You know this the reason non - cubers think you must be genius to solve a cube. This is what they think we do for 3x3
You kinda do have to be a genius to solve a cube without a tutorial
@@spxrrxw Not once you have the algs memorized.
@@schmaffew2343 You cant learn the algs if you dont wach tutorial (or you are a genius)
3x3 is definitely harder than the polaris cube, for it you just solve a skewb (which is easy) and then just put in the extra pieces just intuitively, for 3x3, you need to memorize algs
@@hattu2374 I learned them off a sheet of paper...
This polaris cube feels like a "4x4 skweb" if that makes sense. You did it backwards, but it was a similar idea to trying to solve a 4x4 by reduction to a 3x3. Surprised you haven't hit a parity case - if those even exist
true
When he was solving the edges that's exactly what I was thinking about. It has the exact same idea as solving a 4x4.
how would parity even work
I’ve had one for a few years now and I’m pretty sure there is no possible parity. Because the corners can turn independently it removes a lot of the skewb limitations and adds a lot of degrees of freedom.
@@MXY... By having the dges of only one corner swapped i guess
Having other cube knowledge certainly helps with new puzzles! Well done! I may not have thought of the skewb...
So many likes dude!!!

@Westy Yaaaaaaaa
Hey J Perm! You’ve pretty much changed my life through your RUclips channel and your videos, I had NO hobbies before cubing and when I found a Rubik’s cube and your channel, it completely changed my life. You got me to averaging sub-12 in about one year. Thank you! (And also, at what speed would you recommend starting cross +1?)
I have almost the same story as you except, I got into cubing a bit earlier than watching his videos.
You're sub-12 and still don't know cross+1???
@@sicapanjesis3987 Yeah. I just haven’t gotten around to learning it yet.
@@JudeStradtner why tho? You definitely know it'll improve your time a lot
@@sicapanjesis3987 Yeah. I honestly don’t know why I haven’t learned it yet. I’m gonna start in the next few days tho.
This is definitely the best of the Attempting to solve with no help series. You are an absolute genius to be able to solve that monstrosity.
This is basically a skewb but you can corner twist.
Lol id say its an easy skewb
this has been the most interesting of your "attempting to solve with no help" series. Now that you are above 1 million subs, I hope there is more of this type of content. #JPERMILLION

The polaris cube is fun, I remember a friend lent one to me. I would solve all the little edges and then realize I messed up the skewb part somewhere, so then I would have to do it all over again. Still a fun cube
if you want a hard puzzle try the puppet cube 1, you’ll definitely enjoy it
*spends 50 hours and cant get anywhere close to solving*
Two questions: what is the fastest official or unofficial time that you have seen IN PERSON? And what is the weirdest thing you’ve ever seen at a cubing competition?
he anwsered the second question in a qna. he said that 1 person needed to do 1 solve and right before he wanted to solve the fire alarm went off. then they watched 1 person do 1 solve and the coppotition ended and everybody went homr
@@aosksnneen Yeah. That might have changed though.
@@JudeStradtner no it wont have changed due to lack of physical comps
@@thespeedcubingstudio2537 I don’t know what you mean, there are lots of comps in the USA right now. I don’t know about in Canada.
@@thespeedcubingstudio2537 There’s definitely not a lack of comps. There are 7 upcoming comps in Canada.
Fun fact: you are the one who made me a cuber
Thank you for helping me solve my own cube.
Your my fav youtuber ever
Oh my lord that’s a lot of likes
Me too
yay les gooo people are like me
Pairing the edges with the corners on this cube makes me think of the reduction method on big cubes when pairing up edges.
I’m a non-cuber but I love watching your videos it has taught me a lot like how to lose loosen and tighten and take apart the one Rubik’s cube that I have
ruclips.net/video/7Ron6MN45LY/видео.html Learning to solve the cube is the most important part, if you get good at it you could be more invested in these videos and want to learn more, I recommend it.
seems like if you know how to solve skewb and do commutators, you can solve this cube, cool!
I remember I got this for teacher appreciation day a couple of years ago. I knew nothing about it when my student handed it to me. But I already was pretty good at skewb. It ended up taking me about an hour an a half to solve it first time. Fastest puzzle I’ve ever figured out how to solve all on my own. I couldn’t put it down and actually ended up solving it in the middle of a meeting with a parent.
How did the parent react
@@ayubfauzaan4554 Her son was autistic and she was a very compassionate and patient person, so while I'm sure she was a little annoyed at first, I think she understood that I absolutely had to keep working on it. And I wasn't the one leading the meeting anyway.
You should try to solve a ghost cube, they look like they're made of stuff from the 4th dimension
I have developed this weird habit to just solve my cube while watching u do it in ur video. Im am approaching 15 sec now and u have been my number 1 motivation and trainer, thank u so much.
Keep up the amazing content

