I've been filling the forms in hotels for ages definitely not concerned jet2 we're in the paper concerned about anti tourist scare mongers thanks dave sharing 👍 ❤❤
We always use Lanz Luxury Villas for our accommodation and Autoreisen for car hire, they have been asking for this information ahead of our arrival for a long while now, so no extra hassle at all.
Great information as always they have been doing this for years in Portugal 👍 I've been scammed by Amazon 😮I ordered Hohem iSteady M6 and got incontenant pads delivered 😡😡😡😡😡
Thanks for another great video. I feel more at ease now you’ve explained it in such a succinct way for us. I’m going to make a “Tourist Info Card” and laminate it for future visits to Europe, thanks for the tip.

Thank you for that Mr TravelON. I wasn’t worried about it, but I can see why some people might be with all the scaremongering all the time. What a brilliant idea of yours to print off your details. I’m going to do that 😊
Hi Arriving on 2/1/25 and I have hired a car from autoreisen for 8 weeks yesterday they mailed me their form for all the details you are talking about I filled it in and they say the idea of this is to avoid queues at the hire desk Great idea
I arrived yesterday for another stay at Dreams. The information I provided at check-in, email address, address, mobile number, was info they already had from the initial booking process. Very happy to be back in Playa Blanca, and back at Dreams.

Thanks for the information from a Travel professional who has been in the business and been a rep and lives on the island. Top drawer info. Already rebooked thank you Dave 😊
Thanks for clearing that up, not really much difference, I'm sure I've had to give that information when I've checked in to some hotels in Spain and UK, keep up the good work xx
Dave we arrived on Tuesday in the Gran tigoro firstly we missed you filming outside, secondly we have traveled here for the past 10years and this time we've had the smoothest check in ever so I,l second that there is nothing to worry about
😊Thanks again. Now I know what I need to do on arrival. The news report has been making it sound like it's going a nightmare, so cheers for the straight talking. See you at Christmas.
The issue many people have is not that they need to provide information on arrival at their accommodation, but that they need to provide it in advance via a web site which asks them to either scan their passport or manually provide the passport details and then write a signature into the app. Being somewhat elderly we are having issues with this, in particular it rejects a signature as "too small". So not as simple as you make out!
While the ETIAS for the EU has been delayed for some time, what folks living in the UK may be unaware of is that a UK ETA (UK version of the ETIAS) does in fact start January 7 2025 for those entering the UK from Canada, USA, and about 50 other countries. EU countries will need a UK ETA effective April 2nd 2025 to enter the UK. Cost is 10 pounds and is good for 2 years. ETIAS will be 7 euro and good for 3 years. My upcoming trip to Spain transits through Heathrow so need to get UK ETA for that...... So yes, travel is getting just a bit for complex but nothing to worry about.
Dave done on of the buggy excursions today , 2 different drivers doing the transfers these guys need to stop tailgating seems everyone on the island does it but scary with my daughter in the van
When I first went to Spain in the early 70s they took your passport and kept it till it was almost time to go home and there was one of Spains guards at reception Sorry can't remember what they are called This was when Franco was in charge 😊xx
Awh nps I've been telling my son I'd be watching out for you so I could shout i want your face on my case lol, staying at the sol lanzarote, over to celebrate my 60th birthday on the 19th. have walked up to the big shopping centre in Puerto Del Carmen twice so far, arrived on Friday 2 good days but rain today saying that it's so clammy. Maybe if we get the chance to come back sometime we might run into you.
I am still not coming to Spain due to these regulations. If I booked through a travel agent and I am on an all inclusive, the hotel does not need my credit card details, as I should not have anything to pay. And especially the government does not need to have my credit card details. Or my e-mail or my private telephone number.
How can tourists be completely sure that hotels and particularly private Airbnb’s are going to keep all this sensitive data safe when we keep hearing about large scale data security breaches and furthermore have all hotel staff and Airbnb hosts been fully vetted prior to the introduction of these new authoritarian rules? It would be difficult to find out how safely our sensitive data is being stored particularly with private Airbnb hosts.
You can't but if I wanted to I could find out this information on you simply via social media it really isn't hard. This data is readily available on anyone if the right people want to find it out
I don't think anything has really changed. I pre-book car hire that has all my information on the form. Villas have asked for photocopies of our passports. As you said David it's the mainstream press winding people up. Cheers Rutland's answer to Scrooge, Peter

I have to say, you are typical of the average "brit" whenever it comes to basic knowledge of the UK. At 8m 40s in your video you state," so that would include the "UK and Northern Ireland". Don't you know that Northern Ireland IS PART OF THE UK? That's right, Northern Ireland IS A CONSTITUENT PART OF THE UK (not, as you state, "UK and NORTHERN IRELAND")! So, being from Northern Ireland, in addition to my UK PASSPORT, I also acquired an IRISH PASSPORT - in case you didn't know, IRELAND'S the country SOUTH of the border (and this is my legal entitlement due to the lawful "Good Friday Agreement" of 1998) before going on holiday to Spain. When I landed in Spain, at border check I was granted immediate access (using my IRISH PASSPORT) without further delay, whilst my wife, holding a UK Passport took longer to get through customs due to additional paperwork. My point being, Northern Ireland is a part of the UK. Don't treat us like a separate entity. Education is a wonderful thing!
