A MailChimp pop up on WordPress sites a great way to get more subscribers on your MailChimp list, but you need to have the right one installed and set up properly. Hello i tried to add download button in the pop itself as the success response. I tried to do in the way you did. After publishing it, when i added mail. The download button is showing up but after clicking it , that doesnt download any file.

Same. I think this is an old video so things have changed for MailChimp as mine didn't look the same when I was trying to create an automated email. it didn't say 'Welcome new subscribers' either. Instead it says 'Welcome new contacts' and it's telling me to upgrade. Let me know if you have found a way around it.
Hi Colleen, I haven't checked this process in MailChimp for a while. I'll look into it to see if there is a work around in MailChimp. If there is a work around in MailChimp, then we could probably create a popup in WordPress using a free plugin like Popup Maker and paste the MailChimp optin form code into a popup made with that plugin.
The Insert Header and Fotter plugin you showed has changed its name to WPCode. I tried to paste the code in the header section and MailChimp says it cant find it on website. please help on what i can do now.
The "create" email section has a lot of pre-sets. Three choices- regular, plain text, template; not seeing an option to create as shown in the video. Bummer :/. I did go into settings and select "Classic Builder", but it did not matter.
I have just tried the same and I think automated emails is now no longer an option in free Mailchimp accounts, you need to pay to 'build a journey'
although actually, under campaigns I have just found automation and looks like a way to do it for free accounts

Once you did the plug in under settings it came up with insert headers and footers but that didn't show up under settings on mine. Any reason why?

I have aproblem with the popup on a mobile the position is too high so i am unable to see the top or close down on mobile. On desktop everything is workingh fine.
I'll have to take a close look at the new popup settings. If all else fails, you should be able to add CSS to your website's stylesheet to adjust the spacing at the top (probably margin) or the max height of the popup. Do you have experience with CSS?
@@wplearninglab Sorry I'm a complete amateur. I had to copy some CSS code into the header to get the popup to work but I don't have the ability to write my own without a lot of guidance. Thanks for your help
Added the pop up info no problem, but mail chimp is telling me my WP account has to be a business plan @ $25 per month or it won't connect the pop up to my site. I did pay for my WP account through a website host. Do I need to contact my website host?
But in my case if I add the code in the header section using plugin then my website isn't connected. I don't know why how to fix it.
That plug in is no longer available. Any other recommendations?

Once you have the link to that file you can add it to your emails in MailChimp.

well, all this work for nothing. Seems like mailchimp COMPLETELY removed automation in the free version which... pretty much makes it useless. :(
