@@thewindmillfullovcorpses I don't really understand the mix on this song 👀 Tuomas is a perfectionist, so I can only imagine that it might have been a deliberate decision to mix the song like that. Floor's voice seems to have been used like any other instrument. I'd have liked her voice to be more prominent in the mix. Maybe one day we'll know why it was done that way.

Still mixed toughts for me about this first new track... it was the same for Noise. I listen to some Nightwish on a daily basis. I like to discover new things, but I need safe places too. So far, I don't feel the home call and the compulsion to go on loop. For Noise my mind didn't change. No trauma until now in more than 20 years of evolution and changes, but maybe they're maturing or aging faster than me? Anyway I think that the key of this track lays in the brass section, even Floor's delivery cadence goes in accordace, like an herald... Still hopeful for the rest of the album. See you!
On the last 2 albums, they didn't pick the greatest songs as singles, so I'm definitely not disregarding this album, but I'm hoping for a change of pace on future songs. The mix is the biggest red flag for me! We shall see!

This is the 3rd and final chapter of his Human Nature work. He had this all written during covid.
First single really wasn't heavy at all for my taste, so I'm curious to see more METVL in future ones if what you are saying is troo! / George
I didn't love it at first, but the song has been growing on me over more listens and now the mix doesn't even bother me that much anymore

😄Very good guys,"a religious scientific song",🤔 But, science is knowledge and religion is belief and knowledge is still evolving were religion is stuck on what the bibel/koran or other ancient tribal books say. I always like the poëtic storytelling Nightwish goes for,the only criticism on this song is the volume of the vocals or maby the production of the audio is a bit off for me.😉🤘
Yeah, definitely want Floor to be heard better. And the Nighwish storytelling is always magic. And I'd say yes, science is knowledge and religion is belief, but I'd argue that there is a bit of knowledge in religion and a bit of belief in science too. Kinda like Yin-Yang.

As already with most of the songs of "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" and "Human :||: Nature" I have a problem. The Message of this song is great, the video is incredibly well made, the singing is, like almost everything from Floor, unbelieveably good and the music is soooo boring.
I adore Floor's solo work and even the Nightwish songs she performed during her solo concerts are stunning. As soon as the whole band is together for me it's mostly disappointing. It would be really nice if they put the metal back into their symphonic music.
I have seen them live in December 2022 in Frankfurt and the support band (Beast in Black) blew Nightwish out of the water. It wasn't even close.
I agree, they are not a symphonic metal band anymore.
The fun left the band after the Anette era. The Floor albums are pandering, thesaurus combing word salads
of Tuomas taking himself too serious. The musical chairs with band members is also a turnoff.

I don't think it's really pandering, but it does come across a bit more self-important than before, although let's be real here, the stuff of early Nightwish definitely has enough flair and drama to be prone to the same criticism by people of different taste. Indeed more metal sound would make it better though for me too. Never saw BiB live but I know they are great!
I don't think this song works at all without the context of the music video. A combined 3 minutes of intro and outro, a bridge that without visuals sounds like the definition of 'random BS go' and Floors vocals being so far back in the mix for the chorus just irritates me.
I don't really mind so much atmospheric stuff, they're good at it, but the mix is indeed a bummer as big as Floor is big...
The song without the video is kinda' average... kinda' meh.
Definitely not the kind of music you pay to hear live.
Concerts are supposed to be fun... not a guilt trip.
I think Tuomas should stick to writing poetry and retire Nightwish. Just my stupid opinion.
When Nightwish, someday perform this live, i think you will get a whole new experince of this song, it will sound way heavier..
