- I spent 2 weeks in Australia, starting off with Sydney for Hallyupop’s kpop concert. Sydney is SO BEAUTIFUL and I was honestly surprised by a lot of things in Australia. For reference, I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area in California. :) #australia #sydney #sydneyvlog

Aussies like nice people. You get back what you put out.
Good point!
Makes Me emotional seeing it through someone's eyes for the first time. On the flip side of that, I take it really personally when people come here from overseas and something bad happens to them here, so keep your head on a swivel lovely lady. Welcome, hope you have a blast ❤
Thank you for watching and the kind words!
Welcome to Australia! Hope you have a wonderful time here.
One of my favorite countries I've visited so far! Thanks for watching!
I'm glad you enjoyed visiting Sydney. Yes, Australia is a very safe place. However, I wouldn't want one of my daughters walking alone through any parks at night. Even where my family and I live, which is very rural, (New England Tablelands, NSW) I would still not want any of my children walking through parks at night.
Thanks for the nicely made, honest vlog. And it was a surprise to find that you came from San Francisco which is full of tourist sites.
Thank you for watching! I wouldn't want me California card revoked, but if I had to choose, I'd definitely choose Sydney!
@@RoseanneDucut San Francisco and Sydney are sister cities, I'm sure they'll let it slide.
If you get the chance, go to Tasmania. I often meet people overseas who haven't and it means they have missed some of the best bits. Have fun 😊
Tassie is beautiful ❤❤
The nature spots in Tasmania look amazing 🤯
Australia’s best kept secret, love Tassie.
Thank you for a beautiful video of one of our cities, seeing it through your eyes gives an Aussie a new appreciation for what we have here
Thank you for watching! I've been to 15 countries so far, and Australia is definitely in the top 5 from what I've seen so far!
So glad you have enjoyed Sydney. You are certainly getting around and seeing a lot of variety. If you havent already perhaps a visit to Vaucluse House or Elizabeth Bay house as National Trust properties. Also the new wing of the Art Gallery of NSW. I imagine you have now visited the whole area around the Rocks and Walsh Bay and the walk around to Barangaroo. Then, of course, a day trip to the Blue Mountains. I agree with other comments - while we are a safe place to live you still have to be on the cautious at night when alone and walking through parks after dark should really not be something done alone. Have a wonderful rest of your trip.
nice vlog should check out manly beach if you come back, im from Sydney its such an amazing place, glad you had a good time!
Hoping to back again soon, I'll add it to my list. Thank you!
Next time should visit Katoomba Blue Mountains, you’ll be blown away by how beautiful it is ❤
Hi Rose, great video it's a pity you didn't get a clear day while filming Sydney Harbour but anyway
the other days were fine, loved it.
It was quite cold that day. Thank you! Hope to visit again on a sunnier season
Love it
Definitely be careful walking alone at night.
Melbourne will welcome you with open arms! But yeah just be careful walking around alone as with anywhere.
My longest stay was in Melbourne! (I'm delayed on editing lol). Loved it there!
@@RoseanneDucut Glad to hear you had a good time here in Aus!
Like the list Roseanne. Welcome to RUclips we are newish also. Hope you make more. Love to see other Americans travel far and wide. Hope you might like our stuff too. - Bear
Definitely! And safe travels to y'all!
2:31 - The bird is an ibis, nicknamed the 'bin chicken'! 🚮🐔😀
2:55 - QVB and Strand Arcade are beautiful historic buildings.
It's also worth getting the ferry to Manly and checking out other beaches north of the Harbour.
For an out-of-town excursion for the day, get the train up to the scenic Blue Mountains or down the South Coast (more beaches!)
And a hidden gem - Wendy Whiteley's Secret Garden at Lavender Bay.
the South Coast is shit since it blew up with cashed people.
I was shocked by the ibis every time haha! Thank you so much for the recommendations! Hoping to come visit again this year!
G'day Roseanne! I'm a Sydneysider from Chatswood! A city known for Asian culture such as Chinese, Korean and Japanese etc. As well as Chatswood, you should visit Lane Cove. It's a nice village area close to North Sydney, there are great eateries as well. Have you visited Darling Harbour? It's also one of my favourite places to go in my downtime with a visit to the Chinese Garden of Friendship. So happy you enjoyed your time in Sydney!
