    Since this video is over a year old you may not see this and/or not answer the question.
    But I watched a video of a patient who described their first difficulty as being unable to read as they usually had, with stiffness in the hip area that progressed to the neck and shoulders (PMR), and finally began having temporal headaches (GMA).
    Would taking 4 mg prednisone tablets from a multi-dose pack help until they got an appointment to their doctor?
    Or should they go directly to a HealthPlus?
    Or the emergency room?
    Thank you very much.

    Appreciate the presentation. I have a close friend who has just been diagnosed with it. At present her sight is ok and she is on steroids. Is there can't particular nutritional supplement or food you could recommend to assist her?

    • @dreyeforyou
      @dreyeforyou  Год назад +1

      Hi, thanks for you comment and question. Steroids are the mainstay of treatment. We don't usually recommend food supplements/food.

    Thank you Dr. How long do the steroid take to work and relieve symptoms?

    • @dreyeforyou
      @dreyeforyou  9 месяцев назад +1

      For the pain steroids usually start to work within a day or so.

    Hopefully you can answer my question since its been some time since you presented this video.
    I was diagnosed with GCA about 1 1/2 years ago. I did the initial steroids tx and for the last few months i have gotten Actemra infusions. I have been experiencing dizziness and headaches which i attributed to sinus allergies and stormy weather but its been several days and not going away. Is it possible my symptoms are related to the GCA? I hate bothering my rheumatologist with everything I feel but i am concerned. Thank you.

    • @brianclark5002

      My personal experience with Actemra has been a disaster . I have experience similar conditions, dizziness, headaches, stomach problems and an overall weakness. Are you aware of the lawsuit against the manufacture? there is a class action suit claiming 1128 people have died after taking Actemra. Plus a whole host of serious health issues.

    • @dianagomez9875
      @dianagomez9875 2 месяца назад

      Brian, at my last appointment for the Actemra infusion, I was informed that, while I was still getting Actemra, it would be a new company who makes it. I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not but I too have been experiencing dizziness. I will talk to my rheumatologist about this. Can you tell me which company is being sued? Thank you and take care.

    Hello Dr
    I am 23 years old
    Suddenly I started to have weird feelings in my head on the sides at the beginning it was like pulsating sensation on the left side then i started to have weird pains on both my head sides but it doesn’t last long it comes and goes super fast I don’t have headache or problems in my vision or muscles pain or jaw pain but i just noticed one thing (sometimes i try to put my fingers on the temporal artery near my ears to feel the pulses and I noticed that on my right side the temporal artery is bigger and thicker does this prove diagnosis for temporal arteritis or not ??
    Waiting your kind reply Dr

      @abdulkarimkumainasy6877 I cannot comment on your specific case but I've never of a 23 year old getting temporal arteritis. It's usually in patients >60/70 year old.

    My dad 83 yrs old has GCA and lost vision in both eyes, he continued steriod treatment for nearly 10 months but has started hallucinating, on discontinuing streroids the situation has improved. What is the way forward to keep the disease undercontrol
