Bearsident in a box another tip that isn't in this video that you might need to share is count your change if you are going to dump 50 coins of pennies, Nickles, dimes and quarters try to atleast count it. You are wasting a lot of time because the employee who you gave all this change to now has to count it all and give the appropriate change or charge you the remaining because that isn't enough.

Typical Canadian Car Guy put the change in a jar and save it. Just use bills. it’s so much easier. Just make sure they aren't hundreds.

Then she waited and I said “you’re missing a $100 and she said something like “I handed you a 100!!!” She was so sure that I had stole money from her that after she paid she came back and complained so my manager showed her the security footage. Don't be super pissy if you do have to wait for change. And DO NOT look in the drawer when it pops open & talk while i am counting or say "well i see a $10 & i'd rather have that." MY drawer= MY business! I am responsible for that so i arrange bills as needed; if you just got all 3 of my twenties, 2 tens, 3 fives & 4 ones- give me the consideration of paying attention while i count it back to you, & do not worry what is left in my drawer! It may be ripped or i may have reason to believe it is counterfeit or it may be the next person in line deserves the quickest service i can give them while still reasonably accomodating you.

One time I saw a boy kicking and punching the automatic exit door. He was trying to open it but since he was too small for the sensors to detect him the door wouldn't open. He then proceeded to push it to the side and it hardly opened to the half and then started to close. And what do you think he did? he stood in the doorway, one hand on the door and the other on the door frame and tried to keep it open while it was closing on him. The second I saw this, I ran like a madman and yanked him out of there. I have left the customer I was dealing with and ran and when I returned, the woman asked me with a blank face: what happened? I told her that the boy was nearly smashed by the door. She didnt reply anything and when I have finished with her, she went to the exit and grabbed that same boy by the hand and got out.
She didnt tell him it was dangerous to do such things and she didnt even thank me although she what could have happened with her son. I know that the door isnt strong enough to make him into a puree but still he could have been injured and then she would have probably sued us. Why can't people watch their damn kids?

I took their order and the women sat in the very back of the restraunt their kids where near the front door running around, one moment later they all pushed at one door and got out, my boss ran like a mad women because right outside was a very busy street. Cars would zoom past really quickly, she yelled at them and pulled them back in, she was so mad she went to the moms and told them what happened. They got mad at my boss for telling them how to raise their children! She didnt back down and told them to watch their kids and keep them under control or get out and not come back. I work at a grocery store and on Christmas Eve we close at 6:00, something that the store had been advertising for a while, and we had been making announcements about the closing time at regular intervals almost all day. Of course, this did nothing to make customers rush and at 6:00 there were about 20 carts at each open register. Customers need to understand that it sucks enough to work on a holiday without them adding on extra time to the shift; we have lives, friends and family we want to go celebrate with too so get your shopping done earlier than 5 minutes before closing and wasting everyones time!

We still have people coming after we close. We have to tell them that we are closed for the day. Here is an easy rule: if you like to see your family and friends, we like to see our as well. I am so sorry that you did not plan ahead on this.

21: Don't abuse "the customer is always right" if you are wrong, I'm going to, within reason, let you know. There's no reason for you to carry on like a fool when I've listed all the reasons you're wrong and I've been reasonably polite about it. Nothing I do to you, the customer, is going to be in an "in your face" type of manner. So if I have concisely and politely told you why you are wrong, please, stop arguing and accept the fact that I just fucking owned your logic.

Once worked at coffee shop about 2 blocks away from a church (and 3 blocks from another) and tons of elderly people would come in every day after service. One thing that drove me up the wall, instead of paying a dollar for lemonade (free refills) they would all order free waters and all ask for a complimentary plate of lemons...each. WTF! Grandma no matter how hard you squeeze that lemon wedge, you cannot possibly get as much juice out of it as our industrial juicer. and we would zest the lemons first and boil down sugar to make a simple syrup. we got every drop of lemony goodness from those lemons to make the homemade lemonade. The boss worked it out that he was losing hundreds of dollars of a month on those complementary lemon plates and cut that s*** out. that sent those old people into a tizzy. "This is ridiculous! This place has gotten so cheapskate! I'm never coming back here again!" Ummmm, it's people like you that can make a place go out of business.

