@@geyotepilkington2892 its a documentary dumbass. I dont think you understand what classifies as a doco. fishing shows are shows that are sponsored by fishing rod companies telling you where to fish and where to catch where, and what rods to use. This show is more concerned about the fish than actual fishing. Its a documentary about fish or are you still confused?

What the....rare?! Barramundi are not rare and they have NOT been affected by cane toads. I live in Australia and north of Brisbane QLD around the top of Australia and down the coast of Western Australia (so the whole top half of Australia, they're a tropical fish) you can catch them in nearly every waterway and the coastline. We have Barramundi fishing tournaments. This is the most ridiculously made up story I have ever seen, don't believe anything said in this video, it's all sensationalised rubbish.

Goldfish, one of the worst feral invasive fish, is from Asia. Camels are from Afghanistan originally. The Water Buffalo are Asian. Rigging a live bait for barramundi or cod or jacks is usually just hook it under the dorsal fin or through the nose. These fish aren't looking for "presentation" or finesse. They're out to murder anything that fits in their mouth. The hook placement is simply about being able to keep the bait alive for a while and keep it easy to cast. Anything else is a waste of time and effort. This isn't marlin or other billfish we're talking about.
