Reducer out for sure!!
The DB needs to be out for sure...But you either need to Decat the header or switch out the header to a Aftermarket One to make it not sound like a sewing machine...
I have MK45’s on my ‘24 FLHX with the reducers installed. I think they sound and perform best. Without the reducer too loud and lost my back pressure and low end torque. Great video.
I'm leaning towards running mine with the reducers in as well. Appreciate the input.
Heres my advice....after havjng an S&S 2-1 superstreet 'racing' on an m8 softail....it was too quiet for me compared to my V&H big shots.I wouldnt go S&S.Get a shorter pipe for more volume.
Great video Nick! In the lower RPM's, the sound is very comparable with the stock vs SS w/reducer in (I can't really hear the difference between both). Exhaust sounds louder on high RPM with the SS unrestricted vs stock. I think the real question is where are you feeling the most HP gains for your riding style? Do you want more HP/torque in the low end or high end? Maybe find the exhaust (stock vs SS) that you feel is the most "in the groove" with you.
Hope that you had a great 4th of July with Steve and the whole family! As always, thank you for your service to our great country brother!
All good things to think about and some good topics to discuss when I throw the headers on as well. Appreciate it brother, don't be a stranger.
I have a 24 road glide with krome werks header 2-2 with kW hp plus slip ons with ripper baffles and I have to say you can’t beat KW you should give them a try . It’s probably the sound you are looking for
I was actually looking at those headers as a possibility. I appreciate the input.
I do have louvered baffles coming for better performance
DB Reducer gives more performance since there is more back pressure. M8 Loves back Pressure.
Stock sound's the best
I'm definitely going to have to disagree with you on that one, but I've always admired you guys who can rock a stock Harley.
@Idahoup lol. The m8 engine will never sound like a old 1936 knuckle head. That's a harley davidson
Did you notice any change in low end performance with the DB reducers in? Have the same mufflers and I’ve only ran it with them out.
I'll be honest, I was mainly looking at it from the sound side for this video. I'll start paying closer attention as I play around with the reducers (in & out) and I'll get back to you on this one.
So I ran the reducers over the last few days… less sound and didn’t notice any change in performance. Thinking they won’t be needed unless you decat or switch head pipes. Fuel moto also recommends leaving them out for best overall performance on a stock head pipe.
I will be leaving them out for now.
Nice. I appreciate the update. That’s helpful.
Did you have to tune the roadside after putting the slip on?
Anytime you change the exhaust or air cleaner, you should tune the bike. With that said, I haven't tuned the Road Glide yet, but I'm switching out the headers very soon (working on it now) and I plan on tuning it then. That's the short answer.
@@Idahoup how long do you plan on riding it before you do the full exhaust and tune?
@@CoreyBurke-b8y Not long, the headers and the tuner are sitting in my garage.
Why do people film exhaust sound in a garage? Misleading sound
