We just did Dutch john at night last night. Stopped and assised a dodge truck that had a ball joint fail. We did it backwards. Got back into camp at 130 in the morning. Left and hit the trail at 9 pm. Couldnt leabe another driver stranded.
Great video and thabk you for the details of sections of Dutch John. I am planning a trip to N.C with my rig and Uwharrie is a bucketlist to drive and enjoy. I am trying to see which trails off some challenge but not extremely difficult either.
Very nicely done. Quick question - do you think my Maverick FX4 stock can go over the mud humps safely?? And I only plan on doing moderate trails. Any suggestions??
Do you think this is a trail you would need lockers for? I have a lifted Nissan frontier with bigger off-road tires on it. It’s a 4x4, but doesn’t have lockers. Also, do you recommend any other trails that are easy enough for me to take my truck on? Great video btw!
Great video! New sub here. Do you think a rwd truck with AT tires would be able to complete some trails around here? Just starting to get into some light offroading.
Getting close to that 1,000 subscribers!! Awesome place to review thanks for taking me on the journey with you!! Keep on and #sharethepositive always!! :))
being at uwharrie just has a whole different feel. the unity of everyone, and willingness to help out if things go wrong, is one of my favorite parts. just going up there and forgetting all the bad in the world is the best.
I went back in October and spent the whole day there, the trails vary in difficulty a lot. Some are dirt roads and then some are pretty extreme. Dutch John can be difficult when wet. But Dickey Bell and Daniel could not be done in in my stock Rubicon. You need a 2' lift minimum w/ 35s.
Well we did the back side of Daniel and dickeybell gladiator Rubicon stock 33s and 2"lift did not touch anything. Jeep Jamboree i think every year does trail maintenance. We'll post the videos for those trails too. Thanks
Nice video my dude! That spot that is now filled in is what I had asked about on your old video earlier this summer! When I went in August the trail was basically flat and I didnt know if I missed the washout sections where that CJ5 kept breaking down. Nice video!
Looks like a blast! Will you be able to do this all winter in NC? I'm assuming not much snow, perhaps just some rain to muck things up nicely? Thanks for sharing!
The NC uwharrie we do on thanksgiving every year. This year we did 1 week in Charlotte NC (Carowinds) and then just short of a week in the National Forest for the Jeep/Thanksgiving. Our winter trip is florida.
The trails are 2 way with plenty of places to pull off to not only pass but camp. As far as direction it all depends on wether you want to go primarily up hill or down hill. I like to hit every trail both ways as it does change the difficulty. The only exception is the 2 hardest trails, Daniel and Dickey bell. Those trails have the Difficult rocky hill climbs. And it’s not recommended to go down unless you know what you are doing.
To each their own. We had a Wrangler on 40s before this. I actually think your going to see more gladiators as time goes by, i see lots of comments from people considering trading their wranglers in for gladiators like us.

Curious: could a factory Grand Cherokee 4xe Trailhawk do well in Uwharrie? Even for a beginner off-roader?
I believe i remember seeing your jeep. I was there all this past weekend, white solid axle swapped s10 blazer on 1 tons and 39.5" boggers

Nice ride...Liked and Sub, cheers dave
Thanks! It's always cool to see all the different rides and perspectives people have. bikes, jeeps, cars, hiking, boats.
Nice jeep run. Love seeing Grace is having fun :) Happy Thanksgiving
She loves going in the jeep, however she does not have any cats to chase in the jeep. lol

Are there any trails that are good and doable for a beginner?
Nice video. When you say you have armor, did you get something aftermarket? Or just the rubicon skids?

Yeh i remember thats why i put the pic up for ya. It looked like alot of spots had been sorta nerfed up some. thanks!
Love the Jeep! New Sub here... Looks challenging to navigate in some parts.

Do you think my 2021 Honda Ridgeline could make it?
From someone who lives there...um no
Are these trails directional? Seems a little sketchy with both of you guys going toward each other

Just saw you on the road. Man those Jeep gladiators are hideous... Yuck
