This is a completely new technology. We're going to see very exciting competition moments from many perspectives. This and other new technologies at this Olympics will help may sports advance by leaps and bounds.
Just noticed that cheesy smile Kimani cracks at the beginning of the video at 0:12. Could watch this for hours (b^.^)b absolutely relaxing and graceful.
Few things make me happier than CLEAN ICE! 🥰 In my younger days, playing hockey, I was always fascinated by how different ice could be rink to rink. The Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs always had the BEST ice.
Honestly just go for it. I have asthma but I just take my medication before skating and it is mostly fine. If you can do any other sport, you can do speed skating (trust me, i've done it my whole life). Good luck!
From 0:28 onwards you can see the two skaters almost in complete sync with their steps/legs etc. Is this something that becomes natural or is it deliberate training? Do you know what I mean??
It comes with training because in training you will always go behind each other so you will experience many different paces and then someday it just becomes natural
It's a matter of mirroring the guy in front of you, because for one it's easier to stay behind someone due to less air friction and doing the same rhythm maximises that, and for two in training it's beneficial to copy the movement in front of you to train on different techniques and train your coördination
No camera man. Along with the officials, you can watch the competition from different perspectives, 360º or audience's view. You can also pause and change the view.
It's an indoor track, they can regulate the pressure and the humidity in the air and there's no wind so there's nothing that can interfere with the ice preparation
There is no camera man. It's all high tech. You can watch the competition from 360º perspectives including the audience view. You, along with games officials, can pause to watch it from different angles. I think this should cut down judging controversies.
Hi there, I'm interested in licensing this video content for an upcoming Olympics campaign. Please let me know if you're interested and we can connect via email to discuss next steps. Thanks, Alyssa
I think you're going to see lots of such views of different sports and from other perspectives as they happens at actual competitions. There will very exciting moments to feel and to study.
Hi. I'm working on behalf on Team GB on their social media accounts. Would it be possible to have permission to use this clip please for an upcoming project we are working on? We have plans where our Winter Olympians will be watching the clips and reacting to them in a series of videos and we think this video would be perfect! Thank you.
I wish winter Olympic broadcasting try this way of camera view
Problem with that is that there would be a drag created that would effect the speed of the scaters significantly

i love the sound of the skates hitting the ice
The clap sounds are so clear!! I love it!! Thank you for upload this video
the butt cheeks clapped ?
Wow, What a perspective
There are many more.
I watched this while doing leg stretch, which is my loutine before go to bed. It almost makes me feel like i'm doing something great job.
Wow, I feel the power of the skater. Exciting.
One of the reasons why running on the track there is awesome... great view of world class skaters from all over
Quite simply the coolest Olympic sport related video I’ve seen on RUclips in a really long time.
There will so many more at real competitions!
Wow great perspective! You can really feel the speed!
Pro trick: you can watch series at Flixzone. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies lately.
@Ruben Vivaan yea, been using flixzone} for months myself :D
I really miss the sport sad I don't have the time anymore
Just noticed that cheesy smile Kimani cracks at the beginning of the video at 0:12. Could watch this for hours (b^.^)b absolutely relaxing and graceful.
Thought you said just noticed that cheesy kimani cracks at the back
Because the camera man makes everyone laugh!
I would make a "how nice of the cameraman to run behind the athlete" joke, but he actually did
Watcu lookin at??? What colour was the walls

Now I want to switch from short track to long track. That video is illegally good
Whoa looks SO much faster from this pov
Two of my favorite skaters :) STILL cannot believe how tall Kimani has gotten!

Oh my god yes, the feel on clean vs “used” ice is so different
Wish my other version in another universe grows up in a country that has this sport...😊
trul olympic level pushing, felt the power and passion!
like that sound! it makes me wanna watch again
This reminds me of that old game MDK on PS 1
absolutely COOL!!!! I've always wanted to speed skate... I've got the legs but asthma is bad :) this was an awesome video of FP
Honestly just go for it. I have asthma but I just take my medication before skating and it is mostly fine. If you can do any other sport, you can do speed skating (trust me, i've done it my whole life). Good luck!
Athletes with asthma tend to do better in winter olympics: www.popsci.com/winter-olympics-asthma
Brian G Chris Froome has asthma!
It does not even look like ice and sounds like glass!!!!
Poetry in motion
If this gets a lot of views and likes, it's guaranteed there will be a speed skating mission in the next Call of Duty.
I was right, all skaters view's are 50% butt.
so lucky
Skaters' butts are great power generators!
From my experience it can go from 60% to 100%
From 0:28 onwards you can see the two skaters almost in complete sync with their steps/legs etc. Is this something that becomes natural or is it deliberate training? Do you know what I mean??
I think trainings!
Imagine walking behind someone and following their steps
It comes with training because in training you will always go behind each other so you will experience many different paces and then someday it just becomes natural
And in this corner there is just always 1 optimal route and that is what they take natural
It's a matter of mirroring the guy in front of you, because for one it's easier to stay behind someone due to less air friction and doing the same rhythm maximises that, and for two in training it's beneficial to copy the movement in front of you to train on different techniques and train your coördination
this is so fun and amazing to watch
just interested in speed skating recently, somehow, looks like the guys using high heels. hahahaha
Bruh imagine the cameraman
No camera man. Along with the officials, you can watch the competition from different perspectives, 360º or audience's view. You can also pause and change the view.
The Cameraman is a 5 time Olympian, and kinda fast himself…. One of the greatest US skaters to never medal…
Frozone be like
😂😂😂😂😂
Is this even ice how is so clear
It's an indoor track, they can regulate the pressure and the humidity in the air and there's no wind so there's nothing that can interfere with the ice preparation
Making it the second fastest track in the world, located in Calgary
watch with Adagio For Strings on in the background will not disappoint
Wow! They're doing around 35 - 36 mph!
Way faster

what if someone farts?
they get a boost of speed

an average of 57KPH, not bad.
Their skating is the same way Naruto runs.
No idea if anyone is interested but a friend has opened up an ice rink charging just 10p a go.

Cheap Skate.
woooooooooooooow just wooow
Hear me out..
lmaoo
dont fart
오와 진심 멋있다
couldn't they have given the lead guy the camera?
Stupid sexy skater... "Feels like I'm wearing nothing at all... nothing at all... nothing at all..."
A camera from the lead would just look like a flying camera, this is way more interesting IMO.
Here you go... I feel it doesn't show the lean and real speed that we had from the video above.

Вы верно подметили зрелищность, этого клипа. У конькобежца в черном , очень хорошая техника прохождения поворота. Не часто такой поворот встречается.
