The best interview i have heard in years! But Rahim needs to advocate his preaching. He claimed he has to ask questions no matter how delicate they are (i agree with him), but he should also stop acting offended by the answers or reactions he gets. He needs to also take into consideration that as a reporter you must tolerate it, just as those being asked the questions. He is nowhere near Mayweather's camp since floyd refused him an interview, that means he took it personal. He almost overreacted here by raising his voice, by interrupting Virgil..... I love it when there's an argument, but when you preach that people should tolerate the questions, then you should tolerate the answers. Great video.

I dont see why Hunter getting mad over the questions Rahim is asking if theres nothing insulting about them. He should see the questions Angulo is asked by spanish reporters like "are you gonna let yourself lose to keep inflating Canelo" and are you getting paid to lose against Canelo" now those are insulting questions.

I'm a huge Floyd support but I think Virgil is wrong here about the opinion that Rahim was minimizing Moneys victories. He was expressing how the overwhelming opinion IS that an opponent losing to Floyd b/c he's so great doesn't hurt your career or people's opinion of you a fighter as negatively opposed to a fighter losing to anyone else. Ex, you're in a bar and hear a boxer just loss, you find out that boxer lst to Floyd! Their response is usually, "Oh! Well, I mean he was fighting Mayweather, so no sh*t he lost." But conversely, if a fighter lose to anyone else not named Floyd, people start saying the fighter isnt as good as billed of their career is over. What Virgil doesn't want to recognize in answering Rahims patiently and brilliantly asked question(s) is that's what happened to Angulo. And in understanding that unfair perception, what tools does Angulo bring to the table that his detractors miss in-ring that keeps his career very much alive and him worthy of a mega-fight/ppv (while not being a star) coming off a loss. Most fighters don't get Angulo's shot-of-a-lifetime chance coming off a loss if they're not a star unless they are viewed as a stepping stone/confidence fight.

I agree in part with Virgil when people ask questions about perception without including facts. Virgil made a good point about both fighters losing and his fighter performing much better against the opposition. Rahim has been very negative towards Mayweather on occasion. Virgil's point was that Rahim and other should not belittle or take away from Mayweathers victory when the Canelo fight was "perceived" to be 50/50 before the fight. Rahim basically was calling Amir Khan and Angula shiit and he expected Virgil not to address that?

Virgil Hunter is a very intelligent dude, yet once again, I see that he and almost no every other fighter and trainer goes with what the media says concerning Canelo. Canelo is not washed up, and he did not do badly in his fight. I feel like tying everyone to a chair and making them watch a replay of the fight. After it was over, the first thing the commentator did was try to egg Floyd on to remark about how dominant he felt it was. I'll never forget the way he paused, and gave an awkward look before responding respectfully about Canelo. He outboxed a less experienced and underconditioned fighter who had an ineffective gameplan. The fight was a chess match. Even if I don't give a round to Canelo, 85% of the rounds were razor close battles for position, which is worlds better than almost every other person who has faced Floyd. But high art and high chess go over everyone's heads.

However, Hunter does make a good point that Angulo did a much better job vs Lara than Canelo did with Floyd, so on this basis alone. Angulo is a worthy challenger to Canelo. I don't see Mayweather or Canelo wanting to fight Lara at all. Hunter just got too emotional and irrational in defense of his boy. I've never seen Rahim to be a Mayweather hater. Hunter mistook legit questions as personal attacks.

I understand where both men are coming from. I think the reason why Virgil got offended was because based on the questions; it appears as if it's being implied that his fighters are just being used as stepping stones. But at the same time Rahim was just doing his job and asking questions that the fans wanted to know. The part about what happened at the end of that Lara-Angulo fight was wrong because instead of TELLING Virgil about some hearsay; he should have just asked him if that was the case. He made it seem like he knew for a fact that those words came out of Virgil's mouth and I think that's what really got him ticked and it went downhill from there!!!!

To put this interview in perspective -- think outside of your own bias for a moment.
Most everyone knows that in order to get a flashlight to shine a light it needs batteries. Now imagine you want to know more...so you decide to ask an (1) electrician and an (2) electrical engineer to give their perspective on how and why a flashlight works... The (1) electrician would answer one way, and the (2) electrical engineer would give another answer. If you asked the (1) electrician first...well, his answer would change your perspective. When you speak, at a later time, with an (2) electrical engineer, he would tell you the facts (science). Guess what? You would most likely do exactly as Radio Rahim. You would think, based on your previous conversation with the (1) electrician, formulate your questions based on the information (perception + mixed with some facts) given to you by the electrician. Without question the (2) electrical engineer would get a little frustrated by your questioning and remind you his answer was based on facts (science). And, you would get frustrated because you perceive the (2) electrical engineer is not answering your questions.