Because they didn't lemonade, they wanted lemon water. Unless you witnessed them also using all your sugars.

I work in the food court and I had some fat guy yell at me because I told him we did not do free refills. He said well where does it say that. So I just made him aware that it does not say anywhere that we do.. so as hes making a big scene because I was "rude" I tell him next time he can go to Chick-fil-a they do refills. Its insane how people can get mad over the smallest thing and try to make you look bad. I just come to work and serve food and drinks I dont make the menu I dont set the prices I dont make the rules -_-

    • @MissNayNay
      @MissNayNay 6 лет назад

I'm sorry, but that was on you guys. It's normal for places to have free refill, so it's wise to put up a sign that says that you guys don't offer it. Drinks accompany a meal, so even though it's not a gigantic issue, it isn't that small, either. Any restaurant that I went to that didn't offer free refills ALWAYS had a sign saying so.

    • @cijmo
      @cijmo 6 лет назад +2

You can always shut them up by giving another example. "Go to a gas station and ask for a free refill, see how far you get." We have people returning used items because they 'rarely use it'. Well, if you buy a car and drive it only on Sundays, you still have to pay for the car.

I always enjoy hearing "this is cheaper at another store." Ok. Great. Good for them. I work in a meat market and we don't have a price match guarantee or anything so there's nothing I can do. What really bothers me the most is when I'm behind the seafood counter and customers think they can just lift up the glass windows and start TOUCHING WHATEVER THEY WANT. This is not a self service case, and more importantly YOU WILL GET SOMEONE SICK! Would you like it if I grabbed whatever you asked for without gloves? No. This is how places get fined, or shut down permanently. Plus whatever you touched cannot be sold, (even if you plan on purchasing it) so thanks for costing us more $$ than what your spending.

    • @cijmo
      @cijmo 6 лет назад +4

Because I worked in a thrift shop, we often heard "I can get this brand new for just a few dollars more." It's handy now because we can ask them to go and take a picture of the price tag/sale price of the identical item (don't go bringing us President's Choice when we've got Jamie Oliver in the store) and we'll cut our price in half. Generally they buy and never come back but one of our cashiers says "I would buy it then. If I could get this brand new for only this price I would buy it."

It's not really a rule, but I feel like "If we don't make commission, we really don't care if you buy it or not" should be up there.
It's always hilarious when a customer tries to haggle and "take their business elsewhere" Then I get to respond with "I'm sorry to hear that. Have a nice day!" and go back to working and they just stand there, dumbfounded. Like, I'm making the same amount of money whether you buy it or not so I have zero shits to give.

I use to work in a convenience store that had a deli and that is where I worked. We served breakfast food, lunch, and dinner. We use to have a bunch of guys that worked loading trucks at UPS and they'd come in between two and three a.m. every morning after they got off work and have breakfast. Most of the time they'd hang around an hour or so and just sit there and talk, that wasn't a problem. As the deli worker it was my job to make sure that the tables were clean, sanitized, and the salt and pepper shakers as well as the napkin holders were stocked before the morning rush. Most of the time all I had to do once they left was wipe a few crumbs of the tables and it was fine. But after a time it got to the point where they were just leaving a mess, as in opening ketchup and mustard packets and drawing on the table with them. The fourth time they came in after leaving a mess three times in a row I went back there to talk to them and asked to please not make such a mess. Well one of the piped up and said, well that's your job to clean up our mess. I looked right at him and said, without even raising my voice, I replied, No sir, it's not, I'm not a damn waiter and you don't leave tips. The one that made the remark never came back again and the others stopped making those damn messes.
People assume that when they're in some place that they can do whatever the hell they want to do because the customer is always right. NO, that's bullshit! If you're wrong, you're wrong and I don't give a fat rats ass who you are. Respect me and I'll respect you, disrespect me and I'll do the same for you. As is said, you get as good as you give. It's way past time for these stores to stop cowering to all the asshole people and start taking up for their employees. The amount of asshole customers are a small minority, who needs them? I know that answer, the greedy bastards that run the stores.