It is a pretty safe city especially around the CBD - but I wouldn't advise running round solo at night - 99% of the time you will be fine but there are bad people - there are in every populace city.
Great vid.... but you're too quiet.... I could barely hear what you were saying.
Are you OK? Your voice sounds very raspy gi to the hospital it doesn't cost except for medication.
Thanks for visiting Roseanne, enjoy your stay, Gday!
Thank you Andy!!
how delightful :-)
May I ask if you don’t have credit card, how to pay for the train without a card, ?
Hi Roseanne...I turned the volume up, but do you have a sore throat as it's hard to know what you're saying on my TV. Great vlog by the way and very entertaining , and Melbourne's my home town 👍
Haha no sore throat. I'll have to tinker on Final Cut Pro for the next vlogs. Thank you! I loved Melbourne, such a great city!
I am glad you seem to like Australia but walking through a park at night alone as a woman is like playing Russian roulette. It is not always safe unfortunately.
Nothing is "always" safe.
Yeah I agree! As a female/solo traveler I'm always on toes sadly, but it def felt much safer than San Francisco
Agree but if she sticks to heavily populated and well lit areas, it should be fine. Glad you enjoyed Sydney. Hope you got to visit more of Australia; Sydney is a taste 😃(& I say this as a Sydney-sider)
Spoken like someone who does not live in the Sydney CBD area. Sure it is definitely sketchy being out and about in places like Liverpool or Blacktown, but in the CBD there are always other people around, and it is normal to see women walking alone through the Domain on the way to Potts Point. I have spent enough time in sketchy cities around the world, and Sydney central district is probably the safest inner city I have been in anywhere.
I think comparing it to Russian Roulette is a bit unfair! Statistically it is very safe in the CBDs if you stay away from red-light districts and the associated drunken brawls. You certainly don't have the random assaults you get in the US.
Glad you enjoyed Sydney 😊 I'm sure it seems safe compared with other places, but it's still not a great idea to walk by yourself at night if you're a woman. Sad but true.
Couldn’t hear a word you said, why you whispering
Although I got a little dizzy with the quick transitions of all the sights. It would have been a little nicer for a little longer views of most of your shots. I do understand you didn’t want a long video however, maybe just take this constructive criticism as it is meant to be…. As one other mentioned. I do wish you would have had a nicer sunny day whilst exploring the harbour. Maybe next time… you must be one of the most soft spoken from the US. Absolutely loved that about you! Thank you for your video. I would like to wish you safe travels and continued happy adventures down under. 😁🙏🥰 Oh by the way, I would love to hear your opinion of our coffee culture down under.
Re the quick shots - I replayed the video at half speed. Gave the music a nice haunting quality too 😄
Haha thanks for the feedback! Part of it is I take short clips which I need to work on 😆 Sadly I don't drink coffee! But I've heard that Melbourne is famous for it?
🤣
Amazing video of Australia. Happy, blissful, good health and full of abundance New Year 2023 to you my new friend.
Thanks for visiting and hope you enjoyed all of Australia
Thanks for watching!
I hope you enjoy your stay but I would avoid walking through any park or poorly lit area at night. it's probably safer than many cities in the world but we still have our share of criminals. Best not to put yourself in a vulnerable situation.
The Observatory is worth a visit
I am glad I found this video. Planning to visit Sydney soon! ❤
Hope you have an awesome time in Sydney!
you covered things other people don't - public transport or the currency for instance. Really good video, very helpful
If you have time please visit me and my house
I’m living in manly
Why are you whispering in your hotel room 😂
I find it cringe / worry that my hotel neighbors will hear me vlogging/talking to a camera. Still need to work on that 😂
@@RoseanneDucut 🤣 fair enough!!
hallo sobat Salam knl Dan kumplit mensupportmu 🤝🤝
dont forget the opera house failed in its one and only required function: acoustics
That's a bummer!
They are spending millions of dollars to fix that flaw.
It's also very ugly.
