I've always really liked this song since I first heard it, and I came close back in the old times to doing this one, but I never did get around to it. Then I recently saw Josh's lyrics and was like "Yup, Imma do this" :D

This version always sticks out in my head because in other English covers, it seems like the singer is one of the Digidestined, but in this one, it seemed like it was being sung from the Digimon's perspective. Think about it. There are several places in the lyrics that indicate that the singer can't be any of the kids. "Watch me, I'm ready to soar..." "I hoped could last forever after / But the truth is / That there's something we both have to do
..." and finally, "I've dreamt of this moment all of my life
/ When my chance would finally arrive..." The Digimon were waiting for their partners to arrive in the Digital World. The kids end up sitting on the sideline which is referenced by "Watch me, I'm ready to soar." The line, "I hoped could last forever after," when taken in context with the previous line could refer to the kids having to save the digital world, but if you take it with the rest of the verse, it could also mean that the Digi-destined are ultimately trying to go home. I admit that one is kind of weak.
It's a soft translation of the original Japanese lyrics. He left out some parts but left the meaning of the main verses in tact. If you look at the original lyrics you'll see how good a job this is without breaking rhythm and rhyme.

The Digimon franchise is probably my favorite anime right next to the Dragonball franchise.

This actually sounds really good! It reminds me of the official Finnish dub of this song... yes, we actually had the song dubbed, twice - first by the original crappy dubbing studio, then later by a new good team. (...Yes, your version reminds me of the good dub. Though our lyrics are different. Hopefully it's OK if I share a translation?)

Debatable. Digimon's seasons are way better than the Pokemon's equivalents(both story and music wise). Can't say much about the movies.
But on the other side of the coin, Pokemon games are better than Digimon's equivalents. Especially their spin-off Mystery Dungeon series(Which sadly many are not familiar with. Later games in that series could be said to rival Digimon anime storywise. Though they are different mediums).
Why not both?
@@theundergrounder9333 Sure, nothing's there to stop a person from enjoying the best of both series'. I certainly don't. And to clarify,
I do prefer Digimon for the anime and the music. And for the games I prefer the PMD series(which might have something to do with it's more traditional story structure [and pkmn talking like digimons]. Also cool music). I grew bored of the main games pretty quickly.

Saban should've tried to make an English-version of this song when they first dubbed Digimon.
WAY better than "Digimon. . . Digital Monsters. . . Digimon are the CHAMPIONS!!" Ugh. . . I wonder if he'll cover the other Digimon themes besides this, and Brave Heart. And hopefully,. will be FULL versions too. The shortness of the length cut off the hype I felt when I first heard his covers. So good, yet so short. . . I want more. . . I think I'm getting addicted now. . .
