Love all the tips for herb's I am living in linden town Guyana south America we have warm season I learned a lot thanks 🙏 for sharing I am happy to follow all instructions
Just bought your spring seed collection and ordered Good Dirt, Vermisterra Worm tea, and Good Dirt plant food. My husband doesn't recognize me anymore. He doesn't know who this grower-wannabe is! Hope, I can convince him I know what I'm doing when I grow my veggies and herbs! Ha! Thanks for the inspiration, Kim!
Hello how are you today I would like to say you do good videos and thank you for all the video tips on planting stuff I have my strawberries from a year ago this year I planted cucumbers peppers tomatoes and for me for the first time I'm growing the cucumbers peppers and tomatoes in my apartment
I didn’t realize Dill was a cool weather herb! I’m also amazed that it survived the cold spell, but now it makes sense. My next batch will probably go in a pot. Thanks!
I was so glad to see this video this morning. Great way to have my cup of coffee. I 'm having issues with growing herbs, so this is a great help. Thank you for keeping gardening fun and simple. I did have the pleasure to order a few of your seed collections. Right now I'm enjoying watching the Paris Coz and Kales grow in my container garden. And warm weather pollinators too. Thanks again for all the information to give to us gardeners. This is my 2nd garden, so I'm eager to utilize all the new found information. Stay blessed!
Hi Calikim. thanks for showing both warm and cool weather herbs. As you know I get mixed up easily. I have 3 tomato branches in water now and am waiting for the roots to grow. They are the Roma variety. Less acidic for me. I have a fork garden now also. {to keep the cats away} Lol. Slugs and snails have had a feast, now they are no more. They had their last meal at my place. May they rest in peace. They were so prolific. I was picking up to 20 shells a day out of each bed. Ew. Wishing you and camera man well. Blessings
Greetings 🙋 Love dill! Have a great dill dip - hollowed out bread bowl. So yummy & addicting! Just beginning my container garden! Just planted tomatoes and rosemary, & tomorrow, potatoes, onions, corn (thinking the corn needs to be in-ground). I've also discovered wild onions growing all throughout my property (my house is nestled in the woods). Just dug a couple of them up &theyre about the same size that I buy at the grocery store! YaY! I love onions... Next up, I'm going to try growing fruit trees from seed. Have you done this yet? So exciting to see your hard work grow! Fruits or veggies, of labor, lol Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge. Happy gardening! 🌱🍅🌳🌽🍃
Thanks Kim! I'm growing a cinnamon basil this year which is really delicious. I like the red leaf basil too... just cuz it's so pretty. PS. The Tomato I planted for the competition has sprouted
Thank you for multitasking and letting us know how to harvest and plant! You are awesome at what you do! My favorite gardener❤ have learned a lot since becoming a subscriber. Thank you🌷🌻
Out here in California and because of these great videos I decided to try gardening out for a try. These videos really helped simplify the concept enough for me to get it. Before gardening was a scary word and it was because I really didn't understand it. Now Kim I live in an apartment and I am super busy. So far my baby herbs are growing and I'm so relieved and excited! Do you have any other suggestions or type of plants that I can plant? So far I got Basil, Italian Parsley, lemon Thyme, and Cilantro. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Lovely herbs! Thank you for all of your help! I have cilantro and peppermint harvesting everyday, my dill and basil are growing slow! I can't wait to eat them too!
I am really wanting to start a garden but I have two littles so I don't know if I can find time to properly garden. Plus my little boy loves to dig in dirt. But I think he would like the idea of the garden. I just don't want him digging it up, lol! By the way I love your videos. I started watching your channel and it got me thinking, a garden would be a nice add on in my life. But yet im already so busy.
Oops, I didn’t know parsley was a cool-weather herb; I could’ve planted mine out with the cilantro. I never used to eat dill but thanks to Kim, I’ve discovered they don’t taste bad with eggs! I’m also growing lemongrass for soups. I will repot it and bring it in for the winter.
I'll be doing my herbs promptly, and keep this years veggie garden a on hold till after summer (don't want that overwhelmed garden experience) I want to install a greenhouse. It's just way too windy for outdoor garden.
Great video. I'm learning so much and cant wait for the weather to warm up so I can plant outside. Im wondering if you could do a video on how to use the worm tea and other fertilizers and how to amend the soil for best results.
Hello DIY - another polar vortex? You have GOT to be sick of winter sending CA sunshine your way! Hope our videos are keeping you warm, thx for watching!
Hi Calikim Ur videos are very helpful I’m using growbags What kind of soil is good for them. I’m using Kellogg’s organic potting soil & gaden soil And mix with cow manure Did it work? Plz plz answer
Here in the New Orleans area it is almost 90* every day now. It is really hard to plant herbs except for basil and mint. Of course I always have tomatoes growing. Why not plant some different types of lettece?
Looks so fun to plant! I love your purple smart pots! Question, can I save a packet of seeds for next year? Would I need to put them in a sealed jar or in a cool dark place? Thanks kim!
Good morning to ya'll down there in southern California :) Good to see the early risers up and about enjoying another sunrise too. Up this way, chance of snow again Thursday morning early with frost again Friday morning. Thinking of shifting more to containering this season if there are not too many objections to turning a container into an action verb :) Thinking Gary (Rusted Garden) is giving you some advertising time during your tomato race? Happy growing Kim. Great camera work Camera Guy! -Bob...
Hello Bob, hang in there, winter has GOT to be over soon! I love it - containering- I think you just coined a new word! Containers make gardening a breeze, don't you think? The tomato grow off will be a lot of fun, looking forward to a great competition! CG says thanks too:) Appreciate you getting up with the sunrise with us!
@@CaliKim29 Have already begun thinking of how to prune back plants in the fall to bring inside with the container and see how long the season could be stretched towards the next year / growing season Kim!
That's frustrating, isn't it?? There a lot of factors here - read through these and which one stand out to you (you know your garden best) and correct from there....hang in there, you have some options! Slow growth in basil can be attributed to factors such as insufficient light, improper watering, poor soil quality, inadequate temperature, nutrient deficiencies, pests, diseases, and overcrowding. Addressing these issues and providing optimal growing conditions will help your basil thrive and reach its full potential. Which one (s) stand out to you that could be a viable cause of your slow growth? Thank you for subscribing and watching....we'll get through this! CaliKim
It definitely is frustrating! So from what you’ve said I’ve noticed that the soil in the pot probably isn’t the great I mixed old soil with half new average soil. I just recently added plant food in hopes it’ll help. Also, I’ve been having my basil really eaten up but something and I don’t know what it is!
Just got most of those same herbs planted over the weekend...except parsley. It is a thing of evil...ok, maybe not that bad, but I just can't stand the taste of it! LOL!!
Concerned with nutrient loss in your grow bags. Better to recirculate water runoff. You are wasting a lot of nutrients. Need to practice sustainability 😊