People don't leave tips to convenience store workers as you do not serve food to the customer at the table. You get your food from the deli and take it the table yourself. That's why I told them that I was no waiter and they didn't leave tips. Unlike a waiter or a waitress I made a good hourly wage so I didn't need tips.

At Walmart, our power went off last summer for over 4 hours. The whole town was out of power. It was an issue with the transformer or something and it obviously took hours to correct. It flickered at first. Then it went back off. After about 30 seconds, an assistant gets on the intercom and announces for all customers to go to the front to pay for their selections as it was only a matter of time before the registers shut off and they couldn't pay for their merchandise. Management told us to direct any customers we saw to the front. I directed one guy and he stormed off and said that was the last time he would buy anything here. I was thinking "yeah right" and told him "I'm sorry sir but where our power went out, a manager announced that it was only a matter of time before the registers would shut off completely until power was restored. He then proceeded to call me an idiot and threatened to call the district manager.

what part of "ends at midnight" did you not understand? not midnight plus an extra 15 minutes to allow you time to get home. NO! midnightl

You ordered this drink knowing full well it would get noisy. Get off your phone. No, I’m not the rude one for interrupting your conversation with questions I’m required to ask (like “do you want your receipt?”) Yes, I get people leaving bad reviews because apparently I interrupt their conversation. You’re the rude one for refusing to pause your conversation and refusing to give proper attention to the person trying to help you.
And, for the love of GOD, please stop asking a hundred nutritional questions about your order AFTER you’ve ordered it. Questions are supposed to be BEFORE you order your stupid meal. These people probably buy ink at Staples and later call the store and ask if it works with their specific printer.
Reading doesn’t just go for coupons either. Read ALL the details of any special. “Isn’t it happy hour?” No. That’s only Monday through Thursday, and it’s Saturday. Even on M-T, it’s from 4:30 to 6:00, and right now, it’s 8am. Also, your two drinks of different flavors wouldn’t qualify for happy hour anyway. When I was younger, I worked at a movie theater, and the people payed with a 100, and they literally cleaned out my entire drawer. I was pretty immature back then, and after the transaction i told them; "Thank you for cleaning out my drawer" in a somewhat joking way, but I was mostly pissed about it. +Patricia I had to actually turn people away who would come in right at open on Monday morning (6:30am) before the boss had gone to the bank or come in to open the safe. They come in, buy a pack of .75 cent gum, then ask to pay with a $100. "I'm sorry sir, we haven't gone to the bank yet this morning, so I can't break that for you."
Most of the time they understood, but every once in a while they'd give me a look, to which I'd smile brightly and ask if they had another form of payment. At this point they usually just glared and stalked off. I usually ended up saying "have a great day!" to them as I hurried even faster out the door. All perfectly polite, no hint of sarcasm, just cheerful. Kill them with kindness or something.

First one got me so fired up, I work at a coffee shop and people will buy 1$ donuts with a 100$ bill... "Sorry that's the smallest bill I have" what so you're just walking around 1000$ bills ? Or they'll say "this is the only change I have." I one time had the pleasure of telling a women who was paying a 4$ order with a 100$ bill that I don't have the change for that because all the tills were flushed and the money was already counted. She blinked at me a few times while I told her I was sorry and I was just about to give her the coffee for free because it was already made when she flipped out. "This is ridiculous! You don't have a sign stating you don't accept 100$ bills!" She left in a huff and then later filed a complaint against me. She lied in the complaint stating that I wouldn't explain why I wouldn't take her money even though I very clearly did and I explained it a few times. She also made a sob story about how she waited in line for over 10 minutes and how normally she has a great experience and she's a frequent costumer. I have never seen this women in my entire life and I've worked at this location for 5 years. No one recognizes her and as for her waiting 10 minutes? Yeah that tends to happen when we have over 60 costumers waiting in line. We can only go so fast.

