      Well done mate! I own a 2011 Subaru Forester and only get the white smoke in the morning for about 50 seconds then it goes away. Some days I don't see the white smoke however, I got a feeling that my valve seals are either loss or needs replacement. What do you think?
      Is it difficult to do it myself at home ? Do I need special tools?

      Problem solved! I replaced all the spark plugs due to a misfire and then used upper engine cleaner to remove the carbon build-up. During this procedure, I discovered that oil was leaking into the spark plug well. Additionally, upon removing the engine tray, I noticed some oil on the passenger side. As a result, I purchased genuine Subaru valve cover gasket sets and replaced both gaskets and spark plug tube seals.
      Hope this helps! 🙂

    I replaced my intake and exhaust valves on my Subaru ej253. Word of advice; if it's your first time order a few extra seals. I hammed them in with a 10mm socket as suggested and you're supposed to stop when the ping noise changes tone as it means your new seal has seated. I over-hammered the first couple of exhaust seals and had to re-use old seals; I think oil is getting into the exhaust manifold as I am having some consumption and on one bank the manifold is starting to look oil-soaked. I'm going to have to pull the head and replace the exhaust seals on the one bank. Many many many hours of work (especially on a Subaru) when if I just had a few extra spare seals during my "learning phase" the extra work could have been prevented.

    As you said oil is sucked through during high vacuum. Can you adjust the PCV valve to stay more open to mitigate the problem in the meantime?

    • @autoinfogroup1629
      @autoinfogroup1629  2 месяца назад

      PCV is spring loaded for most NA engines...so adjusting is not an option... could just bypass the valve but that can cause too much vacuum inside the crank case...which for most cases is not advisable.

    Nice work. Very good information and thanks in advance.
    May I ask, do you think stop leak products can stop oil leak in the valve seals and the head cover gasket? I have minor oil loss in my car's engine. No drip but I see oil stains as if sprayed over the body parts (as if sweat). I use lpg as we all know it wears out the valve seals earlier than petrol or gasoline engines. So what do you think about this?
    I surely know and am aware of it that even if it works, it is a temporary solution. So does it worth using these products? (I can find Liqui Moly which I surely trust the company because I use their oils with pleasure).

  • @leeverink32
    @leeverink32 7 месяцев назад +2

    A black sparkplug tells you your running rich. to mutch oil is brown like a two stroke that burns a fuel oil mixture. Your car does not have to burn mutch oil it can be a small amount because huge oil consumption happens over a longer amount of time not in an instant. Remember oil lubricates and the seals have to be worn over a longer amount of time before oil passes trough in to the cilinders. You could also have sticky oil rings normally they come out due to pressure but carbon can stick them in place over time. Oil gets passed the rings and the car burns oil. Replacing can help but only gives a 20% difference overall. Depending on how mutch you like your car it could cost between 400-6000 or more dollars to solve this problem. ( some engines need both sides done V6 V8 V10 and so on) plus doing it wrong can cost you a new engine.

    Great information but I have a question....
    What happens if oil intrudes at the bottom of the valve stem seal where it sits on the valve guide? Are the valve stem seals also sealed inside or is it just on top?

    • @autoinfogroup1629
      @autoinfogroup1629  2 года назад +2

      Its actually a single point sealing. Both on stem and head. The seal is pushed inside the port just like the transmission axle seal. The stem acts similar to the axle. Oil wont leak pass the seal body. Its the stem part which moves n always cause the wear and leak just like the axle seal.

      Yes Positive crankcase ventilation. Its a valve that passes gases which is leaked from piston rings to crankcase. This gases are fed to intake side so its been inhaled by the engine itself and burned off reducing emissions and keeping crank case pressure optimum.
