Hi Stewart. Awesome video. Quick question. How can I add a customized signup form to collect emails to my other pages such as my home page on my site? Thanks
You can create popup forms inside MailChimp and the take the code and embed on any page of your website.
Thank you so much Swewart for this video! One question only! Can I follow the same process although I still have my site created in a local environment? I prefer do this if possible, before buy a domain and upload the site to a server. thank you!
I don't see why not!
Hi Stewart, I just used this tutorial and managed to put the Mailchimp subscribe button on my word press blog (right hand side and footer) and I can manually add it via the shortcode to each subsequent blog. Thanks very much.
Hey Andrew,
Thanks for letting me know. I'm glad you managed to do this!
I'm not sure if my Wordpress Theme (set up with Elementor) doesn't allow for a right side column,,... but I was only able to put it after my written content.. do you have a video on how to add the right side column with Elementor?
thanks a million! @@StewartGauld
Today I tried worked thanks alot .do u have follow up video of those mail subscribes
We have many MailChimp tutorials.
Hi! Can you do a video about how to anonymize IP addresses to be compliant with GDPR? Also, can you deliver a lead magnet or a freebie with mailchimp free version? Thanks! I love your videos!
I will look into this.
Yes you sure can!
Thank you for video i have a question. If i want to move sign up button next to the placeholder, what should i do?
You will have to play around with the code to do this.
Hi, loved this video. It was super helpful. Can this be done if you have the free version of wordpress? I'm stuck at this step as WordPress keeps directing me to upgrade before adding Mailchimp as a plugin.
Are you sure? I'll have to look into this.
Yes, it keeps redirecting me to update to the creator monthly plan with word press or it allows me to download it for a self-hosted installation@@StewartGauld
1How to find the API key was very useful. I want to send a WP post via MailChimp and not a form so I'll keep looking. Thanks for your video. Well done
Welcome!
Hi thank you soo much for this video however I will love to add the subscribe button to my social media pages like Facebook or RUclips how do I do it please ?
Hey!
You can create a form and link on your pages.
this is great thanks, but I'm not seeing the "Sign Up" button on my form? How do I add this?
Welcome! Are you sure?
is the email i sing up with to mailchimp the same email that is gonna send out the newsletters? is it possible to change it into another?
Hey,
You can change this when creating your email. As long as your verify the email.
Thank you! Quick question : is there a way to remove my PHYSICAL ADDRESS that was required for my MailChimp account from public view once someone signs up? Also, my human verification form required 3 of those "click the boxes where you see this or that" and I'm hoping there's a way to simplify/eliminate that for people who won't have the patience to do all that... any help would be greatly appreciated!
Welcome! Unfortunately you will need these details for compliance.
I too was worried about the address part ... I managed to remove my street address but the rest is required.
My question is is there anyway for you to re group all those who subscribed via website? You can see them in the APi as tagged but If I wanna send that specific group into an email sequence how to do that?
Hey!
Yes you can. You can add tags and create a specific group/segment from that.
@@StewartGauld Thanks
What should i do when i want to send newsletters to specific people or a whole contact list?
We have email campaign tutorials on this that can help you.
Hi bud...Ive watched this time and time again, and I seem to have all the settings as yours by my website subscribers just will not appear in my mail chimp contacts...I get email notifications of new subscribers...but I have ti manually import them into mailchimp..any clues?
That is odd. They should be added. Are you sure?
@@StewartGauld Pretty sure...I thought it may take some time to update so I went back and checked, still not there, Ill do some screen record or shots tonight, Im keen to resolve it ;-)
@@StewartGauld This is sending me mad...are you able to help at all ?
6:12 - On the Website I am working they have previously used another form for Newsletter. The thing is that I have completed all the steps until here but the old newsletter form is still here. How can I remove it and completely swap it with MailChimp's newsletter? I have deactivated the old Plugin but.....
Hey mate,
What was the old for built with? And what was the plugin?
@@StewartGauld I have contacted the provider. They told me zero to nothing on that...The old one was just newsletter form
The plugin name was the same
I went through the tutorial and got the form completed but when I tested it there was no confirmation email and no record of subscription in MailChimp. I had the same problem using WP forms so there is a problem with Mailchimp connecting to my website - any ideas on how to resolve this?
That is odd! I'll have to look into that!
Hi Stewart. I just followed the tutorial and when I went to test the form it gave me an error message... "Oops. Something went wrong. Try again later." Any thoughts?
I will have to look into this.
@Stewart Gauld it's ok. We figured it out. If I remember correctly it was an issue with the merge tags. "Last name" was marked as a required one in the list of optional tags, but I didn't actually have it in my form. Once I added it to the form it worked.
Can we do a payment form instead?
Hey Mich,
What do you mean?
Cool, but I don't understand why not a single video I've watched talks about how to add an subscribe window to a footer. It's completely bizarre!
I will look into this for you Mark.
@@StewartGauld Much appreciated.
How do we customize the form
You can use CCS.
How can I translate my pop up to two other language than English?
I do not think this is possible with this integration.
I followed this tutorial step by step, and the form shows up on my site. I even get a confirmation message when I sign up on the form on my site. But a new subscriber never shows up in my Mailchimp contact list. What did I do wrong?
Hey mate! Are you sure?
i have the same problem, did u ever get it resolved?
This took me so far and then stopped when you could only add to posts instead of pages. 😭 I just need to know how to add to my home page! I have spent way too many hours on this!
You can do it!
How do we style it
It is limited. However, if you have CSS experience you can further customize the form.
Isn't Mailchimp pretty much out of date now?
What do you use mate?
@@StewartGauld To be honest I only do bulk emails but business colleagues have been using newer, better options and told me Mailchimp is obsolete. No first hand knowledge.