If you want to put gas in your car please make sure that you are at a pump, don't go up to the customer and say "I'm not at a pump but I want 10 on pump 5
If an employee is mopping and leaves a dry walkway for you to walk on, absolutely do not be that douche who walks on the wet floor.
There is a certain time that everything is done, don't be that customer who lists everything wrong with the store "oh ok so there's a puddle in the restroom and one of the paper towel machines is empty and one of the stalls is needs a new roll of tp, and the counters are dirty. " We will do it when it is time to do it.

They open the same time as the front dinning area. Sure sometimes the drive thru stays open at least an hour later or so than the dining, but official opening is the same for both.

    1. Only tolerable when it's well into store hours, like lunch period or dinner service. First person to order? Don't give us that $100 bill, I will hurt you.
    2. Luckily haven't had to deal with this yet. YET.
    3. This actually sparked a policy where we had to get a customer signature on all receipts for a card payment on an order because the scamming for free food got so bad one time. KEEP YOUR DAMN RECEIPTS. JESUS.
    4. No issues here, but I find it wasteful when a customer wants a bag for their $5 box meal. You have a nifty little box with your order, napkins, and hot sauce inside, don't waste bags!
    5. UGH, this has happened twice to me. And the second time was really fucking awkward since the customer wanted me to talk to her companion on her phone to explain to them that our location doesn't offer chalupas. Don't. Just, please, don't.
    6. We don't have the problem with putting stuff away (Taco Bell Express, after all), but the deciding not to buy it is annoying. As for all you who order before checking if you have enough to cover your bill, and especially if you cancel the order, you have inconvenienced EVERYONE. Gawd!
    7. Story time! This guy complained that our lobby was dirty while we were catching up on cleaning after a huge rush, got his order from Burger king, and then left trash, ketchup, and a bite of a sandwich behind when he was done eating. WTF??? Stop leaving your trash behind like this is a normal restaurant where bussing is the standard operating procedure there, it's rude and makes you look like a slob.
    8. This doesn't apply to us since it's a truckstop. But I do find it annoying.
    9. This more applies to janitorial positions in the main truckstop, but please guys, cut them a break. They're good at their job, but I haven't seen this issue yet...
    10. Don't do this, people. Ever.
    11. Oh, all you parents out there... Please keep an eye on your kids. If they get behind the counter (we can't gate it off due to shop layout), I will flip my sh1t. They shouldn't be back there for obvious reasons, and don't try and tell me to be more polite about shooing them out of the area when you know damn well they're not supposed to be in the kitchen. Also, take them outside if they act up and cause a ruckus so the other customers can eat in peace.
    12. Haven't had this problem yet. YET.
    13. We don't accept coupons at our Taco Bell Express, and in the case of certain items, read the fine print on the menu to take note of that before you finalize your order.
    14. Move along, you're holding up the line, people.
    15. I get asked where the slide pad is. People, we don't have it, we have to make the swipe.
    16. Not applicable.
    17. This happens to me a bit.
    18. My god, people, just wait your damn turn!
    19. I relate to this quite a bit. Granted we haven't had an issue--at least, while I was on duty--where someone had to yell and scream about their order, but if your order is wrong, be polite when bringing it up and we'll get it fixed. One person who ordered at Burger King had an explosion about his order that accidentally got bacon on it--couldn't have it for reasons--and it was so bad that our manager came out, calmly as possible, and told him to either clam down and discuss it politely, or she would call the cops. The guy shut up and ran off. I'm not making this up.
    20. I cannot tell you how much it annoys me when we shut our lights off at 10 PM and finish our cleaning so we can go home and some birdbrain comes up and asks if we're closed or starts making their order. The lights are off, the food is put away, cleaning is in progress, we're not serving anymore until the next morning at 9 AM! Go away and let us do our job so we can go home! If you want to eat after 10, go to the main restaurant down the hall, they're open 24/7.