They have just a major reno of the interior not long ago and concert hall acoustics now very good
Are you from Melbourne?
Sydney/Australia is safe no need to be scared.
Thank you! One of the safest countries I've been to as a tourist!
I am glad you enjoyed Sydney! ❤😊 my city
1:24 I'd strongly advise against that!
Aussie Aussie Aussie - Oi OI Oi is one of the funnest things to do in a huge crowd of people. Love it everytime!
It was surreal & fun to hear as a foreigner 😄
Have a good time mate
You don't even notice currency after a couple of weeks in a country - it disappears so effing fast ;)
Haha true!
Did you get out of cities? Our cities aren't that special with no buildings over about 200 years old, but we've got some of the best natural places on Earth. Please see a cloudless desert night sky with no light sources within the horizon - you can touch the Milky Way.
Honestly I just hit the main cities first to see what they're like. Hoping to visit again but more nature-focused
Sydney has plenty of buildings older than 200 years old, only have to walk down Macquarie street to see a few + the Rocks area.
Very nicely presented. xox
Glad you enjoyed my city. 😊👍
Try eating kangaroo. It's so lean and tasty. And of course you can't come to Australia without trying a parma!
I think you missed that she is vegan so no kangaroo tastings
If you want some other vegan suggestions let us know (supermarket supplies) For good dinning options check out “Happy Cow”, will help you find good vego/vegan places. Melbourne came in the top 5 or 10 vegan cities in the world if your coming here ❤
Thank you! I use Happy Cow too. I definitely missed out on a lot of vegan spots, but hoping to go back. What is your top 2 in Melbourne?
@@RoseanneDucut you could to Brunswick Street in Fitzroy there is so many options even a vegan deli. The deli is owned by same people who run a vegan restaurant called smith and daughter in Brunswick st

There’s vegan tours that will take you around to vegan places for the day .
can i have your itinerary po?
Just want to say that Sydney is not the only place to see. Australia does not stop at the Blue Mountains, 99% of the country is past there.
Nice, but Sydney is not Australia. There are many other towns, cities and sights worth seeing. Notice how tidy the streets are?
At the end of the video she is on the plane to Brisbane so I take it she already knows there is more to Australia than Sydney.
Haha I was worried asking them to do oi oi oi 3 times would get annoying. Ah, interesting. Were those covers just a short-term thing?
Personally, I don't like the oi oi oi - it's so 2000 and cringe - but that's my issue. If the peeps like it, who am I to judge? Oh, and they've removed those covers from the crossings in the last few weeks and you can once again slap the buttons, although they're still automatic between 6AM and 10PM or something like that.
Haha I was worried asking the crowd to do oi oi oi 3 times would get annoying. And interesting, were the covers just a short-term thing?
@@RoseanneDucut The covers were there to stop people pressing during covid. They are the most satisfying buttons to slap. If you really want to nerd out about them: ruclips.net/video/FwbNFRbqwfg/видео.html
Why do vegans disguise vegan products as non vegan food like ham and cheese? Surely these highly processed substitutes can't be good for you? Why not just stick to fruit and vegetables?
I was just about to type this!
A lot for nostalgia and taste. I've tried doing the all fruit/veg diet and it didn't work for me. Hope it works for you!
A lot of recipes are based around meat protein so it's very helpful to have a vegan alternative so you can simply swap the protein.
It is never safe to walk through parks at night. You were lucky to not be accosted or attacked. Do you have a lung or breathing problem? Because I couldn't hear or understand most of what you whispered. It was very annoying.
Nah, Sydney is generally very safe. Especially in and around the CBD area which she was in.
@@Krenisphia Having lived there, I can assure you that is incorrect.
‘Its never safe walking through parks at night’? Garbage. Sydney would be one of if the safest cities at night I’ve ever been to. And have been to plenty
@@Glenn-ei3xp And you would be a man, right? You show me those low stats, then.
@@xymonau2468 no problem kid. Out of 416 cities of the world Sydney is ranked 305 for crime,so yes it’s extremely low. Does that help you? Australia is ranked 7th safest country in the world for visitors, do you need more? Got plenty
