The now rare, classic Santa Fe "War Bonnet" scheme is one of or perhaps the greatest paint scheme of all time.
Our neighbors to the north. CN and CP know a thing or two about a classy scheme.

What was on fire was the FM radio station’s antenna, not the transmitter. It was a 4 bay antenna meaning that there are four radiating elements. It looks like each of the four elements were covered by what’s called a radome which is made from some type of plastic. My guess is that the connection between the antenna element and the transmission line that feeds power to the element failed causing some serious heating which in turn set the radome on fire. That should have caused the transmitter to turn itself off, removing power from the antenna.

As one from Chicagoland, I can tell you the UP heritage locomotive is a genuine article. A year before the C&NW was taken over, they made one last purchase for new locomotives: the CW44-9! Bought specifically for hauling Powder River Basin coal drags, they featured safety cabs and a brand new paint job! UP 1995 is currently wearing the same scheme as the CW44-9's! That may explain why your not familiar to it. It is a beautiful new pattern of colors, but its future is short lived. I think that is why Uncle Pete picked it: to show that there is at least one railroad they to over that was still toward thinking!🙃

Do you mean to say UP recently repainted 1995 to match the last C&NW GE units? If so, good. I'm asking because this "Heritage" vulgarity bears little resemblence to C&NW's final paint scheme; not even close. It is in fact almost insulting. Norfolk & Southern did it right with their Heritage units.

Love seeing that UP 1995 locomotive. I grew up with C&NW tracks behind my home and watched some of their locomotives switching local industries after they merged with UP. The CW44-9s never made appearances near me, but the color scheme definitely fits. Looking forward to seeing the rebuilt Metra SD70s grace the Chicago area soon!

I stay in Central North Carolina, but this engine Northwestern 1995 is the most requested train Engine in all of the Rochelle bypassing trains on the BNSF cross over of UP at the diamond. Chicago/Northwestern Line famous for trains many years ago. But to see this engine close up was a real treat today, Thank you for doing this video today. I will speak to those fans later today about your video, cause many will want to see this engine upclose and personal. Thanks again V12 PRODUCTIONS.

I literally missed 1995 coming back west on one of my many local mainlines (that being the UP Geneva Sub) this weekend along with NS 1069 and NS 1800 lol. But yesterday on MLK Jr day I was on the Geneva at elmhurst and I randomly saw NS 1073 LEADING a stack train! That was the highlight of my weekend so I’m glad I got to see an HU as I haven’t seen an NS HU in literally years! I’m glad you got 1995 too along with a fresh C6M as this is one of its first time going as foreign power ever since it broke down a while back!
Edit: also thanks for mentioning metra 90! It’s another one of my favorite metra HUs and recently it also broke down and I didn’t even realize until it “came back into service” lol

Yeah, you sure did miss 1995 like crazy. I saw it at Proviso on an inbound. It went to the diesel shop for servicing. by the next day it was gone on an outbound. I assumed it went south on MPRAS. Yours truly's claim to fame is i got to pick 1995 up from the diesel ramp to place it on the out bound North Platte or Council Bluff train, i forget which, for it's maiden voyage. Three days later on the return trip to Proviso, the cab reeked of urine. Lost its new smell quick. I love telling that story.

As a Burlington Northern rail fan in Canton Illinois the only trains I see is kind of none but I do get a couple but I do know there is an old Burlington Northern Train number 1997 and although it's not green and it's black I still like it even though it looks like it's rusting away in the siding that has been placed there's also a little train depot right next to it but now it's just kind of turned into a little meeting place also we don't get very many trains but I was driving the thing on Google maps seeing our little area and I think it was an error but the rails were not connected at the railroad crossing lol but it's some I think error because I checked it in the rails were completely fine in the Burlington Northern engine look to be a switcher locomotive I don't know what types and sing it was all black and white it had Canton on the side and the number was on the cab and I don't know if the Burlington Northern engine was original number was actually 1997 but I don't know I think that was the original number of the train and also about the fire you talked about the radio transmission thing and I think caught on fire but anyways 🚂👍

The transmitter was not on fire. The transmitter is down on a floor below the tower base. The high power signal goes up a transmission line from the transmitter to the antenna structure on the tower. In this case the antenna is made of several antennas in an array. The curly looking thing left after the piece dropped off is one of the antenna components. It would appear that the fiberglass radome which normally surrounds the antenna component caught fire. Either a malfunctioning deicer or a radio frequency power issue.

