This thing is 10x better if you order the handlebars for it you can get it off there site. I have a video using the handlebars once I added them never went back to the knee staring, works like a charm :) They cost an extra 185$ but be sure to get the one with the kick stand.
Love my Ninebot Segway Minipro! Get around the city of SF to work and play very nicely and enjoy finally the streets again after 20 years here. The haters walk and I get to enjoy life, the fresh air, no uber or bus pass $ paid....Life is good on a miniPRO.
Hey, great video Tristan. I have a few quesitons for you about the Segway. 1. They said there way ~10mi range on hoverboards. I got 2mi. Nowhere close to 5-10mi. It's still a lot of fun, but not good for long trips. Is this actually 14 mile range? I weigh 165-170lbs. Would I get at least a solid 10miles at near top speed (8-11mph) with the Segway mini pro? 2. Do you think it's worth the $800 upgrade from the 10" hoverboard? 3. How is the turning on this thing, since it is not contorlled by your feet. The hoverboards can turn either on one wheel with a big diameter, or with on wheels with no movement at all.
Make sure your tires are at 45 psi the wheel says 30 i know but segway says 45 mine didnt blow i have used it on 45 psi for months now 30 is way too low
hi. couple of comments. 1) re: speed. Segway is not going to increase max speed by much, if at all. Segways have been around for a long time. The tech is quite mature by now and while it can certainly support faster speeds, it's for safety reasons they keep it capped at 10/11mph. 2) re: weight. it's heavy due to big battery. You mention boosted board v1 having short range. it's got smaller battery pack, so it weighs less. v2 boosted board with longer ranger will for sure utilize a bigger battery pack and will more too. I don't like the weight when I have to lift and carry it, but I'd actually want more range for the segway minipro.. to something like 20 miles on a full charge so I'd put up with an even heavier version.
Boosted Boards has said their extended version will only be about a pound heavier than the standard battery version. I'm not sure how they are managing that. On the Mini-Pro, I think the gyroscope system is also quite heavy, not just the battery.
After using it on a daily basis for over a week, I have to totally agree with your criticism of the speed limiter. It's ANNOYING as hell! I also agree with you that they definitely need to up the top speed to at least 12.5 mph. 15 mph would even be better. I'm SOOOOO annoyed by the top speed limiter and the annoying constant beeping when you hit top speed.
Can you ride this in places like downtown San Francisco or business districts like NY or Chicago? I don't know if they would allow these on the sidewalks in those areas. Can you ride them on bike paths that don't allow motorized vehicles?
1000.00 dollars is too much for me. You can comfortably ride a bike 11 mph and you are sitting. I could buy a pretty nice mountain bike or city type bike with a soft seat for 300.00 I bet. Did you say you need a phone for these?
I believe you do need a smart phone and the app for the initial tutorial and set up, after that though it will run without it. Although you get a lot more customization features with it.
Will the Segway MiniPro fit in a backpack? Plus, if I invest $450 into a Seg, I should be able to call it what I want, "hoverboard" included. // Stop doggin' on China, peeps! The $1000 iPhone is made in China. Hecho en China es muy bueno.
I understand this is not a hoverboard, but please don't assume that all hoverboards catch on fire. The ones that do have all been cheap improperly designed knockoffs. There are UL certified hoverboards out there.
@@phototristan Actually most of the legit companies are, even back in 2017. Don't be ignorant and assume that most aren't safety checked like they used to be. They're around as safe as this board nowadays (just as reliable depending on company in 2020).
I am like you loving electric skateboards. They're so simple to ride and so much fun. I started my own youtube channel about a year ago and would love you to take a look, collaborate if possible and share ideas. Check out my channel! And anyone else reading this, check out my motorised skateboard videos from Australia! Cheers.
It depends what you're looking for. Each is better at certain things, worse at other things but yes, I do prefer the Boosted Board by a fairly large margin.
I agree. 15 or 16 mph would be so much better.

DoomsdayKillz I would just get the Segway Mini-pro your fake so called hoverbored is not safe and can result in injury or evan death the company that made the hoverbored kinda in a since stole the patent and made what they could under law witch resulted into malfunction in all there products and lack of safety so as an ambassador for Segway©® and Nine-bot we encourage all are fans/users to upgrade or buy a newer version.. also just wanna say that the so called fake hoverbored is not endorsed by any companies affiliated with the Nine-bot©® so there for there is no upgrade just simply a choice on whether you wanna buy the mini pro and jump on a wide spectrum of endless possibilities or do you wanna ride a skatebored for the rest of your life lol just trying to make that end sound more dramatic anyways have a good one and hope u have a great Christmas

Indeed.
visiting Shenzhen in December not sure IF it has international warranty or allowing me to bring one back to NYC.
You cannot bring them on a plane due to the size of the battery. You would have to ship it (may not be worth the trouble).
I did call the toll free number a few days ago & they don't offer international warranty.

Agreed. Hopefully they can improve this with a firmware update at some point.

Yes because it's considered a 'personal mobility device' in most places.
How does the anti theft thing works.... can u do a video about it
It's pretty straightforward. You just press the lock icon in the app and then if anyone tries to move it, it beeps and lights up and shuts down.
+phototristan Thanks
What's the too speed?
They say 10 MPH, quite slow..
10 MPH
can this thing climb up a hill? because i stay up in a hill.
Yes, but only up to a 15% grade.
Is this instrumental from the song body on me
Yep, it's from ruclips.net/channel/UCPMJkqqJy-HtQmsgM3jTcqg
are u going to review the lcd4?
Only if I get a review pair in.

Most 'hoverboards' are still not UL certified.