Did you watch his advanced method? Because I just learned the beginner method but I want to solve it faster

i did watch a few of them(not all of them). But my tip for u is: Learn the CFOP, a few extra handy F2L cases, and a LOT of practise.
If u need more information, feel free to ask me :)

Love this content, it inspires me to want to try one of these “solve the puzzle w/ no help” myself, but I’d have to pick you that you haven’t done hahaha
The strategy that you applied of solving the corners and then centres and edges is actually really smart
Thanks Jperm for this tutorial
Keep making these i love them!

YES!!! These are my favourite videos. I literally got so excited when I saw this notification. Honestly bro, I cannot thank you enough for bringing me so much joy. I have been waiting for another vid like this love your videos
This is an awsome vid. Love it man.
I love seeing your videos on learning to solve different Rubik’s cubes! They are super entertaining!
Your videos are getting too interesting now, its been a long journey, I remember when you used to do challenges that seemed hard but now looking back at them, they look very easy.
Also it is crazy to imagine that you are growing so fast you got 1M in not time.
Dang, time flies by fast.
Yes, yes it does..
Love your life, cuz it flies by fast
I love your channel keep up the good work!😊
Right when you uploaded this video, I instantly went to Amazon to get a Polaris cube for myself to try it out for myself first. After getting the puzzle tonight and trying it out, I want to thank you for finding my new favorite skewb mod!
You have to corner twist it to solve it. *Cubers: *confused screaming.
you don't have to worry about spoilers, J perm. You are so good at what you do, I think every cuber has already watched all of your videos.
As someone who also figured this puzzle out by themselves, I was so glad that you switched strategies.

Hello sir,
I have a question for you
As you have taught us earlier that using the EG method, we can 1-look a solve in a 2x2 cube
So is it possible that after calculating the solution, a 2x2 cube can be solved blindfolded using the EG method instead of the regular blindfolded method?
I'll look forward for your answer.

wow jperm great job!!!
I recently got a Polaris Cube myself (and solved it shortly afterwards), so now I can watch this video!
If you take apart a skewb, you'll notice that the core is attached to 4 of the corners, and with a little bit of thought, it's easy to see why - if you 4 corners such that no two corners share an edge, then whenever you make a turn of the skewb, one corner will be on one half (with that half rotating around it), and the other three corners will stay still on the other half.
With the Polaris Cube, the same thing is true for its corners, except those little edge pieces can be moved between those corners - but if you pay attention, you can see that the edges will always stay within one set of four corners, meaning you've got two completely separate sets of edges that you can solve independently - so it's no wonder that when you solved three corners out of one set, you accidentally solved the fourth (there were only three options for how that fourth corner could be, and you also dealt with one of the other options - the three-cycle).
After some years I finally got back to solving the DianSheng Shield, and it's power to enrage me is intact. That's the reason I would love seeing you solve it in this series.
I just got this as a gift yesterday, but I didn't know the name of the cube. I searched for "star cube puzzle" and your video showed up to me. I saved it to watch later. Now, after about three hours attempting to solve the cube, I finally solved it. Solving this cube with no help was something very satisfying, and I recommend it to pretty much any speedcuber: get a random weird puzzle and solve it yourself - it's a hell of an experience. Detail: I've never solved a skewb in my life, so that meant I had to figure it out too, which made it even harder.
Just a random viewer here.
I'm also not a full extent cuber, but ngl, watching this video is pretty entertaining. Love the commentary, explanation and the overall outcome of the video. Very well done 😌
I just learned the puppet Cube and I still terrified of this puzzle