Isn’t the Chicago And North Western System was part of Norfolk Southern because the Chicago And North Western System was part of the Pennsylvania Railroad which is now Norfolk Southern. And if you look up Norfolk Southern’s Heritage Railroads and it will show that both the Pennsylvania Railroad and the Chicago And North Western System are both in Norfolk Southern’s Heritage. So it makes me puzzled to see the Chicago And North Western System being a Union Pacific Heritage Railroad instead of the Chicago And North Western System being a Norfolk Southern Heritage Railroad.

Ironically, in 2018 (the year I caught 1995), our “Comic-Con” known by us as “Pensacon” had the colors of green and yellow, so it was interesting to find the Graffiti Bridge painted in CNW colors while lettered in white “Pensacon 18” with UP1995 passing over it.

Another five star ⭐ video a good video that I would love for you to do maybe in the future is to do a video of all the older EMD engines left in 🇺🇸 like you're probably going to have to do your research but I would love to see a video of you showing all the older SD40s GP38s GP9 GP40s and possibly some older switcher engines. C 40 C W locomotives that were very popular in the late 80s and very late 90s and into the very early 2000s. Then shortly after you saw all these Dash 9 Locomotive taking over everything. It makes me really sad when I go looking for a Train and that's all I find is Dash 9 locomotives. They are awesome locomotive don't get me wrong but when you see these things everywhere and there's really nothing different only the paint scheme it gets kind of old. I want to see the old school locomotives the actual power of America actually EMD units. In my opinion I think EMD units were more Superior than these Dash 9 units. I love SD40S and SD45S they are one of my favorite locomotives for EMD Power. Please do a video of all the remaining EMD power in America's Railroads. I can give you a piece of advice on where to Start. You want to start in New England preferably Massachusetts, the South Deerfield, Massachusetts freight yard. Pan am railways has a lot of older EMD units that they bought off of CSX years ago. CSX recently just purchased Pam and railways for 700 Million Dollars and they mentioned that Pam and railways has 102 locomotives on their roster they are selling 30 of the locomotives to a Midwestern shortline railroad just like Pam am railways roughly the same size maybe a little bit bigger. The other 72 locomotives that are left on their roster they will fix what needs to be fixed on them maintain them. And some of them will be painted back to CSX paint scheme but a lot of these units already say CSX on them because Pan am railways purchased these locomotives from CSX years ago. So those units might just stay just the way they are. But the ones that have the paint scheme that are basically deteriorating and the engine looks like shit those are the ones that will have their paint schemes redone. And CSX also mentioned that they want to repaint a handful of the C 40 8 W four or five of them will be repainted. But they want to repaint one of them and see how it looks. And if the company likes the paint scheme and it isn't too expensive to do they will do another three units like that. In my opinion that would look awesome repainting those older units to a brand new paint scheme and actually fixing them back up to 100% mechanical order. long story short I just want to see an awesome video of older EMD units or especially older GE units like the C 40 s

I watch a lot of train videos on RUclips but without a doubt you are the most intelligent person when it comes to locomotive knowledge that's my opinion I know you don't know everything but you know a lot brother. I thought I could name every single locomotive that's out there but sometimes I have trouble but you you know every locomotive that pops up on the screen. I have a question ❓ all locomotives nowadays basically all look the same. It doesn't matter if it's northfolk Southern or CSX Canadian Northern CP rail Union Pacific Burlington Northern Santa Fe BNSF and many more. All these railroads have one thing in common all their locomotives look identical. Where are all the older locomotives the older emds SD40s SD45s SD60s GP38 GP40s GP9 GP in general. Ninety percent of the trains I see are all DASH 9 locomotive engines. My question to you is are all these locomotives actually Dash 9 ???? I might be getting the name of the locomotive wrong but in my opinion they all look like DASH 9 locomotives what is your opinion on this?