I planted some basil, rosmary and mint not so long ago! It turned out great, I add them to food almost everyday! Great video!

Great choice of herbs to grow! So much fun to go right outside and snip some herbs for meals, right? Thanks for stopping by!
CaliKim29 Garden & Home DIY yes me and my family love it thanks!
FYI Kim Cilantro can taste soapy to some people due to their genetics (found a lot with people originally from Great Britain).
Great video as always and awesome videographer
I can't grow outside yet. There will be another polar vortex in lower Michigan. It might not freez but the indoor garden will go outside soon

Nice!!! 👍
Question, how do you deal with caterpillars being on your dill and parsley???
Are black swallowtail butterflies in your area???
We grow cilantro that we start seed and now blooming
Excellent - remember to save those wonderful seeds for future plantings!! Thanks for stopping by!!
@@CaliKim29 I will save the seeds from the cilantro
Carrot and coriander soup! YUM! (I don't like cilantro but the soup...... Oh my goodness!) Just saying! LOL!
I didn't know I could plant dill early I always plant it when I plant my cukes so it is ready when the cukes are ready for piking
Are you able to include Thai basil, thai eggplants in your seed collections? 😊
Is styrofoam good to grow lavendar?
Herbs in containers is what I'm all about! Well small containers...otherwise known as pots.
Super! What is your fav herb to grow? So much fun to go grocery shopping in your backyard, right?? Thanks for stopping by!

Gary where are you at in the comments section :)
i bought a fabric raised bed the same size as the purple one you have, but for only $2 at the dollar store because i wanted to save money 😂😂😂
What size are your peat pellets? I like the size you are using. The ones l'm using are only 1" tall. Are they available on your website? Thanks🦋🦋
Shirley K it’s the large size 50mm
you can find it on amazon it’s $17 tho! But I think I’m gonna get it too
Why do you always peel away the seed pot before planting - isn't it biodegradable?
Bay-sill or bay-zill? How do you say it?
What am I doing wrong everytime I plant herbs they die?
90 degrees ? is that a warm temperature ? we cook things at 90 degrees lol....

Why is my basil growing so slow? You said that basil was only 4 weeks old mines about 10 weeks old and half the size of those.
