    Scored the TK version of the la prima bundle from microcenter, which included the forte wheel, for $450. My first DD and I couldn’t be happier.

      Well done, that's a fantastic deal, a no brainer really if your in the market for a set up, shame nothing like it is available anywhere else in the world, does it show how much we are getting shafted by all the other resellers ?

      Yes , I'm jealous really, would jump all over it if something similar was available in Oz, makes it harder to hand over the extra dollars at normal price though ( oh the curse of being born a tight arse )

    I went with Asetek after seeing all the issues with Fanatec and so far I am happy with that decision. I have contacted support twice and got responses/solutions within 48 hours. I ordered upgrade parts for the La Prima pedals and one of the new button box - steering wheel combos and got them quickly, no issues. I agree with your comments on the pedals. My rig only lets me set the pedal plate flat but once I did that and drove a few hours they no longer felt odd. I think these pedals due to the limited adjustability of angle will be a sore spot for some but so far I have adjusted to mine and now I like them. The concept of buying in at the least expensive model and being able to upgrade if you choose to as you grow in the sport is definitely a big plus for me.

    Great review!
    I ended up going for a hybrid setup instead of doing this bundle. I do a lot of rally, so I ordered a round wheel and Forte button box with a La Prima base. I'm super excited for it to get here!
    For now, I'll be using my Logitech g923 pedals as standalone pedals until I can budget in Forte pedals & Invicta clutch later.

      Ordered the same, for the same reason. 95% Rally i have no need for a Formular wheel. Ordered just yesterday, so im waiting for it to arrive next week. Did you got yours and how is it? I have the simjack pedals for some time, so i wont get new ones for a while, very happy with them.

      @@themadnes5413 I got mine yesterday! Only took about 4.5 business days.
      It's great, but it's gonna take getting used to lol. It's not even on the same planet in comparison to the ole G923. Still working on dialing in settings/bindings and getting used to the power. It's a handful in rally if everything is left on default 😂 I love having a ton of bindable buttons, and being able to label the LEDs is nice.

      @@themadnes5413 So far it's fantastic! I got my settings tuned for Dirt Rally/EA Sports WRC (tip: turn self-aligning torque down) and ACC (I like GT3 racing too).
      By the way - how do you like the SimJack pedals? This wheel is highlighting how weak the G923 pedals are, but I just dropped a grand and the thought of me spending another $700+ on the Asetek pedals/clutch is making my wife give me looks...

      @@LucasHadley The SimJack Pedals are great, if you are ready to do a few tweaks. Can't see my self upgrading them to anytying under 1000€. I paid 170€(pedals) + ~50€ (mods).
      For the Price there are no better pedals.
      A friend has the heusinkveld sprints, i think mine feel a bit better after modding them.
      Thank you for the suggestion :) Ill tinker with it, as soon as i get it and keep it in mind.

    I use Invicta pedals and am super happy with them. However, it has been crazy how much negative comments I have seen at the very beginning when they joined the market. Felt a bit of "gatekeeping" of the community because hey, they do the computer cooling. I think Asetek showed how committed to the simracing they truly are making very fast adjustments to their products by listening to the community (for instance introducing Invicta pedals which are separately mounted or bringing a stiffer throttle springs). In their wheelbase they use Siumcube IP and generally seems as a producer who wants to offer good stuff in both high end as well as mid range. I wish them well

    I've had the La Prima bundle for 8 months now and couldn't be happier.
    Regarding Asetek's customer service - They are simply awesome! I have had two small issues. A button on my wheel came loose due to a tiny screw loosening and one of the elastomers from their elastomer kit I purchased felt a little funny. All that I had to do was inform Asetek's CS team via their website and in both cases they not only responded the same day, they overnighted me an entire new elastomer kit and did the same with a brand new set of replacement buttons.

