I had recently started incorporating these type of drills into my running schedule. I have seen and felt a dramatic positive difference. Would definitely recommend these!
Used to do these drills plus sidestepping, backwards running and something we call "indianhopp" - I don't know any translation for it. It always felt great but it's easy to forget doing them. So thank you for reminding me! And also the straight leg exercise is new to me so I'll be sure to try that out! I think drills are great because they increase the spectrum of movement so I can more effortlessly move in my normal running pattern and save energy
Thanks for the info. I will mention that filming leg movements and cutting the shot off at the knees or the calves really limits how helpful it can be. Wide angles don't look as cool but are much more helpful.
I've been running for quite some time now and seemed to get bored of my slow pace, I can't wait to try these and hopefully I will improve my pace for my upcoming marathon events. Thank you for this wonderful video.
Almost the whole video is cropped so we can't see the feet working (especially which part hits the ground first and does the heel touch at all etc.). Please zoom out a bit when filming so we can see each joint and limb of the athlete, thanks:)
Different person has different body and the efficiency of specific form differ from person to person, these basic drills are just a tool, you have to find your best form, the one that gives you speed, explosiveness and energy efficient.
Thanks James for this great introduction to the concept of drills. I found it very easy to understand the theory behind drills, along with some simple examples to implement in my training. This video will become my go-to resource to point my friends to when they ask me for advice.
2:35 Robocop be like lol! Will definitely try all of this except for the hill one cuz there aren't much hills where I live but as soon as I find one I will try that one too
Great video as I hardly ever do these, so great reminder. Would you incorporate all of these drills in one session? And if so, how many repeats would be beneficial? Or stick to one drill per session and repeat X times and then go out for a run? Thanks!
Have you got a favourite running drill? Or will you give one of these a try? 🤔

I noticed the same thing, it doesn't allow us to see the whole movement!