21: Do not pay for a cheap item, like 2.50 with large denomination bills-- I wont accept them, I will refer you to the bank down the street for change..
22: Yes, I have a garbage can-- but it is RUDE to bring your trash into MY store to get rid of it. Take it home and dispose of it.
23: Asking me to read the details of an item-- Where are your glasses? AND you DROVE here without them??
24: I forgot my wallet-- Really? you come to shop (let alone you drove here) WITHOUT YOUR WALLET?
24a: I forgot my wallet-- AFTER I have waited on you, showed you items, set product you would like to buy on the counter then this--
25: Leaves credit card on counter-- I hand every customer their credit card back so this dosent happen; but lo an behold someone always puts it down and forgets it.
26: Calling to see if said credit card was lost in my store (face palm) THEN IS TOO EMBARRASSED/LAZY TO COME AND GET IT.
27: Do you work here? -- person asks as I come out from around the counter, or behind the show cases, or from the work area.
28: Comes in the back door-- The person knows that this isnt an entrance(FOR CUSTOMERS), tries to be cute about it-- and when is called on it, gets upset.
29: Shows up 5 minds to close-- Oh, I will be quick-- and proceeds to drag their feet, taking their time.
30: Comes up to me as I am walking to my car at end of day-- "Are you still open?" NO. GOODBYE.
31: Customers friend tells him/her "Its cheaper at so and sos" in front of me- OR CUSTOMER tells me they can get it cheaper at so and sos or online-- THIS IS EXTREMELY RUDE. I tell them go ahead.
31a: Customer brings in item they bought at another store, and expects me to either fix or warranty it for them-- Why not take it to where you bought it?
32b: Customer bought it online and wants me to fix/warranty item-- Refer to item 31a:
33: Customer tries to get a discount/something free--- This is discretionary; If you are making a decent purchase, I may cut you some slack. If it is obvious you are just looking for a freebie; and you and I know you are its not gonna happen.

I would tell my manager that I'm not paid to be nice to customers after we close at 10pm. If you come into my store 2 minutes till close and claim you just need a second, then come to my line 5-10 minutes after we close, I am going to be rude. You just hindered what I can get zoned and recovered before we leave for the night, which in turn makes it look like i didn't do shit to the opening manager when they come in.

Contactless cards have made is so much worse. We have a policy from banks that after the service day has ended they MUST be cut up and disposed of. one time this happend, and 2 days later, a woman comes in screaming that she left her contactless card in our store and one of 'you slimy little bastards' must have stolen it and she was going to call the police. My college, Tom, asked who she banked with, proceeded to call them on the phone and had them tell her the policy. She put the phone down and walked out of the store.

starwars1744 I hate when someone comes up with a cart... and leaves it right in front of the register and there is a LINE of people... (or even just one person). Rude much? Neither myself or the following customer should have to go out of our way to put said cart away. Especially when the place to put your cart is literally a foot from the door you are leaving out of! Or the people who use baskets and instead of dropping them off at door on way out or handing to me, set it on the floor for the next person to trip on. People can't respect the business, the employees, or the other customers. Sad world.
As far as keeping things in the back, I HATE that. I'm sure some stores do keep things in back... but where I work, we work product out to floor every day. The whole point is to have it out, NOT sitting in the back. No room in the back room, and how would we make money if we kept everything in the back? Plus, we put our overstock on the top shelves. These shelves are super high, no price labels, usually only a few items that don't fit on full shelf, and people STILL treat it like it's a regular shelf. They ask me the price of the item, or complain it's too high... I reach over to where the product actually is, two inches in front of their face, clearly priced, and put in cart.