      Her Danny, Do you have a good setup guide for the La Prima Wheelbase/Pedals, for iracing? I would greatly appreciate it and I am sure that I would not be the only one as Asetek has not published a fresh "recommended wheelbase settings" for iracing in ages (they recently published a new settings guide for ACC but nothing for iracing)? I'm one of the people that found out the hard way about the pedal mounting😂, with my Forte's, but I got used to it overtime as you don't move the brake backwards when braking anyway, it feels natural and better than moving the pedal all the way backwards

    I bought the invicta wheel base and pedals, and it's my 1st rig and it was installed on the Trak Racer TR160 cockpit. Asetek kit is solid and quality built, no fans and the wheel base doesn't get hot at all. I learned pretty fast you need to be real careful with setting it to 27nm and 100% gain in ACC(gave my hand a nice damn wack when i hit a wall, opps lol) Now it's set to 20nm and around 30% gain in ACC and you can feel everything. The only downside i can tell so far is the limited game support for Asetek line up but I'm sure that will change over time.

      @@dannyleeracing From what I've gathered from other "simfluencers" and even a couple of people on Simucube's own forum is that the FFB is faster and more direct in feeling, although this really only applies to the Invicta model.
      There's also the other quality of life features such as power and data directly to the wheel, and the direct USB connection for wired wheels.
      That said I have a number of Simucube Wireless wheels which would cost a lot to replace, so it's still really only at a thinking stage for me.

    Hi Danny. I stumbled across your channel when I was looking at the PSR3 rig. I was going to go down the Moza route as it seems to have a decent price to performance ratio (and I don’t trust Fanatec). Is something like this significantly better?

    • @dannyleeracing
      @dannyleeracing  10 месяцев назад +2

      Moza is slightly better in terms of outright price, but personally, now that the honeymoon period has passed with Moza and their customer support has shown to be a bit lukewarm (Fanatec's is in the gutter right now but I'm seeing a fair share of Moza complaints pop up, too) I would trust my money a lot more with Asetek than Moza at this time. That, too, could be just a honeymoon period, but that doesn't mean it isn't good while you're in it!

      My biggest suggestion on saving money: Buy a real used Car Seat, it will be most likely better then anything you could get under 700-800bucks. I paid 50€ and it is as sturdy as it gets with so many adjustments, it is crazy.

    Nice video! How does the slew rate compare to the R12 and the CS DD? And which of the three is your favourite? I'm gonna save up for the Prima, upgrade from a CSL Elite.

    • @dannyleeracing
      @dannyleeracing  10 месяцев назад

      The R12 doesn't advertise their slew rate, the CSDD doesn't appear to explicitly note theirs. The La Prima's is 4nm/ms. However, the 'hand feel' vote personally goes to the La Prima first due to the absolutely cleanliness of the wheel rotation, followed by the CS DD, then Moza a little after that. Right now the La Prima is, to me, top of the three, as the Clubsport DD still seems to be a little undercooked and needs an update or two to bring Fullforce online (Boosted Media mentions a firmware update is coming)

      In which case then whilst it'll accept the wheelbase (you might have to reduce power if it's unstable) then I think you'll have trouble with the pedals because of the steep angle of attack you'd have to deal with, especially if you're using an office chair. The pedals are made with high end cockpits in mind so they're not very forgiving of anything but the best - even the PSR3 I have now, which would be considered pretty serious, was challenged by it. If you're staying with the Apex then I do believe you'll be happier with a Fanatec CSL DD and CSL Elite V2 pedals, if you're worried about delivery times then you can get Fanatec stuff from Sim Demon in the UK (details in my description, 3% code there, too)

  • @farcydebop
    @farcydebop 10 месяцев назад

    I have the Asetek pedals and they are totally unusable on my rig due to their perpendicular angle. I've tried to set them to the limit, even going for smaller screw, but you see it is a deliberate design to prevent you to have it more flexible, as just a different size for the nuts and other minor movable hardware, would have been enough.
    It's like they are saying you don't deserve their product, if you are not willing to spend money on new cockpit, shoes, chair, etc...
    Not welcoming and friendly at all, and rather pretentious.

    • @dannyleeracing
      @dannyleeracing  10 месяцев назад

      That's the exact angle (no pun intended) I considered when I dedicated a slice of the review to that problem. I agree with the intent, but I'm sure they could have had it both ways and catered to low-adjustability cockpits whilst preserving the high-end intent. Wouldn't take much to create a wedge/block adaptor to angle the pedal faces
