    Totally, agree with your opening statement as Peter Tan mentioned. I also agree that Public Schools are mostly better than Private ones. Teach them about God and about honesty and never to take anything that does not belong to them. You and wife are amazing parents.

    Thank you, very interesting video. You guys are very good parents. Your kids are well brought up, well mannered and polite. You have got bright kids so don’t worry, they will do well.❤️

    Even if you omit off the kids' character from the equation, the difference between private and public schools in Malaysia is really spot on!

    Well said. Love of a parent doesn't include spoiling or letting the kids climb over heads and acting like spoiled brats. Manners, courtesy, discipline and respect are qualities that MUST be taught, encouraged and instilled in the younger generations. Failure of the parents if these kids don't have these life's qualities. You did good, bro.

      Thank you so much... I try to be practical in my child rearing LOL but certain things like calling our elders and respect is part of our culture also. I don't want them to be too influenced by TV and Tik Tok.

    100% agree with you on the opening statement. That's how my cousin grew up. Her mother baked a cake and let her take it to school and sell it. How much she was able to sell, that's her money for that day.

      Thanks bro... nobody really teaches us how to be parents, everything is trial and error! These are the stuff we should at least learn in school hahahaha! I agree we must show good examples to the kids, I just focus on them being good people. My mom's car is an Axia... the total I paid is RM115 for oil change etc.

    It's a tough decision to make at the start of their education journey to try project the outcome about 2decades later. The main thing I did was to engage my kids in sports, badminton and tennis at state level. This instilled a competitive spirit in them which contributed directly to their academic achievements.

    • @pishedbloke

      Sports is a great way to develop not just good physical traits, but also character as well. So many things in life can be linked to sports education... good point.

    Bro, thanks for sharing your decisions for your kids' education. I guess parents also learn as we go along. But one thing for sure, every parent wants the best for their kids and would want them to be better than we are. I face the same challenges that you face as well - my kids go to sjkc and sonetimes I get frustrated that I cannot help much when they come to me. So sending them to extra classes to improve their Mandarin so that they can easily understand the school work. Tried to also use google translate which most of the time produce weird translations 😂😂😂

    • @pishedbloke
      @pishedbloke  8 дней назад +1

      It's good to see you putting in the extra effort for your kids! We can try our best but it may not work always. I find the after school classes are helping a lot.... so that's why I used that way. Sometimes the child takes time to learn.

    Don't worry bro You make the right decision sending Ailsa & isaac to SJKC. When they both grown up in future.. They will tell you " thank you papa" for sending them to SJKC. It's important to master Chinese language as Global economy will be conquered by China. Look at the EV nowadays... True..

      I think it isn't the end of the world if we don't learn Mandarin but any language will have its benefits. Neither of my children will be great in Mandarin if I am to be honest... but at least they can communicate at a certain level.

    First n foremost discipline, manners and respect are taught from home, not in schools. Rest assured my fren from yr videos the wife and u hv done well with the kids here with lots of love and affection thrown in.
    Education is a bit tricky for most parents who obviously want d best for their children...but LEARNING MUST BE FUN, which sadly it's not since my time 60 yrs ago!
    On languages, learn them all again on a fun basis.
    Spot on...dun worry too much just do the best u can, wat works for yr kids may or may not work for other kids.
    Let children learn from the offset they must earn their keep to instil self worth.
    KISS...
    Keep It Simple Silly! 🙏 😄

    Since you said you were not good in Chinese and you didn't mentioned about your wife's Chinese knowledge, I don't understand why you want to send your second daughter to a Chinese school. I admit I don't know about Chinese schools' Bahasa level now. During the early 80's I heard that a lot of students from Chinese schools didn't obtained a credit for their Bahasa paper in SPM and can't go to Form 6. Unless you have the money to send them overseas, it's almost impossible to get into local public universities. Yes there are local private universities but they are not much cheaper. Hope you have made a good choice for your two other younger children. Good luck.

    Public education is Msia is a Joke, seriously.
    Private education in Msia I cant afford , however, I scrounged and sweat and toiled to put all 3 of my kids through Private education.
    No regrets.

    • @pishedbloke
      @pishedbloke  8 дней назад

      Actually it is the Ministry of Education which keeps flip flopping on their decisions. I find the schools are OK and the teachers at my kid's school are quite committed.

    • @devious17
      @devious17 8 дней назад +1

      @@pishedbloke - Commitment is good but if the policy isnt robust it still leads to naught, yes? I wont gamble with my kids education despite me being a banana just like you but they turn out alright from a chinese school. My secret ingredient is to get them playing together. They will pick it up quick.

    Bro no matter how tough it is for Elsa learning mandarin, do not stop her from studying mandarin classes.
    My regrets are my 2 kids has no mandarin knowledge nor able to speak simply bcos they studied in gomen school. Both have grown up and doing very well in their careers.
    Mandarin is so crucial in this current world. Elsa can learn some foundation and to be able to speak. She will be a smart girl so dont have to stress yourself. Just let it be and guide her whenever needed
