidtiy in the humidor will also raise. If you are living in a humid area I would go for the 65 and if not I would use 69 bovedas. You can place an airtight container in your humidor where you can store your cubans at 65 % and thats what I do actually. I have an acrylic humidor from Zino inside my wineador. But it has to be an airtight container this is crucial because otherwise your 65 bovedas are messing with the 69.

    How long did it take to get to 22 from initial set up?

    • @bluelightcigars7032
      @bluelightcigars7032  3 года назад

      Hello, I’m assuming you mean the temperature right? So this depends on the heat in your home, this fan simply cools, it does not warm. So if you home or the room your humidor is in, is not at 22 then the humidor will not go to 22, the benefit of the temp control is mainly for the summer months when the temps go above 24 for example, you can then bring the temp down to a range between 18 and 23. Hope this helps 👍🏻 also I don’t have my humidor plugged in during the winter months, pointless really....I’ll maybe plug it back in around may time.

    @BlueLightCigars how much it took yours to reach 21°? I bought the El Presidente 33, and the temperature is stuck at 18 even if I select 21 or 23. Does not seem to want to go up
    any more, and is plugged by 4hrs now.
    Anyway mine doesn't make that much noise, just a little more than a pc

    • @bluelightcigars7032
      @bluelightcigars7032  3 года назад

      It was pretty much instantly, it’s important to remember this thing simply has a fan that increases in speed and decreases in speed so the temperature inside isn’t really controlled, you need to ensure your room temperature is around the same temperature that you want your humidor to be at and select that temperature on the dial on the front door. I’m finding my temperatures are dipping to around 20c at the moment as it is getting cold here so when I put the heating on it climbs again.
      I hope you figure it out, but a good start would be make sure the room is warm.
      Good luck with it 👍🏻

      @@bluelightcigars7032 Ok in fact I see that till around 18/19 (local hour, so with the house quite 'cold') the inside temperature is about 18°. Then when the house start to get warmer, it went up to 20°. Right now is at 18° again. Can this damage the cigars? Probably yours, as is bigger, have bigger fan, and need less time. Hope this 18-19-20 temperature don't damage the cigars.

No further explanation, anything, just said to send it back. Of course I didn't wanted to send it back before knowing if is a real malfunciont or simply is really really reactive to the temperature of the room.
      For a return It will take 10days to go back, and another 7 days for the replacement, and I would not want the 2nd one to act the same and basically be on the same exact boat. Don't know, it's kinda frustrating.
