to anyone struggling on the 4th phase, here's a few tips that might be helpful : - upgrade your gear if you haven't! that final upgrade is going to help defeat the octolings trust - i would advise on not collecting the canned specials unless you're really confident at a certain one (like if you're an inkjet main or something) because most of them restrict you in some capacity - splashdown should be the most useful since it's a one and done special : it's short + it's powerful + it refills your ink Ex: (ultra stamp : you lose the ability to shoot and strafe at the same time ; spiderman : you lose your sub weapon ; trizooka : you have to use all of your shots before you can use your main weapon again) - this is where i feel like fully upgrading your gear is gonna be very helpful because the last perk of your gear makes your smallfry op as fuck - when you're getting bombarded, throw your smallfry in the general vicinity of some octolings - if it doesn't hit anyone, it acts as a taunt which distracts the octolings! so now theyre focused on killing your smallfry and not you! - if it does hit anyone, it's a one-hit KO so you just got rid of one problem (which is REALLY good for the last phase when the octolings can use specials) - ink an area and heal up! (if your gear is broken, be careful for any bombs or stray ink shots!) - then when you're ready, go back to fighting - and if you're near a landpoint of an octoling, throw a bomb to deal with them! less problems = more happiness reminder that these are just tips! if you found another way to beat the final round of the level, nice!
You don't actually need to use the specials to make the next one spawn, you just need to collect them. You can use this knowledge to just skip specials you don't think will help you, like the first trizooka for me.
Also if you need to run away toss a curling bomb! The trail is super useful especially if you have the ninja squid skill so you can hide away and collect yourself. Saved my neck many times as when they started using specials

Honestly considering I 100% forgot about the squid charge and roll it made the first section of After Alterna confusing, but it's mostly hard because of how long it is. Though the battle with the Octolings took me awhile. I ended up leaving the game on, but turning my system off for the night because I was getting too annoyed. One time the final Octoling splatted me as I splatted them. It is also where I learned how much I hate facing Duallies.
I still really love how the ink in the background of the end credit just rotate from orange and blue for splatoon 1, green and magenta for splatoon 2 then yellow and purplish blue for 3
The battle section of the last level I failed about 15 times and literally cried from how mad I was, I had to stop playing and go take a shower to calm down, after that it took maybe 10 more tries and I finally beat it.
Honestly, I feel like chat was a bit too harsh with the secret level... sightreading the level is not easy, and I'm sure many of the people who have done the level (myself included) have made some very similar mistakes... especially the whole making mistakes early on when the 1st time you got through flawlessly, lol

Advice for After Alterna! This level took me about 2 hours overall to beat but I am also not a pro player so don’t expect it to take this long if you are a good player. Phase One: This phase is based on movement and platforming. Be careful. Learn the layout and get ready to die a lot. I recommend using burst bombshell for this phase to move and kill enemies quickly. During the last part, stand on the platform and throw burst bombs to cover the moving platforms in ink. It makes it way easier. Phase 2: Not a lot I can say for this one. You ride on rails and shoot balloons. You will either get this immediately or struggle for a while as it is skill based. Stay calm and don’t get upset when you die. At the end be ready to shoot while you are falling. Phase 3: Probably the easiest phase. Use smallfry to keep the soaker blocks open. If you get to this point you will likely pass this level very easily. Take your time and you’ll be fine. Phase 4: A lot of people struggle with this but it really isn’t that bad. Make use of your splashdown. Take on enemies one at a time when possible. If you are worried the answer is always “run”. Running will save you. Keep calm and you will probably pass this within 10-15 minutes. If smallfry is completely upgraded use him, otherwise use burst or splat bombs. Overall Advice: Start the level with a lot of power eggs. Take breaks when needed, don’t get worked up. Try to fully upgrade your hero gear, it helps a lot. Learn how to squid roll and squid surge well. Make sure you have a lot of time, so u don’t have to restart. Rewards: A Badge for ur splashtag A title for ur splash tag Teddy bear ears An alterna log

to anyone struggling on the 4th phase, here's a few tips that might be helpful :
- upgrade your gear if you haven't! that final upgrade is going to help defeat the octolings trust
- i would advise on not collecting the canned specials unless you're really confident at a certain one (like if you're an inkjet main or something) because most of them restrict you in some capacity
- splashdown should be the most useful since it's a one and done special : it's short + it's powerful + it refills your ink
Ex: (ultra stamp : you lose the ability to shoot and strafe at the same time ; spiderman : you lose your sub weapon ; trizooka : you have to use all of your shots before you can use your main weapon again)
- this is where i feel like fully upgrading your gear is gonna be very helpful because the last perk of your gear makes your smallfry op as fuck
- when you're getting bombarded, throw your smallfry in the general vicinity of some octolings
- if it doesn't hit anyone, it acts as a taunt which distracts the octolings! so now theyre focused on killing your smallfry and not you!
- if it does hit anyone, it's a one-hit KO so you just got rid of one problem (which is REALLY good for the last phase when the octolings can use specials)
- ink an area and heal up! (if your gear is broken, be careful for any bombs or stray ink shots!)
- then when you're ready, go back to fighting
- and if you're near a landpoint of an octoling, throw a bomb to deal with them! less problems = more happiness