Then he kept changing his story when I asked for the receipt. He's like I bought it on Friday and it already had mold on it when I got it home. I'm like uhh didn't you say you bought it on Wednesday. He's like just return it. I'm like I can't the date is passed and it has mold on us. He's like I don't care. 🙂

Work at a supermarket, online shopping. We have a service where the customer can order online and then come to the store to collect it. We have 2 windows (10am - 2pm and 4 - 8pm) in which to choose from and then have 4 hours to pick it up. It is amazing how many times customers dont turn up and dont call us then turn up a day, 2 days or even a week later to pick it up and actually scream blue murder at us that we dont have it (we returned the items, we dont have heaps of storage space). I just wonder why they think its ok to do this.. do they book a table at a cafe for thursday 7:30pm and then turn up on Saturday????

The carts in the parking lot, that drives me up a wall. I have seen carts that were sitting next to the corral, it apparently hurts the other people to walk a few more feet and put them where they belong. As for seeing all kinds of food in areas that they don't belong in, yeah, more customers that have been branded with the lazy ass disease.
This was not listed on the video, but, my wife and I went grocery shopping, another family came in and in the fruit section the baby was in the cart by itself, the others just left the kid there to get something else. Wife and I walked down the drink aisle and I yelled, "Keep your eyes on your damn child!" I hope they heard me, I really do.

Here's a good one. Coming up to the counter and after the cashier rings up some items, walk away to grab something else you needed, leaving all your stuff at the counter while there is a line.
Also for smaller stores (I work in one) buy something, then come back again 4 or more times to buy other things. In small stores, the cashiers job is usually not only to run till but also to stock cigarettes, organize shelves, dust, clean messes, and other things pertaining to keeping the place running. Get what you want, pay for it, then leave.
Also don't stand at the counter talking to someone you bumped into while at the store blocking others from getting through the line.

The kid thing is a big one for me. I don’t get paid on commission, but the sales per hour is something my manager looks at. I was working with someone that was about to spend about $400 which was really good for me! And then the kids show up. They’re screaming non stop. The mother isn’t even trying to quiet them. After 15 minutes of non stop screaming my customer tells me she needs to go because she can’t listen to it anymore. I don’t blame her for wanting to leave, I would have too. I listened to screaming for another 20 minutes.

    22. After all the info is put in and the drawer pops out for the change, don't say "oh I have "so and so" cents." It isn't about being able to count change but giving you a different amount than what was put in the computer throws the drawer off and makes us come up short at the end of the night. That affects us and we get write-ups for it.

  • @hanaechan2
    @hanaechan2 5 лет назад +2

I agree with all of them exept for the 12th one. To be honest, I often ask this question for a few reasons :
1/ I am quite the timid person, so asking rigt away for something feels wrong to me; I always end up asking "do you work here?" as a way of saying "can you help me?" while giving the employee the opportunity to turn me of by saying "no I don't work here" instead of him to have to say "i'm busy" or something that could come as rude / I am making sure I am not in an unwanted conversation
2/ Here in France, sometimes it is not that clear who works in the shop.Last year I had this green coat, who was probably a bit too long and awkward looking because a lot of people where asking me questions (like if I was an employee). So now if I am not 100*/* sure I am talking to an employee, I will always ask the question as to not disturb someone that is just doing is groceries (I don't ask this question if the employees have a badge or a hat, but an apron is not enough for me, i mean... people can be eccentric sometimes...) .
3/ I realise now that I do the same while asking for the toilet when I am in someone's house. I ask "do you have toilets?" as a way of asking "can I use/where are your toilet?" of course I do suspect he as toilet in is house :p ! but this is always the way my parents asked for this; so I suppose I took on their abits, as we all do. I know I sound dumb and overexagerating with this whole story, but then again, it's a simple and easy question that doesn't need a long response, so it is probably overreacting too to get really angry about it.
I do understand it can look dumb in some situation, but please note that sometime , this question is not asked out of stupidity/rudeness, but is just a demonstration of the way someone was raised. :)
