GPTN's visit to Sun included many great moments and seeing them put together this new song is right near the top. I believe they started writing it before coming to Sun, but definitely finished it here and then started playing it out fairly consistently on the road since they were here.
Anyone digging the hell out of this knows real quality music!!

One of my favorite videos on youtube. I discovered Grace Potter earlier this summer and she is now one of my favorite artist of all time. I bought the albums and listen to her all the time. The perfect mix of rock and blues along with great and I mean great vocals. So passionate. I really wish I could see her in concert but she isn't coming to Chicago this summer. Hopefully sometime in the future I'll see her.

Well here we are 15 yrs on and Grace has gone through a bunch of evolution, “gracing” all along the way. But she and her homies had some real stuff going on. I remember hearing they were working with TBone Burnett on tracks including this. Shortly after, Grace went into her glam phase which she badassed her way through of course! Wonder if she will ever revisit some of this stuff with her current formation. She is stratospheric now!

I think Grace Potter and her band have that thing I find hard to describe. Rock and soul and grit and funk. I love it.
By the way, some of the comments I see remind me of something I have observed these days. There was a time when you would see some really witty stuff written on bathroom walls. These days it is mindless vapid gangster mind of a 12 year old knuckles dragging the ground pap. I adore music. I adore everything from classical and romantic chamber music to rock from the 60s and 70s to afro-cuban big band to electronic dance music. I love obscure singers like Martin Sexton and pop icons like Elton John. I love local live bands and world famous acts. I LOVE watching good jazz music with a nice glass of scotch. This band is totally forgettable and not the least bit original. I saw them live and they had cool rockstar energy but they are just a cookie-cutter garage band.
Pretty cool guitar Scott is playing, a new Airline perhaps? Most of his guitars were built before he was even born...

I onetime let a musician sing that close to my 44bx and I was on pins and needles, you can stretch the ribbon, or even fracture it being that close, I usually school musicians and show them how close they can get which is about 9", unless you are soft crooning and then you can get closer. Excellent musicianship though. I though still believe in the old way, of miking a session with only about 3 microphones.
Is it me or is the expression in her voice when she says "Sugar" or "Sticky" just tantalizing.. wow.. lol
